Symptoms for week with the 23rd in it

I'm week 7 (almost 8) and my symptoms are REALLY bad . Is anyone else having this?
Like I'm so nauseous about everything to the point where I pulled dinner out of the oven tonight then sat outside for 2 hours until everyone had eaten and the smell was gone.
I've been sleeping in my brain because my boobs are SO SORE. I've been avoiding showering because the water pressure hurts my breasts too much. I am suffering, I hope you all aren't. Tell me about your symptoms?

Re: Symptoms for week with the 23rd in it

  • My body thinks 12-4 AM is the perfect time for morning sickness. I'm so unbelievably exhausted. No food aversions as of yet. But this middle of the night sickness can end any time now.
  • Loading the player...
  • I think nausea is finally kicking in and I woke up with a full blown cold which is making it worse. Im
not throwing up yet (thank goodness) but this constant quesyness is driving me nuts. My boobs are surprisingly not that sore though. I'm 6.5 weeks today. Last time nausea did not show up until late in week seven.
  • @ugoglencoco when I was around week 5 my body thought it was ideal to wake up at 2am every single day in desperate need of a fried egg .
    So annoying I was exhausted
  • I'm pretty miserable. Week 7 and 2 days  now. Boobs started hurting at 3 weeks, before I even got a BFP. Now they hurt every time I move. Nausea started at week 6 and threw up this morning for the first time. Very averse to most food, and completely lost my sweet tooth. When I do find something appetizing, I feel grossed out by it as soon as I've finished eating. Bad taste in mouth all the time (is it metallic? I can't tell). Always either hot or shivering, stomach gurgles like crazy, peeing every two hours.
  • I'm feeling what a lot of you are feeling... sore boobs/nips, the beginnings of nausea/queasiness, too hot or too cold, peeing every hour or so (also drinking tons of water), tightness in my abs, tired, grumpy, hungry. BUT, last night I woke up in the middle of the night with really painful lower abdominal cramps, which was really scary. They went away, but now I'm feeling nervous again.

You know what I crave...raw mango with some salt rubbed on it...yum!! Lol so weird.
  • I have been having some nausea in the morning now, nothing terrible but enough to make me feel blah. Like @DuchessOfCambridge though I welcome it! Reassures me, paticularly since my breasts aren't as sore as they had been.  Smells are starting to bother me a bit more as well.

  • @jess0211 I'm on the verge of puking and so ecstatic haha. But actually I'm hoping eating something makes it go away, I've got work to do.

@ShePersisted and @jess0211 - made my stomach turn as well!

I have pretty much no appetite and food aversions to everything but salty food (crackers) which is very boring!  Boobs are incredibly sore and hard.  Exhaustion has hit big time.  I haven't had a Dr. appointment yet (first on Monday) so I guess it's reassuring.  I could sleep for a few days straight!

Twinging in my lower abdomen, stronger nausea and sore breasts, also have a full blown cold @ShePersisted , thought is reassuring as this pregnancy is already so different than my last
  • The nausea is over whelming. I am now on a prescription from my Doc to help ease it a bit but its hard to function. The smell of food & coffee makes it even worse. Even just thinking about food makes my stomach turn. Hopefully this passes soon.
  • I'm in week 5 and my boobs are still so sore, sleeping on my stomach is painful. I've still got nausea but just on and off. Still craving everything spicy, and pretzles are my go to when I'm nauseous.
  • @lahansen  The painful cramps could be constipation or gas... I had those around 5 weeks and it was so extremely painful I started crying... I told my husband that I thought I was miscarrying... turned out I just needed to poop!

I'm really tired.  So tired.  My boobs only hurt sporadically and I get nauseous if I get too hungry.  Speaking of hungry, I am always really, really, really hungry.  Stomach growling hungry all the time.

Edited to add that I still can't poop.  I go days without pooping.  It sucks.
  • Im in week 7.  The nausea has gotten even worst and with the food aspersions it's been hard to actually eat. My boobs hurt and have grown so my scrub top feel tight already. DH doesn't mind that they are bigger. He's actually started reading the book I gave him so he's been more supportive the last few days. Oh, and smells, they are so strong. Made tacos last night and to me the meat was rancid but it wasn't.
  • @DuchessOfCambridge  Thank you.  I've been taking stool softeners and fiber pills but nothing is working.  I am willing to give anything a try.
  • @av2323  I go days without pooping too! and only get nauseous if I'm hungry, which is a lot of the time! I might have to listen to @DuchessOfCambridge  with the prune juice!
  • @av2323 @Furmommy I hope the prune juice works for you both, I drank it and a couple hours later it cleared me out. Now I proceed with caution. @slaven recommended it!

So, I kept hoping for nausea and now I feel like I've gotten an "ask and you shall receive". And I so do not want my lunch.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge  how much do you drink now? Only once per day?
  • 8 oz is enough for me. I don't every day because I try to see if my body will do it on its own, but if I haven't had a BM in a day or two, I'll drink it.

  • I was so happy to have symptoms because I was glad that it meant I'm having a healthy pregnancy, now my food a versions and smell senility plus my constant nausea is worrying me. I can't eat. I haven't held down a full meal in a few days and am getting all nutrients from my meal replacement shakes (which sometimes don't last) and my pre natal vitamin. I'm worried that I'm not consuming enough calories to sustain baby and me, but I honestly don't know what to do. I'm in tears whenever I think about the fact that my baby isn't getting any nutrition. I usually lead such a healthy lifestyle and I put huge importance on a healthy diet that now I can't eat.
I feel like I've tried everything except the medicine and I'm so frustrated and upset. It is actually difficult for me to feed my family and I can barely take my little one out in public just because some smell always has me throwing up or gagging on the side of the street. I can't make it to the doctor for another few days simply because of how busy my life is right now and the fact that it's SO HARD to get out of the house and to the doctor. I honestly don't know what to do and I'm so worried about my baby's health.
  • *TW, possibility of loss mentioned*

@bcashaw take this with a grain of salt because I'm not a scientist, but I recently read an abstract of research done on morning sickness and health of baby. The conclusion reached was that morning sickness actually means the pregnancy is healthier and the baby has a better chance of survival*. The believed reason for this is that it's how the baby gets rid of any toxins the mom might be ingesting (just from pathogens in food, particularly meat), so even if you're losing weight, it's ok and it's a good sign your baby will survive. The whole reason they did the study was to relieve anxiety from moms-to-be and allow physicians to focus on alleviating the uncomfortable symptoms without worrying about the baby. HG is excluded from this since that's a different condition.

*Lack of morning sickness does not mean you will miscarry, it's thought that this comes about because the mom is more likely to ingest things that could harm the fetus. The other part of it is that all symptoms going away in early pregnancy are usually a sign of miscarriage.

I would have loved to read the whole research paper but wasn't into paying $36 to do so.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge do you have the title or authors?

  • @DuchessOfCambridge thank you! I'm so stressed about it and I know that's not good. My DH is also worried about it and has been bringing home all my favourite foods (none of which I can stand) and trying to get me to eat them. I'll be sure to let him know about this study!

My doctor told me that not eating enough won't cause a miscarriage. He said that if it's meant to be it will be, and not to worry about eating healthy, but just to eat what I can. I also drink these little protein shakes and he said that's good. He said it's most important to drink a lot of water.
  • @bklynchica thanks! I will definitely be sure to stay hydrated!
  • Np. I had the same concerns but he was really reassuring.
  • @bcashaw just as further reassurance I was that way all through my first pregnancy, I survived mainly on water and chicken boullion. In total I lost about 40lbs throughout my pregnancy but I ate what I could when I could and made healthy choices and DD is now a happy healthy 5 year old!
  • Ahhh reading the words "all symptoms going away in early pregnancy are usually a sign of miscarriage" just  made my PGAL brain go even more off the deep end.

    @bcashaw
I hope you start feeling better soon!!

  • @JDW0325 that was not my intent!! I'm so so sorry! That's also why I bolded "usually" because there plenty of women who never have symptoms even to begin with. I'm truly so sorry, I'm not a doctor and I didn't mean to stress you out.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge
no no no girl you are FINE! Thank you though. I'm just in my own head WAY too much today. <3
  • @jdsw0325 still, I feel like an ass. In trying to not make moms who don't have MS not stress, I stressed out someone else. Wishing us all super sticky babies.

  • I'm at 8+3 and my nausea and crippling fatigue had eased up slightly in the last few days. I went 3 days puke free, still queezy but not throwing up. Today-streak broken. :::sigh::: I do remember with my last pregnancy it was like a switch flipped at 12 weeks so I'm hoping for that again.
