33 posts since I was on yesterday afternoon! Love it! Had to catch up! I had randoms to say, but I can't remember them (thanks pregnancy brain, I forget everything now!).
This wasn't one I had earlier, but it is definitely worth mentioning...totally having a chocolate chocolate chip muffin this morning (had one yesterday afternoon too). No regrets! So good!
Is it weird that I've downloaded most, if not all, of the suggested apps to check out and determine if I like them and that they will work for us? LOL
ETA: I remembered one of my randoms! I went and picked up the cloth diapers I had mentioned in the "holiday deals" thread after work yesterday. They look almost brand new! I'm so excited! There's 5 pocket and 1 AIO, and 8 inserts!

Another activity for mamas on bedrest with toddlers, I thought about it this morning. My LO loves making shadow finger puppets on the wall and ceiling. We use a flashlight or the light on my phone.
@Yiggle09 - Thanks for asking, I did end up calling. Doc says it's likely viral and will play out. She recommended the BRAT diet + Gatorade...neither of which I can do until lunch, since I'm at work. I feel awful, but don't want to use my PTO, since it eats away at any pay I might get during maternity leave

@BeachMommy2B I wore the same sandals my feet swelled (?) in last week and it only been an hour and I can already tell they're a bad choice. They're just a little too small/ tight. Guess I'll be doing some shoe shopping.
@nda_roxybabe I found some flip flops (I think at TJ Maxx) that i would consider a little dressier, and the sole says its made out of yoga foam, so super soft. So worth the switch.
@llenadevida900 Moana is super emotional! (Spoiler alert!): The day we took DD to the theater we got the call on the way that DHs grandma passed away...So needless to say lots of tears happening throughout the movie. It gets better with time tho!
Taking the 1-hour GTT right now. I got orange, which is easily the worst flavor, especially since I hate orange soda.
I made an appointment at the lab near my house and when I showed up, they were closed for remodeling and had a sign on the door to go to another location. I made it to the other location about 30 minutes later than my appointment and therefore will be fasting until after 10. This pregnant lady is hangry and shaking due to the drink.
@nda_roxybabe People have answered, but a couple google searches might help as well. Or your hospital may have a template.
@mdlorenz Love all of the recommendations your giving!!
@SKZW Glad the bedrest isn't as strict. Thinking about you!
I had so many other comments and shout outs, but can't remember them all! To those not feeling well, I hope you feel better. To those with BH or pregnancy related medical things going on, hope it gets better soon!
@starphish18 we've been using TinyBeans and we like it so far! And that way if family doesn't want to see, they can ignore it if I post a million pictures.
@jayandaplus Yup, I'm using what @mdlorenz gave me combined with stuff I found online. So far it's a lot of "whatever is best", "whatever my Dr. thinks", and "If I feel like it" hahaha

This is exactly how I was, and I found that it made it so much less stressful. I went in feeling knowledgeable about what my options were if it was brought up but I didn't have strict expectations. I figured if I can't trust my doctor then I picked the wrong one from the beginning!

I just finished at hospital with a big sigh of relief. I had an upper abdominal ultrasound, mainly to check on liver and gallbladder. My heart skipped a beat when the tech said to stay put bc she was getting the radiologist. Doc came in and took another look and said everything looked from the ultrasound considering I'm 30 weeks pregnant. No gallstones.
Blood work should come back this afternoon or tomorrow.
I now have a couple birth Q's. Should I ask them here is or is anyone interested in a new thread now that we're actually seriously thinking about this stuff?
@nda_roxybabe go for it. I think we can be a bit hesitant to make new threads here sometimes. Post away, whats the worst that happens? I can't think of a downside
This is probably petty and unfair of me...DH is scheduling his vasectomy for the beginning of June (I'm due at the end of May) and keeps talking about how we'll both be "recovering." From what I've read about vasectomies, they are nowhere near as physically traumatic as childbirth. Our recoveries will not be the same, or even on the same level. If he tries to steal my thunder or try to push work off on me during that time, I will flip out. Considering how he handles man colds, it's not going to be pretty.

Umm if he was my DH he would be rescheduling. It's not like there is a rush. You shouldn't have sex for AT LEAST 6 weeks PP.
@kayemjay2 I can't remember, do you have other kids? Because there are lifting restrictions post vasectomy and that could be tricky.
My man child had laser eye surgery (elective) one month post partum and I nearly killed him. I would not suggest doing something of a similar elective nature in those first few months.
@bacorrea - Yeah, I'm not thrilled. It works out for his work schedule, and my sister/mom will be in town to help with DS and baby DS2, so I'm not pushing it too hard. Also, apparently they don't confirm sterility until 12 weeks after the procedure, so I've vetoed sex during that time...haha. That part of the "recovery" can coincide with mine, since he won't be coming near my lady parts for a while post-birth anyways.

@kayemjay2 - just tell him that unless the needle they use has the same size circumference as the baby's head did at birth, he's not allowed to compare the two!
In all seriousness, though, we were contemplating a similar time frame until I decided that I didn't want to spend part of my maternity leave caring for a newborn, a toddler and a man-baby. I figured we'd save his awful and terrible recovery for a day I'd be at work!
@nda_roxybabe - That's what I've heard from numerous sources, so he definitely won't be able to milk it. Also, my sister who will be in town to help is a surgeon, so she'll cut through the BS.
@WombThereItIs - Yeah, our son will be 18 months at the time. It won't be ideal, but it sounds like the lifting restrictions are for 1-2 days. When my sister is in town, all she wants to do is hold/play with DS, so it should be survivable.
DH and I are gchatting right now, and this convo just happened: DH: My dad says the recovery wasn't bad, just sore for the first 24 hours Me: Okay, if it's that easy, it should be fine...but don't be milking this like a man cold. DH: It definitely won't be as terrible as a man cold. Women just don't understand.

In case anyone is curious about a visual representation of a Target baby registry bag, here's the one I got. And seriously, they didn't even confirm I actually have a registry, which is good cause there's one item on there so I could get the gift bag.

Yepp my DH hasn't even scheduled his yet. My OB asked what my plans were between then regarding BC since it can take awhile to get a referral. I just laughed at him. But in all seriousness I'll probably just take the mini-pill until everything is done with DH just be safe.

Totally random for my fellow attorney bumpers. One of my cases just went up on writs to the U.S. Supreme Court, which is very exciting for the lawyer dork in me. But wow, could the timing be any worse!
We just got TONS of stuff in the mail for baby (love you, Amazon)! My nesting is out of control. I just rubbed a newborn diaper against my face because it's so tiny! Aah! I am so ready for it to be go time! Anyone else feeling like these next weeks/months are torture? I'm ready already! My baby fever can't get any hotter!
Just got confirmation that my old employer, which is 4 hours away from where I live now, is buying my new employer. Well, they say they're "affiliating" but the rumors are that they're looking to acquire us, and an acquisition could mean I'd lose my job because they'd likely consolidate IT. I can't stress too much about it, though... the process will probably drag on for a year at least and there's no guarantee that they'll cut our positions. At least I left the last employer on really good terms. This is great timing with having a baby and buying a house ETA: I'm the breadwinner in our household (I make 2.5x as much as DH) so losing my job would be pretty damn rough.

I'm just the opposite. I wish I could slow time down. I have so much to do to get ready for baby. That combined with knowing this is my last pregnancy makes me want to hold onto it a little longer. For the most part, I enjoy pregnancy and I'm trying to savor the last 2 months (and milk it as much as I can with DH).

Awesome! How exciting (and terrifying...can you tell I hate litigating?)!!! I once met Breyer & Scalia. I would have spent all day talking to Breyer if given the chance and, in person, Scalia wasn't that bad either.
@jayandaplus I think I'm right there with you! H saw me peering into the nursery this weekend and was like "Its getting real, huh?" I still need more stuff, but I'm just about ready for this baby. Plus, if the Dr. is right on their current weight they can go ahead and come a month early so they're not HUGE :P
Just got back from my 32 week appointment where I had to have a growth ultrasound and everything looks good. Baby is at 4.5 lbs! It is so real. That is all.

I just had my first loud "ow" baby kick moment in the office. She gave me a good pow right to the belly button area, which is sensitive sometimes.
