This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. Feel free to resurrect this thread at any point in the week if you have something to say, and treat this like an ongoing conversation.

@kaitlink33 sorry your feeling out already IF is such a B and it can be so hard to stay positive
@TravelingCouple Hooray for starting a medicated cycle. I agree with the other ladies that injectables are usually a last resort and if your initial dose of letrozole does not work they try increasing it first.
@KristoKekerooni so sorry for the BFN hugs. Could you try letrozole instead of clomid? most ladies have way less side effects with letrozole.

@Kaitlink33 I'm sorry you feel like you're out, but I completely understand how that can actually make you feel better. I always used to think I was an optimistic person but with IF I feel like tempering optimism has been the best, mentally. So I know where you're coming from.
@KristoKekerooni I'm so sorry about the BFN! Can you ask to switch to letrozole to avoid the clomid issues?

Anyway, I also just started AF, so yay to that. My LP ended up not changing on progesterone, which sucks because I was hoping it would make my FW line up properly in a week so the IUI can be done, because if it looks like weekend, my doc will cancel it since they aren't open. They way it's looking now, I probably won't get the IUI done. I am so upset today. I'm freaking tired. So tired of this shit.
And it's fucking Monday so it's not like I can go overboard drowning my "Cycle 33 sorrows" in alcohol.

@TravelingCouple Good luck with this cycle! I did end up needing injectables with my Femara and it's no biggie at all. If you have any questions at all this cycle just give a shout out!
So after some confusion with switching insurance companies in July, we have decided to move up our IVF just one month. So I'll start BCPs next month. At first we were considering doing it this month but I'm happy I have a bit longer to mentally/financially prepare.

@KristoKekerooni sorry for CD1 and that your having such a rough IUI road. Its unusual that your clinic won't do the IUI on the weekend. Most won't do IUI US on the weekend but will do the IUI itself. its crazy that they cut out 2 days a week because everyone cycles differently. Well maybe if worse comes to worse it can be a TI cycle...
@JuneRoseRuby i'm sorry your having such anxiety about BFPs. It might be something to mention to your BFF... hugs

Diagnosis: DOR, AMA
Cycle/CD: 17 (11 AL)/23
Status: TWW
What are you doing this cycle: All the supplements and herbs, eliminating lots of toxins, still listening to "It Starts with the Egg," abusing my credit card privileges on Amazon to try even more supplements for next cycle (Myo Inositol because while I don't have PCOS, I am insulin resistant since I have Type II Diabetes, and DHEA, although I'm still nervous to try it), supplementing with progesterone, boning.
How are things going: The last two cycles I had 12 day LPs, and my ovulation this cycle was on CD16, which is where it was before my cycle deteriorated, so my acupuncturist and I have made some progress. We had good timing this month, too, so I know I've done about all I can. I started off the cycle optimistic, but my temps have been awfully low for post-O, so I'm starting to feel concerned.
Any questions: Nope.
GTKY: I like watching sports occasionally, but definitely prefer going to a game. I won't choose to put a game on TV myself, nor do I participate in MM brackets. But I will watch basketball or football with OH. I especially like the NFL Red Zone channel since it covers all the games at their most exciting point.

@JuneRoseRuby I feel the exact same. I hid my friends posts on FB so I won't see her pregnancy updates anymore. Anytime someone says to me "I have something to tell you" I automatically think it's that and my stomach drops. My co-worker said "I have some exciting news" and I could feel my eyes starting to sting with tears but then she told me she got a new job....it's pretty ridiculous. Also my SIL got KU on her first try last year and already said she hopes to be KU with #2 by the time he's 1....I'm dreading dreading dreading that annoucement. It's so terrible.

@hartmich So I decided to do the genetic testing on the embryos because during our IUI cycles I would produce like 5 eggs, but then... obviously... I didn't get KU. There can be a lot of variable in this, so I decided to eliminate as many as possible. Maybe the sperm couldn't penetrate the egg? So we are doing ICSI. Maybe something is happening on a genetic level we don't know about? So we are doing PGS. I just realllly wanted to eliminate as many different variables as possible. It's wildly expensive, but H and I decided that for our situation we wanted to pursue it.

@KristoKekerooni so sorry for the BFN and AF, lady. Also about the Clomid. Everyone's body reacts to these things SO differently so please don't think less of yourself for something so ultimately out of your control. Maybe if you are getting more monitoring this time around the doctors can advise you on how to best cope with the symptoms. You're as much of a champ as the rest of us, I promise you!
@Bababatty I'm relieved for you with the IUD announcement. I wish more people would tell me news like that instead of brazenly telling me they are starting to TTC when I haven't asked. I'd talk BC with my coworkers over babies any day.
@wabash15 I agree with @hartmich that I'd wait for another day of high temps to see what happens. Also that either way, your timing is on point.
@TravelingCouple Good for you for finding a therapist. I can relate to the feeling of "I'm not this person" big time. I'm sorry for all of the emotions you are grappling with today and in general. Sending so much
@TravelingCouple I think a therapist would be a great idea. I have been thinking about you and I know things have been mentally really hard for you lately. You'll want to be in good mental shape for this damn roller coaster called IF. What a great H you have to come home from work.

I am considering switching back to the RE. The reason we didn't was because she's five hours away and only does IUIs with injectibles, which was pricey, when you add that to the cost of all the travel (because she will do some, but not all monitoring down here- as in only the baseline down here)But now our insurance covers IUIs, so the cost would come down a lot and we would just have all the travel to worry about. I think we will do this upcoming IUI, maybe one or two more, then switch. Summers are easier to travel.
