  • @lahearn18 I feel your pain! DH got stuck at work on Christmas because the roads were closed. It was awful. I hope he makes it home soon!!
  • @daniellelynette

Just got a call. He's about 30 min away from home.
  • @lahearn18 yayayayayayayyyyy!!!!!!
  • Ps...sorry if my meme from previous post offends anyone. I have a potty mouth and didn't think anything of it until just now. I frequently retype my posts to remove my "vulgarity".

Oh I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I'm constantly picking new meme or gif to prevent offending someone with my sailor mouth.

  • @DPandMB thank goodness im not alone haha. And yes @Becky012016 i have heard the same thing!! It's partially because we don't restrict our own vocabulary or something like that.

SO glad it's not just me. I edit my posts all the time, lol. I tell people all the time "my kid will be the one in the office for profanity." How I have never cursed in front of my students is a miracle.

  • I've been working ER all day, but done at 10, yay! Only good part about working today is treating myself to panera delivery for lunch

It doesn't bother me. I don't really curse but it doesn't bother me if others do.
  • @daniellelynette That is very sad. :( I limit myself on purpose, because if I ate all the nutella I wanted, I'd be a fat fat fatty.
YES! Nutella on a fresh croissant is literally the most amazing thing ever! I have to limit myself in buying it or it'd be BAD!
  • I have a potty mouth too. You can when I get comfortable with people because then I let the f bombs fly.

*raises hand* I have a terrible potty mouth. I worked with construction men for a long time and then worked as a waitress for 6 years. It's very hard to offend me with language. I swear so much sometimes that I don't notice it.

At work i use terms like armpit, sonofa beesting, holy schmoly is a favourite as well.
I worked on construction sites too! I was with the electricians. That's when DH and I were living in Utah. I also worked as a waitress at the steakhouse here when we moved here from Utah lol
  • They say people who regularly cuss/use profanity/whatever you call it are smarter ;)
I have to find some "real" study to back that. My dad all the time tells me I sound uneducated because I use cuss words. I tell him, sometimes no other word can truly fit a situation like the F bomb.

  • Got the baby to bed, hubby is out, eating junk food and catching up on TV now.
  • +1 on the potty mouth train. DH and I have been taking about how we need to work on our cursing before this little man gets here. But chances are, my kid and @HollyGolightly09's kid will be hanging out in the office together, exchanging bad words the way kids in my generation exchanged pogs. ;)

I also edit myself a lot on here too, mostly because several years back I was in charge of some check-in or another on TTGP, and my GTKY question was "What is your favorite curse word?" About half the women were like, "Oh, I never curse. I'm a lady." (Slight exaggeration, but you get my point.) After that I always felt like the odd potty-mouth out, and tried to edit myself.

  • DH and I decide if our kids cuss but use the word in the correct context, they won't get in trouble with us. They'll just get reminded they aren't supposed to use those words until they're adults.
  • My kids are going to be in the office with yours @amandarene112 and @HollyGolightly09 lol! DH and I both cuss frequently. I've tried to cut back now that I'm around a toddler but sometimes it just comes out! @lahearn18 we should have jackets for the undercover foul mouthed sassy pants  :D
DH can get pretty bad at times and I have to remind him he's not at work anymore.
  • @mrsmgsee DH uses "Jiminy Cricket" as a curse word. I can have a pretty bad potty mouth at times, but he doesn't. It sounds weird when he uses the actual curse word.

I spent my Sunday hanging out with DH, so I missed all this. I feel very late to the party.

  • +1 potty mouth and proud! Ha! DH and I both work in a newsroom, where the vulgarity flows 24/7, except for on the air. I'm already convinced LO's first word will be inappropriate.

  • @daniellelynette twins!!  I found working in the restaurants was worse than the construction sites. Those men in the kitchen have foul mouths that put mine to shame.

I havent censored myself at home and DS has used the words the odd time but we tell him they are adult words and not for 3yo boys and he stops using them.

He may be in the office in his future for using foul language but it's a right of passage in my eyes.
  • @kailapop yesssss I had a couple chefs that could actually make me blush! Lol! I loved being in the kitchen though, they were so much fun. Also the steakhouse is attached to the hotel here, and we served 90% coal miners and oil riggers so the dining room was almost as bad as the kitchen! I loved it though.

My parents always laugh when they talk about how much I cussed as a child, but I learned it from hanging out in the garage with my dad lol! My niece has a FOUL mouth... one time my sister scared her and she yelled, "You little motherf***er!" Lolololol.
  • @daniellelynette hahahahaha.

When my little brother and I get together we drive our mother NUTS because apparently we cuss so much. Neither of us notice it and that makes her even more p/o.

One year my mil bought me a bar of soap to wash my mouth out.  :D:D:D:D

I am definitely part of the potty mouth club. I am trying so hard to stop, especially around DD.

We moved into our house in June. Our home is older and one of the doors started creaking all on its own. DD and I were in the room together and she goes "What the F*ck!"

She was 2.5 at the time. They hear everything!!!!

@lilpoots I'm so sorry. Stomach bugs while pregnant are the worst. Watch for dehydration. Don't hesitate to go to the ER if it gets tooo bad. There is no shame in going for an IV. I suffered through that with my first. Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks for the push. I went in and it was pretty obvious I needed assistance.

It happens to the best of us. No shame in it at all. No need to risk preterm labor. How are you feeling now? Any better?

  • @DPandMB I'm doing much better. Going very slow, but started reintroducing soft foods like banana and plain mashed potato today.
