Everything happened so fast I forgot to update this thread! Now that the twins are fed and sleeping, here's some details
Max Andrew and Miles Joseph joined our family on March 3rd (35+1) at 11:56pm and 11:58pm - they just couldn't push it 2 minutes to give each boy their own bday, lol! They were delivered by emergency c-section to do severe, fast coming pre-eclampsia. We are all very happy and healthy!
Max - 5lb 3oz, 18 inches Miles - 4lb 7oz, 17 inches
Ellery Elizabeth made her fast entrance on March 30 at 3:41pm! She weighed 8#1oz and was 20" long. We are adjusting well to being a family of 4 and are thankful she is here!
Benjamin Stephen arrived on his due date, 4/3. Started having contractions at midnight, went in to the birth center at 6:30am, was already dilated to 8 cm. Didn't progress all day and was transferred to the hospital, ended up with a c-section around 8 pm. Birth plan definitely didn't go how we wanted but we had to do what was safest for our sweet little Benny! Here is big brother (19 months) meeting his new baby earlier today
Graham Robert arrived on Saturday, March 25th at 12:59pm weighing 6 lbs, 4.6 oz, 19 inches long. It wasn't the home birth I dreamed of, but a fast and hard won VBAC at least.
Maren Katherine made her debut today, April 5th, weighing in at 9lbs 5oz and 22 inches long (almost exactly the same size as her big brother!). So looking forward to our new adventures as a family of 4.
Our nameless little man arrived via RCS April 3rd weighing 10 lb 3oz and 21 inches long.. he is a perfect little chunk and big sister is soooo in love with him!
Declan Scott was born this morning around 8:30. 6lbs 9 ounces and 19.5 inches long. He surprised us by being just over 2 weeks early! (I was late with my first)
Landon Reed arrived this morning (April 7, 2017) at 6:41am! He weighed a whopping 10lbs 8.5oz and was 21.5in long. He was 5 days late and I'm grateful to finally have him in my arms!
Lucy Evanna was born this morning at 8:18am, 8 days before her due date, at 6lbs 8oz and 19in. She's doing delightfully and I'm grateful to be done with labor and have my rainbow baby in my arms! Birth story in separate thread to follow.
Ella Jeanne Estelle McKinley was born at 10:22 am on 4/8. 8lbs 10oz (it's mostly all head 37.5cm, kinda glad I didn't have to push her out) 21in and the spitting image of her big brother.
Nathaniel Robert made his debut on 4/4/17 - one day before his due date. He weighed 6lbs 6oz and was 20in long. He didn't have a name until a couple of hours before we were discharged from the hospital! He is nursing like a champ and so bright eyed. He's a spitting image of his older brother. I love being a boy mom!
A little late with mine, but so excited to share. Benjamin was born April 2 at 11:25am. 8lbs 3oz and oh so beautiful. Had consistent stronger contractions starting 10:30pm the night before. Laboured at home until 1:30 then went to hospital and was 6cm. Pushed for just under an Hour and got to meet our lovely boy!
MMC @ 10w March 2016 Cautiously expecting April 5, 2017
Audrey Elise was born April 8th at 1:58pm 8lbs 13oz and 20 inches! She was born two days after her due date. So grateful that she's here and for a smooth labor and delivery!
Miss Margaret Emma Rebecca was born April 8th at 6:25 am. She was 8 lbs 2 Oz and 19 1/2 inches long. A week before her due date. She is more than I could ever imagine!
Andres Antonio arrived today, April 11th at 12:33am. He weighed 6lbs and 15oz and measured 20 inches. He looks just like his big brother. I'm in love all over again!
Evelyn Florence was born on 4/9/17 at 40w4d, 4:32 am, 9 lbs 13 oz, 21.5 inches long. She was every bit as big (and actually a bit bigger) than we thought she might be based on our 40 week ultrasound and needed to come into the world via c-section as a result. She is amazing and we are completely in love with her!
Hailey Grace joined us in the early hours of Saturday April 15th. I went into the hospital at 10:30 am on Friday for an induction - we finally got situated in our room and started pitocin around 1:30. The contractions were bearable until around 6pm when they got extremely painful - little did I know I was dilated to a 7. I got my epidural around 7:30/8 and then quickly progressed to an 8 (stretchable to a 9). Baby girl was just sitting too high so we decided to try a few different positions to get her to move down. Mostly I was in a sitting, frog legged position but around 12:30 am we decided to try what they called the corkscrew. This involved me laying on my side with one leg up in a stirup. Within 2 minutes I was in intense pain and full tears. The pain and pressure was just unreal. I told them my epidural was no longer doing anything and I felt like I needed to push. My nurse essentially scoffed at me (she and I weren't exactly friends...) and told me to just breathe through it. She finally checked me after my husband told her to either do something or he'd go find a nurse that would. She checked me and I was complete and baby was essentially crowning. It was a frantic 3-5 minutes after that with my OB running into the room and getting dressed for delivery. They finally let me turn onto my back and push after what seemed like forever. She was out in 2.5 pushes and I experienced essentially a med-free delivery (not by choice). We learned after the fact that my epidural had become loose due to the nurse turning me and not being gentle/mindful of the cords. It was an eye opening experience (I seriously bow down to moms that can focus through the pain the whole labor/delivery process) to say the least. Big brother is absolutely in love with his little sister and we are all loving the newborn snuggles.
Cary arrived last night at 8:15 pm. 8 lbs, 1 oz, 21 inches long, 1.5 weeks early. Not the easiest labor, started contractions at 1:00 am, went to the hospital at 10 am and epidural went in at 1 pm. Started pushing around 5 pm but he wasn't progressing and his heart rate was dropping so I was on constant oxygen between pushes. Doctor got worried that his cord might be around his neck so I ended up with a c-section. Not exactly the way I had hoped things would go but relieved to have a healthy baby! Now working on recovery.
Vera Kate made her way into the world at 7:05 am on April 16...quite an Easter present! Labored all day at home Saturday. Went in about midnight with contractions 2-4 minutes apart. She still took her time and arrived at 7:05 am. She is a very sweet baby so far. Big brother is smitten with her as well
Harper arrived April 12th at 1:27pm after 34 hours of labor. She was 5lbs 15oz and 19.75 inches long. We've had a great week getting to know each other. She's such a sweet baby.
Samantha Helen arrived April 10th at 8:20 am. She was 7 lbs 12 oz and 21 inches. She's an amazing addition to our family. I've been in a sleep deprived daze since. The app won't let me post a picture.
Our third baby girl was born April 19 at 10:53 am. I was sent to the hospital for a gentle/natural induction following my 4/18 appt and concerning NST at 40+1. That day involved early labor and trying to get things going with a foley bulb, pumping and lots of walking and squatting. We rested that night (me with the peanut ball) and at 7:35 the next morning I had progressed enough on my own to have dr break my bag of waters. Fast and furious active labor, med-free and 3 hrs 18 min later our baby was born! We are so in love with our second rainbow baby and we are still working on a name. She was 8lb 8oz, 20.25" long and has a ton of dark hair! DH and my doula were such rockstars for me during this birth!
Josephine Isobel was born 4/21, 12 days past her due date, after a low-intervention induction (two doses of misoprostol, which did very little, and the breaking of my water, which did a whole lot). 10lbs 1oz (almost exactly 2lbs larger than DD1), 21 inches long.
Contractions started almost immediately after they broke my water (was 4-5cm, 75% effaced, -1 station at that point) and quickly intensified. Labor was just over 3 hours long from start to finish with 20 min of pushing, when she came out with her right hand up by her face. No water birth due to meconium in the amniotic fluid, but I managed to go without pain meds, which was a goal. Minor pp hemorrhage, but baby girl and I are both doing great.
My beautiful Adelyn Joy was born 4:39am on April 20. She was 7 lb 15 oz . I was 41 weeks +2, we were waiting for her and waiting. I was supposed to get induced on the 20th, but went into labor the night before and after 5 hours total from start to finish, she was born. Quite the countrast from my son's birth which was 25 hours. We are very blessed and thankful !
Anniston joined us at 11:52pm on 4/19. I Woke up at 440 because I just couldn't stay asleep any longer I was excited to get the show on the road. We went to my parents for breakfast and I called the hospital at 7am to confirm induction time of 8am. We showed up at 8:02 and got put right into a room. I was hooked up to the monitors and checked- 2cm 50%. The dr decided to skip the cervidil and go straight to pitocin. I started having contractions that were 2-3 minutes apart but I couldn't feel them. Around 1pm they decided to insert a balloon catheter to help progress a little faster. Contractions got super intense right away so I got a little IV pain medicine to help relax me a little bit. My contractions started getting really bad again around 4 and my water broke by itself at 5. I was so ready for the epidural but the dr was at an emergency c section so I had to wait until close to 6 to get the epidural. I was able to relax and get some rest after getting the epidural. I was checked every hour and at 11pm I was at 10cm and DH got to see Anniston's head crowning. I started pushing at 11:22 and couldn't hardly feel anything so that was difficult. DH held my right leg and coached me thru pushing and then watched as I pushed our little girl out into the world. Anniston weighed 8lb 1 oz and was 21" long. We immediately had skin to skin and delayed cord clamping for a few minutes until DH cut it. I was so nervous for so long about being induced but overall, I am extremely happy with the way things turned out.
