Rant/Rave/Questions? I just want to make sure baby is ok. I didn't order a doppler last week because I didn't want to drive myself crazy if I didn't find a heartbeat but now I'm wishing I would have.
Ok, so as THRILLED as I was to finally hear the heartbeat at home at 11w0d, I have not been able to find it at home since (I've checked almost every day since, and yesterday I was 12w2d and still unable to find it again). And it has caused a combination of anxiety and just plain disappointment. Overall I am (read: will be) glad I got one, but I have a FIRM conversation with myself beforehand about how not finding it this early is not surprising, but only disappointing.
@jena333 I tried last night and heard it right away. Tried this morning and couldn't find it. Tried this afternoon and I'd find it but it'd go away...I know from my scans that I have a wiggleworm so he/she might be turning over when I'm trying. Glad you give yourself a pep talk!
So I'm still a giant ball of anxiety after my NT scan but I've had a few bright spots that have made me feel better. 1) I've spoken to at least 4 people who had a HIGHER number than us and they went on to have no chromosomal or structural issues and have healthy kids & 2) hubby foubdca study linking progesterone supplementation to higher nt measurements. Don't all freak out if you're on progesterone!!! It just showed a link and that almost all had elevated number by like .05. So plennnnnnnnty of people well under the 3 but they might've even been a smudge lower not on it and 3) the test is known to be flawed (bad reading if kid moves etc). So holding onto the fact that MY kid is still perfect in my belly until I'm told otherwise by definitive proof. Should it be a bad diagnoses...hubby and I had a heart to heart because I needed to know we'd back each other's decisions and be on the same page...it's a fear. I'd hate for it to tear at us... soooo feeling more upbeat today.
@Texafornian I'm so glad you are feeling better! I know this means absolutely nothing, but I really do feel like your little nugget is absolutely fine!
had my first appointment with my new primary OBGYN... i really don't like the adjustment from my RE to the world of "normal" pregnancies... I won't get another ultrasound until April 13th for the anatomy scan however she did try to pick up the heartbeat with a doppler today and she did get it for a couple of seconds.. she moved the doppler i think to try to get a stronger audio but then lost it and couldn't find it again haha oh well.. she said the heartbeat is def there so she didn't search for too long

Found the heartbeat at home tonight. Took a lot of searching, and pressing down fairly hard (I've got that extra fluff), and it faded in and out. Wiggle worm.
harleyquinn0621 have you googled elective ultrasounds in your area? Near me (south of Boston), I found two places that are only $45.
I'm a little nervous about my NT scan tomorrow. Even though in my normal person brain I know that this test is not that helpful and can cause undue worry. I wonder if I would have been this anxious if I didn't have a loss.
@jena333 I have looked at the elective ultrasounds... DH isn't super thrilled about the idea of paying for one since we have already had five ultrasounds, all covered 100% by the insurance, he feels like that should be enough (i'd get one every day if i could lol) i'm going to try to just be patient and be thankful for all the ones I have had and go by the OB schedule.
i'm sure you're NT scan will go great... even if the numbers are not perfect I wouldn't worry too much about it... when I went in for mine I had to be stern with myself and tell myself not to freak out over the results because it is not a diagnostic scan.... even when my dr went over my scan results, which all looked within normal, she ended with, "we'll have a better idea when the bloodwork comes back" , so the normal scan didn't even seem to give her a lot of information

How far along are you? 13w6d How are you doing? (Mentally, physically...) Well both of my doctors this week told me to stop taking my progesterone…
so I didn’t take it Tues night. Wed I had new pains and started to panic which
led to googling which led to more panic…. I immediately took my progesterone
and will do so until my prescription runs out. So mentally I’d say I’m a bit

@harleyquinn0621@Sugargirl1019 fingers crossed for your blood test results! The doctor called me with mine while I was on the train into work so I didn't answer-- the train car was full of silent commuters and I didn't want to have a freakout in front of all those people-- but seeing my phone ring and ring KILLED me. At least he told me the (normal) chromosome results in a voicemail and I just had to call back to harass a receptionist to tell me the sex.
One other thing-- are you waiting to buy cloth diapers for the reassurance of the chromosome test or the sex results? I really want to cloth diaper but I am a hopeless newb who knows nothing about it and if there are sex differences in types of cloth diapers I know even less than I thought!
@Sugargirl1019 hahahahaha I don't know why I didn't even think of that-- and I love all the crazy prints! here I was getting all worried about like secret penis-only cloth diaper technology...
Had my IPS ultrasound today and got to see our very active little baby! So much anxiety is gone and I think we'll tell the inner circle this weekend. Have to wait to see the Dr for the official results a bloodwork and all that but feeling so relieved! I cried in the room which is unlike me.
@Texafornian I'm going go back to the other thread to see what your measurement was. I can tell you with certainty that I know people that have had cfDNA come back abnormal and slightly elevated nuchal folds who had amnios with good results. I'm glad you're feeling a little better. All my T&Ps are with you Fx so hard for a healthy baby and mommy.

NT scan had good results. I went ahead and did the Panorama too (the geneticist said since I'll be 35 at my EDD, insurance would cover it). I BLEW HIS MIND, because he was talking about why they do the NT scan at this particular age, and why there is the extra fluid. I was like, "it's a lymphatic issue right? which corrects itself in another few weeks?" He laughed out loud and just could not believe I knew it, was so amazed. Looked at my husband like he was the luckiest man alive with this brilliant wife. I did not admit the knowledge came from about a 45 second perusal of Wikipedia :P
Dumb question: when we had our 7ish week scan, we were measuring two days ahead (So 7w4d instead of 7w2d). So I adjusted my "how far along I am" timeline. So I turn a new week on Mondays. Today's scan I'm back to the "old" time, so Zeb measured 12w2d instead of the 12w4 days we were based on the week 7 measurements. So my dumb question is this: do I re-adjust? So I'm 12w2d today instead of 12w4d?
Does how pregnant "I am" change depending on GA of the baby?
ETA: I know none of this truly matters, it's just something in my brain. And I created a low key journal, so I want to stay "on track" with the "right" dates.
My cell free DNA test (verifi) said the results take 7-10 days and i got the call the morning of the 7th day! Not 7th business day but the 7th day! So I'm sure it's the same for panorama. Probably the case for all cell free DNAs

By a day? Meaning like symptoms or milestones? No. I have a journal too and it made me mad to change my date.

@Hopefulmommy1980 I have a history pre-pregnancy of having occasional night terrors when super stressed and those have increased recently. Like, I'll see someone standing in our hallway and wake up screaming with my heart racing. Happened twice this past week.
@jmn1985 I used to have night terrors pretty regularly, based on a past traumatic experience....They have almost gone away the past couple of years but I am terrified being pregnant will bring them back since my dreams are so vivid.
