I'm sooo confused. So I just realized that my doc didn't do the Panorama...the lab did the Claritest. I was confused when the nurse said my claritest results were back...I tried Googling but no idea about it...not much info. I did see that one girl on a board heard there were more false positives with it so her office didn't switch to it. Little glimmer of hope. Anyone heard of this test or took it?

@Texafornian I am so sorry you're going through this. Lifting you and your family up in prayer! I always try to remember that if God will bring you to it, He'll bring you through it. Even if the result is Downs Syndrome, there is such a huge variation on the degree of disability. It's absolutely amazing how much they can accomplish. I pray that this is a false positive, but if not I pray for peace, comfort, wisdom and for you to be surrounded by love and support <3

@Texafornian I've never heard of that test. How odd! I will be praying for you and hoping this test is just whackadoodle!

My cousin is 53 and has Downs. My great aunt is 90. She just turned over primary care this past year. She loves him with all her heart, but older adults with Downs come with special challenges. If you would like to hear more, just let me know.

@Texafornian - no advice or experience. Just support. You get no judgement from me for the decisions you need to make for your family. I read a blog about a woman with a child who has Down Syndrome, who had no idea her daughter had it until she was born. She wrote a book as well, all about her experience and she has become a huge advocate for people with Down Syndrome. Some of her posts are a bit wordy, but beautifully written. You should check it out- https://kellehampton.com/

@Texafornian just wanted to say how sorry I am that you're going through this. I've mentioned this before (sorry if I sound like a broken record), but with my last PG, the scan showed my baby's brain did not fully develop- it didn't separate into two hemispheres, looked to be holoprocensaphaly. Which is a sign of T13 or T18. So I got the cell free DNA/ panorama (never heard of the other test you mentioned, sorry). Blood work came back positive for T13 and another scan confirmed holoprocensaphaly. We lost the baby. It was the hardest thing I have ever gone through and most likely will ever go through. I know our situations are slightly different, but if you need someone to vent to, I can relate. Also I follow a page on instagram, macymakesmyday. The mom has two children with Down syndrome and they always bring a smile to your face. Hang in there

@Texafornian I'm so sorry you're going through this.  I want you to know I very much admire your pragmatic approach when discussing your options.  Of course, I hope for happy news, but in the case that the outcome is not ideal, the decisions you and your husband make are yours alone and what is best for your family.  Sending you all my love.  <3

@harleyquinn0621 try not to panic! Did you have sex or see an OB lately or insert progesterone or something where a scrape could've occurred? FX that it's absolutely nothing. My SIL had bright red blood at 5m and it was just a random occurance.
Try and stay calm...let us know what the doc says. Xo

@harleyquinn0621 T&Ps for you. Hopefully it's stopped and baby looks good.

@Texafornian I completely understand what you're saying about worrying about your age and leaving the responsibility of caring for a special needs child to the sibling. Since we are older we have talked about the same concerns. I have a friend whose brother is about 40 and has Down's. His case isn't super severe but it isn't minor and he needs a lot of extra medical care and help. I never asked my friend what their long term plans were but I can do that. I'm hoping your level 2 goes well today.

@harleyquinn0621 I know that's super frustrating (when my doctor wouldn't see me after I spotted the first time, I was suuuuper stressed about it), but since it was just a small amount and you otherwise feel ok, it's encouraging that your doctor isn't worried! FX for no more spotting!

@lahearn18 You'll talk to us all day until here gets there, duh. But seriously, that will probably be the longest day of your life. @harleyquinn0621 I had some bleeding Sunday night and Monday morning. Mine was most likely caused by sex though. Hopefully everything is fine!
