March sounds so much warmer than February...can't wait for it to be consistently warm enough where I don't have to worry about putting a coat and hat on baby...and lugging all of it around...and trying to carry it all while I"m in a big warm coat...the simplicity of warm weather...
I feel like it was a mom fail last night...even though I'm just overreacting. Stupid February needs 2 more days in it! Tried to make a green hat for S to kick off the month of March and when I got done with it last night it is definitely way TOO big. It happens every time I follow a pattern - grr. Mad about my hat, it's gloomy in Iowa, and I have a headache. Happy March, Bumpies!
@FTM53 That's true. And my friend's 2 year old got a new hat out of the mess I'm so terrible at monthly pictures anymore and DH is too cheap for professional pictures so I figure it's the least I can do to try and be "that mom" that has her kid in festive wear for each holiday season. I'm just a day behind on this one!
It's hard enough for me to pull out the bucket and put M in a onesie for our monthly pictures. I'd never get them done if I had to coordinate the month to a theme or color. So mad props to you!
I went thru DS 's clothes today and sorted them out for online rummage sales. I'm hoping I priced them decently so people will actually buy them. I'm excited to have finally done it but I'm so sad that my baby is growing so fast.
I just sorted and organized all of M's last week. I'm hanging on to everything though, we haven't said if there will be another yet. I also got really sad! @DachshundMomma
Hoping to have a few more, so I'll hold on to most of his clothes, but I get sad every time I pack up a size that he's outgrown. I need to start packing up his 6mo clothes and I'm putting it off...

We've been in the 90's for the past 2 weeks so I guess at least now if it's warm it's in March. I love doing her monthly pictures. It's like a huge goal for me to get through another month.
I've been holding on to some of her stuff. But many items were passed along to me through friends from their kids or their friends kids. So i plan on passing along the clothes as well.

I kept quite a bit. The majority of what I got rid of were items I wasn't overly fond of or that were super boy. I'd like to have another but it won't be anytime soon. We move every 3 to 4 years so sadly I have to keep things at a minimum.
I have held onto everything, all of those newborn/3 months clothes are so just tiny and adorable and we plan to have a few more in the future. As for 6 months I will try to be better, because its just so much.
I don't know if anyone has this problem, but I squeeze C into her 6 months, when she really should be starting to wear 9 months, it just hurts my heart to put another size away
I received so many clothes from friends and family and my next door neighbor had a baby boy who is 3 months younger than AJ, so I've kept my favorites for future babies, but have passed most things on. I'll have to pack up 6mo stuff soon and it also makes me sad.
I try try really hard with the monthly photos and making sure he's had his "My 1st ..." outfits. As a working mama I get very little time with him, so I want those memories and extra effort. I did miss Valentine's Day though. It's so hard!!
What's everyone's game plan on pacifiers and when you're taking them away? Or am I nut for already thinking about it? I think we'll be taking it away around 1. But not sure if it'll be gradual or just cold turkey.
The only things that I've been able to give away (my friend has a Sept 2016 girl) are things she never got to wear. We will probably have another in the future so I'm hoping to be able to re-use them...and if not (or regardless really..) I hope to take squares from the super cute ones and make a quilt out of them.
She has been in 12 months for a while and most of them fit her...some of her pants she may need to go up to 18 months very soon (I get less attached to pants)...but I think she may be ready for 18 month pajamas HOW?!?! I can barely zip her 12 months over her thunder thighs. waaaaaa
As for the pacis....S LOVES her pacis. I keep 3 or 4 in her crib in case one falls out or gets thrown out at night she will have backups. When I go in to get her in the morning she has one in her mouth and one in each hand, haha. I only let her have them when she is legitimately upset or nap/bedtime. I will not let her walk/crawl around with one. With that being said...I'll let her use them probably until 2 unless she doesn't have an interest anymore, pedi says something different, etc because her time with it will be monitored and limited. She would have it in her mouth all day if I let her.
I totally go through an emotional roller coaster when switching Elijah to bigger size clothes or going up a diaper size! I'm happy he is growing but I'm sad he's not super little anymore! I also use old sizes until he busts out of them! And this time I'm buying 12 month clothes instead of 9 months (the next size) because he's growing so fast and I'm cheap and want the clothes to last longer! The 12 month sleepers don't seem roomy at all and E is pretty average sized. Also as he gets bigger, I'm getting a little baby fever.... I had two friends have babies this month and they're so teeny and precious!
We lucked out with pacifiers, when she started teething, she decided she was done (which of course was when I bought more for her), although when she naps she likes to hold onto one, but not use it. With parenting its all trial and error, I think you will know when she is ready to give it up. My plan for weening was to only have them in the crib or in the car during long drives.
We only do pacifiers when she sleeps. Neither her pedi or dentist are fans of pacifiers. We will quit pacifiers when DD2 turns 1 since the risk of SIDS isn't a big concern then. Unless she is teething, then we will wait until she's done teething.
Nice thing about having 2 girls is I'm reusing all DD1's clothes! I have a tiny bin of very special clothes I'm saving. My niece is 5 months younger than DD2 so I'm giving her the rest of the clothes. It's fun to see her in the outfits, which makes it easier to pack up and gift them. We are also thinking about moving so I'm all about cleaning and decluttering the house right now.
Another thought, has anyone been on Carters or Old Navy? The summer clothes are so stinkin' cute! I can't wait til summer so C can wear some bubble shorts and show off those chunky thighs.
@LDSJM123 we got lucky that she ditched it on her own. Our friends told us cold turkey, no later than one! LOL We have some friends struggling big time with their 2yo. I guess fighting with a toddler is a lot easier than a baby!
Umm mm I am old navy OBSESSED! My mother and me I should say. Their stuff is too freaking cute! And if on sale, super reasonable.
I literally just bought baby j's entire summer wardrobe from carters this weekend. I had planned on just getting like two things and spent way more than planned.
@HoneyBear40 Haha yep. We're on a super tight budget right now but I seem to forget when I see all the baby clothes. So I have to not go near them! Last time I wanted to get a new pair of pants for me I stood in front of them for like half an hour debating...and they were on the clearance rack....at Meijer.... lol

@HoneyBear40 Yes. My husband would probably FREAK if he knew what all I bought and spent. I rarely think of myself anymore. No ones looking at me anyway, if she's with me, haha!! I did however, make it to Costco last Friday to grab Toms for $29. Couldn't pass that up. And managed to walk out with just the Toms. But that's because we went to Old navy beforehand!! Lol
I know a while ago ladies were asking about other options to prop baby up in the bath. I wasn't ready at that point but I think we are now. Has anyone found anything good? She really seems to like the idea of sitting up vs laying back in the baby bath.
@tiffrox81 - i was just thinking that the past few nights. I believe I was the one that brought it up and ended up making the infant seat work...but as of the past few days I think we may be done. I start her in it to wash her hair but she is all over the place and sliding out...so once we are clean I just take it out and she sits up and plays. Not sure how effectively I'm going to be able to wash her lady bits when she isn't laying back...I'm sure I'll figure it out...
M just sits up in the tub and has a grand ol' time. She loves playing with her bath toys. I put enough water that that if she's on her tummy with her head up, her chin just touches the water. It is slippery and she has no fear, but she has a blast crawling around. As for washing, I just dump a cup of water on her head. Gets her used to water being in her face like swim lessons And I have her stand to wash her body. No biggie.
I'm so excited registration opens tomorrow for swim!! - that is a good point though, didn't think of that! And DUH - she can totally stand so yet again...didn't think of that! Totally over thinking this, ha
Ok, good to know! I usually sit in our tub with her.....her in her tub, and me right outside it in the regular bath tub. I might give it a whirl removing her tub and just keeping her with me, and less water. If that's too much then I think I'll try that blow up duck. That looks super cool! And very easy to travel with!!
Anyone have Robeez shoes for their kiddo? M is super duper couch surfing and I wanted to get her a couple pairs of good shoes. The reviews are good, but hows the traction on the bottom? They seem like they would be slippery.
We have Robeez shoes. They are great for new walkers because they are so flexible! DD1 wore them outside and never slipped. She wasn't on ice or anything. We always took shoes and socks off when she was inside on hardwoods. Are there certain situations that you are worried about LO slipping? Honestly we only did shoes outside or public places, so 85 percent of the time we do no shoes, so I'm not sure I'm really helping answer...
I was just thinking about on hardwoods, carpet, and whatever the mall floors are made from in addition to being outside. She has a pair of moccasins and they're cute, but very slippery when we're out and about and she wants to finger walk with us.

months pregnant so that's my tribute to him since they never got to meet. I also have the PB dachshund lamp

DD1 loved her duck bath tub! It had soft blow up edges so if she fell over it didn't hurt. Plus it didn't waste a full tub of water.
