And yeah things like hip pain come up for everyone around this time. Those of us with issues like symphysis pubis dysfunction have been having this problem for a while and now it's getting worse.
There are likely to be about 50+ other complaints you'll have about 3rd trimester as we get deeper into it...more heartburn, pains in lots of other places, charley horses, rib pain, difficulty sleeping, etc.... But one way or another it will be done in 3ish months!
I have ALWAYS wanted to use this gif
How about a 3rd tri perk? Getting so close!
1st Baby 5/12/17, Henry
1) people know you're pregnant and even though that's a mixed bag, it's typically pleasant (people wanting to help / be polite with physical matters like carrying crap/giving up seats, people being congratulatory, etc.)
2) I have an anterior placenta, so this doesn't apply to everyone, but as I progress the movement is more interesting and prominent. For posterior placentas you get good movement throughout 2nd tri but for anterior it really is a lot better in 3rd tri (until it gets very annoying for any placenta!) I definitely have prominent/specific movement I can see from the outside now, because it's off to the side where the placenta must not be.
and...that's it.
Another perk: Baby shower (I love gifts. Like, a lot).

Baby shower and other "acquiring of baby stuff" is another perk that I completely forgot about because this is our 3rd! My MIL did say something about wanting to have a shower (because this is the first one we're having since we've moved near her) but we sort of shot it down unintentionally! Or maybe intentionally...I don't want to be tacky and we don't need but 3 things, all big ticket, so no good for a shower (carseat, glider, something else I can't remember). She might have some kind of non-shower party after the baby is born, which I think would be a lot more appropriate.
ETA cant complete without a meme
@kat81 I feel like people don't talk about the painfulness of it enough! I have been surprised. I don't have any stretch marks yet, but this discomfort makes me think they may be coming (noooo, please no).

Relieved I'm not the only one having trouble getting socks on. If the weather stays warm, I might be switching to slide ons soon.
And seriously, I've been having trouble with socks for weeks. This belly just doesn't squish. I need one of those contraptions that you place the sock in and then step right into it.
of you bc I stand and walk all day and putting them on is a huge chore. Not gonna lie...I've had DH help me a few times.

And on the movements, this little lady is driving me crazy. It's nice to know she's bouncing around and ok in there, but sometimes she does things that just totally startle me. It's like I have an invisible friend following me around and poking/pranking me all day. People must think I'm crazy at work when I just suddenly say "Ouch!"
I too can now see movement from the outside. Baby knocked my phone off my belly the other day!
@Kipperoo That gave me a good laugh. H will hear my going "owww, you're poking meeee" and be like who are you talking to?! The baby, duh.
