I know we're not leading the pack but we're up to 4 teeth now! The top two broke the skin literally like overnight!! The first two really had an effect on her. I have to say I didn't see these coming. I always give her my finger to gnaw on and I swear I'd yet to feel anything. Her attitude has been fine and sleep only really changed last night. Nothing like what we went through when the first two came in!! Maybe that's the norm? Once they get used to teeth they're not phased as much?
  • @tiffrox81 I have asked quite a bit of moms about this! Pretty much all of them said that by the time their kids got the molars they had no idea when they came in at all. I have been told that each tooth gets easier and easier.
  • DD1 struggled with all her teeth coming in but she was an early teether, not the norm. She had 6 teeth at 6 months, 12 at 12 months and 2 year molars at 18 months.

DD2 is already having less trouble with her teeth. I hope most the future teeth are easier too!
  • @holly142 I have a feeling that what your DD1 went through is what my LO will do too. He has 7 teeth at 7 months and each time he has teethed it's been difficult. I'm hoping it gets easier as he gets older, but so far they have all been pretty rough :(
  • Anybody buy sunscreen yet?  I imagine that will become necessary soon.
  • Still no teeth here either! Which I'm glad for for my sake, he's already a biter when he nurses...and it hurts without teeth!

  • Last year I bought Honest Company sunscreen from Costco and was happy with it. I also have a pop up sun shade that I used with DD1. She wasn't old enough to wear sunscreen her first summer. (Pedi said 6 months or older.) This year I'm going to try making my own sunscreen. My friend has a really easy recipe that works well. DD1 has bad eczema so I like limiting the ingredients.
  • Do you count months by actual months or by how many weeks old your LO is? Like DS is 28 wks today so he's technically 7 months if you went by 4 weeks makes a month...
  • @holly142 do you mind sharing your recipe? I may make my own too
  • @holly142 Yeah last year we bought one of those umbrellas that has UV protection as well, its the one that is a sun tent that can also be an umbrella.

We bought the babyganics sunscreen a this week when it got in the 70's this week.
  • Here is the sunscreen recipe! Just make sure that the ingredients are mixed really well. https://pinsandprocrastination.com/how-to-make-homemade-sunscreen-spf-30-40-and-good-for-your-skin/

To count Elise's age I go by the date she was born each month. So, because she was born on the 2nd, she will be 8 months on the 2nd. That is how the pediatrician counts and it is a fairly common way to do it, so that is what I do too!

Oh ok. I only ask because he was born on the 31st and a lot of months don't have one for me to go by.
  • @kmurdock925 YES. I really regret not getting a bigger diaper bag. I ended up getting a small cross body purse to hold some of my own stuff because the "mom pocket" is full of hand sanitizer and boogie wipes...
  • Man I am dealing with a clingy cranky baby right now. It feels like a leap but we are supposedly 2 weeks away from the next one. It's only 8 am on Monday and I'm already exhausted! It's going to be a loooong week....
  • @kmurdock925 I'm not sure mine even zips lol. It's always super full.
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one!  I've got a pretty big bag but somehow always seem to fill it to the max.
  • Guilty of a full bag! There's been some trips where I have 2 separate bags - 1 with the quick hitter things and the other with stuff I think we might need.

@kmurdock925 Do you have a diaper bag organizer? I had been feeling like my bag was an overflowing bottomless pit when C was first born. I had so much stuff crammed into it that it was a struggle to fasten the button & loop closure and I could never find what I was looking for quickly. I bought an organizer off of Amazon at the suggestion of someone on here and it's really helped me keep my diaper bag in check. All of the necessities have their own little space now so I always know exactly where everything is. The only time I ever feel like my bag is crammed now is when I know we will be out ALL day & I have to pack the bottle cooler/ice packs and a few small toys.
  • @jjtruffles - I do!  And I really like it.  I think I get paranoid and just pack sooo much stuff...multiple bottles...in case one spills or something...several toys, like 8 diapers, 2 changes of clothes...because you just don't know, shout wipes, bibs, burp clothes...I can probably ditch the receiving blankets but my mom is obsessed with having one on her shoulder and she is usually with me.

I've went by months since 4 months. Something about 13 weeks old sounded funny to me.
  • Mine is always full to the max due to a couple instances of running out of clothes or diapers at the worst times! So now I always have like 3 outfits and wayyy too many diapers in the bag, along with a hand towel, wipes, a couple of toys, socks, and random other crap depending on the phase we're in! I use a backpack as our diaper bag though, so usually I can cram it all in there!

  • 1) I count months from the date of the month, not weeks
    2) So guilty of the too full bag. I'm determined to clean it out and edit to only what I truly NEED.
    3) no teeth yet! But I know they'll be here soon, super cranky/clingy pants lets me know they're coming.
    4) I use the Bella Bee baby sunscreen. It's SPF 50 and is in a little stick that really handy.
  • @winnie1122 love it!  Maybe I need a backpack...
  • Yes, guilty of the full bag.  My mom friend makes fun of me for it because she doesnt carry a diaper bag. Guess who's kid had a blow out a couple weeks ago and had to use baby j's spare onesie that was 2 sizes too small... yeah that's righr the child of the person who doesn't carry a diaper bag.

We just bought babyganics because its like 85 degrees here and we do stroller strides outdoors.

@arhodes6 I know how you feel. Baby J was like this the past two weeks. It makes the days seems so long. Luckily as of satuday she has been so much better.
  • Hello! TB logged me out and I've been too lazy to log back in. Ain't nobody got time to remember passwords.

anyway, on the sunscreen topic, anyone have an outdoor playpen then like? Preferably with a sun shade. It's just too much of a pain to break down the pnp for a few mins outside.

no teeth here yet! Just a very frustrated almost-crawler (mostly does the airplane while wiggling and doesn't understand her immobility)
  • Thanks, ladies! Rash is getting worse unfortunately. Took her in to the pedi today, but there's not much we can do that we aren't already doing. @LDSJM123 hope she feels better soon!!

    1. Still no teeth here either. I'm OK with that!
    2. Yes to the full diaper bag! How does one little person need so much stuff?
  • Elise is becoming incredibly active at night now. Anyone else being woken up multiple times a night because their LO is getting stuck in the slats of the crib?? She's just rolling around and crawling.
  • @shanparadise This is Baby J! I thought I was the only one who needed the bumpers.

Does anyone have any mom friends who constantly make remarks about your parenting or how your child is different? How do you deal with it? I've been just reminding her that all babies are different, but now I'm running out of patience. I just want to be able to get her to just stop.
