Glad to hear you're getting good tracings (even if they're taking 1-2 nurses, 1-2 hours). FX for your Doppler study on Monday. Please continue to keep us updated! Continued good vibes being sent your way!
@bacorrea Yep - round 2 of betamethasone is this afternoon. Plan is to watch fetal monitor day by day and intervene if the tracing heads south. M/W/F umbilical blood flow studies otherwise.
I haven't been on in days, so just seeing this. Sending you lots of good vibes! Hoping all goes well tomorrow and that babies can cook as long as possible!
Growth ultrasound and umbilical Dopplers were stable at the very least! Growth for little boy is slower than his sister so that could be better (he's becoming more discordant from her as time goes on). Umbilical blood flow was better (all in the forward direction!) but MFM (maternal-fetal medicine, the highest-risk OB docs) warned us that we might see that temporarily due to the two days of steroids I got. But I'll take it! Heart rate monitoring continues to go well. I have intermittent BH ctx and two of them were kind of scary and big on the monitor this noon but the OB said "Lets not go looking for trouble" (aka let's not worry until there's a real reason to). So, all in all exactly where I want to be (stable). Thanks so much for your prayers and thoughts.
@mdlorenz so thankful that you guys are hanging in there and being stable! Hooray for baby B to have better cord Doppler today (even if temporary). Keep up the good work babies!

Thank you for the update! This is good news. At this point every day longer they're in is a good thing. But if you're 29 weeks you're in GOOD shape. That is when my sister delivered her twins and everything turned out great for her kids. It sucked to have a long NICU stay but it was all temporary and her boys had no lingering effects of having been born so early. I hope that you have a similar experience except that you are able to stay pregnant even longer and have less NICU time! Good luck!
One weird tip -- I don't know what your health insurance is like (or even what ACA covers with regard to this), but it might make sense to plan now for a long NICU stay. I think my sister was able to get medicare at the last minute (this was many years before ACA existed).
@kat81 Thank you for the story about 29 weekers And insurance - I was just thinking about exactly how this antepartum stay (and the NICU stay) will get worked out. Might see if I can talk to someone in the hospital business office today.
@mdlorenz I'm so glad to hear things are stable. You have absolutely been in my thoughts lately! I'll keep sending good vibes that those babies stay healthy!
@mdlorenz That's a great update! Hopefully the week continues to go as well. We're all thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way! Keep us posted.
Umbilical Doppler was "stable" today and the MFM didn't even come into the u/s room to convey that news, so unimpressed they were. So that's good? Supposedly we will revisit the long-term plan on Friday after the next Doppler. Maybe I can go home with lesss frequent monitoring? Maybe I'll stay here another week? Or three?
@mdlorenz: Thanks for the update---I've been thinking about you guys! That sounds like good news, even if you don't have a clear idea yet of what's to come... How have you been spending your time? Hang in there, mama!
