I had the stomach bug a few weeks ago, and threw up maybe 7 times in a few hours. It was horrendous. But I had. no. choice. in the matter, it came up anyways. I hate throwing up, the last time I did was when I had food poisoning at 21.
I hate throwing up, too. And I can't force myself, even if I am feeling sick. First trimester was awful cause I felt nauseated all the time...like actually 100% of the time. But, I think it would have felt way worse if that was accompanied by throwing up all the time, too.
My WTF is from yesterday being the first time I sneezed and pissed my pants on the way to the bathroom...seriously only had that happen once last pregnancy and I was well into my 3rd tri. Now I'm worried about what happens when you're not home...
I wear pantiliners when I leave the house.
It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
Add me to Team No-Puke! I would rather feel nauseated (or have other reasonable ailments) for WEEKS rather than throw up just once. H doesn't get it--he doesn't really mind it and is on Team Get-It-Out. He threw up a lot as a kid from reflux issues, eating too fast, etc. but I just found out a couple of weeks ago (when he caught a stomach bug from my brothers) that up until that point, he had NEVER had a stomach bug!!! WTF?! Maybe that's why he doesn't mind it so much? *Knock on wood* I haven't thrown up since early high school and I will do everything within my (limited) power to avoid it. In fact, puking is the thing that scares me most about having kids!

This has been happening to me for weeks. Best strategy I've found: when you feel it coming on, just stop and cross your legs hard. Not 100% effective, but it helps

this is what I do! I have been getting constant colds, like legitimately one every week. If I don't brace for impact (the sneeze) I will pee myself. Although, I have super weak kegel muscles, which I found out at a young age as I was a gymnast and would pee myself when I tumbled.
Not great here either! Sleeping terribly because of heartburn and I also completely lost my bladder just yesterday when I sneezed (which I have never done before). On the MIL rant, DH just told her we are pregnant yesterday and she said "well is it you?". I suppose to imply it may not be:/ I wanted to scream. I'm also team get it over with! I can't hold on. I want stomach bugs gone asap!
@Jen_Shoes@livin514 This is what I get for being stubborn and holding it all the time when I was younger, I just hope this is an isolated incident and not the begging of a trend for the rest of this pregnancy
We are supposed to go on a mini vacation tomorrow, which is really just DD and I tagging along with DH on a work trip. I stayed late to get annoying sub plans ready. Now DD is saying her throat hurts and she has a slight fever. Also DH's boss just called and might want him to reschedule his trip. So...manybe no mini vacation? I'd be super bummed.

I'm glad I'm not the only moody one... This morning I almost cussed out the big, mean, impolite security guard that made me throw out an unpeeled orange. How dare he separate a pregnant woman from her snack. How. Dare. He. No but really, what was I going to do with it? Throw it at someone? I wanted to cry after that. I've never been this emotional in my life.
Between the crankiest toddler in the world who decided to sing at 3:30am and scream at 5:30am in a hotel room, and the most negative spouse in the world, and driving 4 hours home with both of them, I am OVER today. I cried at breakfast. Just done.
@RedInLove That's pretty smart, is it absorbant enough?
I don't use the super paper thin ones, those are not enough. But you don't need a full on maxi pad either. I tend to buy the Always without wings, probably labeled for 'light' absorbency vs heavy, and there's enough absorbency to hold a good sniss. They're pretty long too, so you're covered whether you're sitting or standing.
It’s not that I don’t like you, it’s that I don’t know you. Stranger Danger.
Also, you will not be able to fully control your urinary flow for some time after delivery as your pelvic floor muscles will be shot and need to recover, so you'll need them then too.

WTF to pregnancy tears. I can't tell if I have the usual winter blues, if I'm actually feeling depressed, or if it's just hormones, but I totally lost it tonight.

@RedInLove It wasn't an issue for me with my first pregnancy, I had one peeing incident when I was getting ready for work and that was it, even after burth, but I think maybe after this one I might need to work on strengthening my cervix or something because that was really no fun
@chailife34 - oh I'm so sorry! Traveling with toddlers is so hard when they're grumpy. Add a gumpy spouse on top of it, and it's just the worst.
@kns1988 - pregnancy tears are mean! Hopefully after you got them all out, you felt better!
My WTF - I took a vacation day today. I've been overwhelmed at work and at home and feeling exhausted, and I really just wanted a day where I slept in and could stay in bed all day watching tv. I've been up since 3:45, because apparently my body rejects even the mere thought of sleeping in!!
I know it's Thursday now but I can't remember which thread was about exhaustion...I've been up every night somewhere between 3-5 to pee. Then I can't get back to sleep or I may doze or have the really light sleep but you don't really sleep deal...it's horrible. Causing headaches and more irritability lol but bright side I get to see baby boy today!
"A day without laughter is a day wasted." ~Charlie Chaplin
@BabyMC517 have you tried taking a unisom before bed? I usually can fall asleep ok on my own but having that on board keeps me groggy enough on my pee trips that I can fall asleep again quickly.
Add me to the team no throw up (unless i'm drunk then I get some superpower that makes me NGAF and would rather have it out then in). Throwing up is what freaks me out the most with DD. I know it happens, but I FREAK OUT when I hrea about stomach bugs going around.
@OmegaRose3 I had bronchitis for about a week and a half and was literally peeing every time i coughed no matter if i had just went to the bathroom or not. I have graduated from regular period panty liners to the Always Discreet... which are in the same family as depends pads but not as bulky and they are just like extra absorbent period pads. I like them way better. Now even though I'm not still coughing as much, i wear them to keep from peeing while I sneeze or something.
Oh i also forgot to add... I think the newborn stage is the worst. I remember there was a time I think maybe a week after coming home that my mom came over and i finally let her sit up with baby and Fiance and I both got to lay down, at the same time. And just the feeling of him laying next to me was so surreal because we literally had just been trading on and off the entire time. I don't know why that sticks with me but it does.
I know Wednesday is over, but...ugh. I'm having a morning. I'm training for a new project at work and while the project itself is whatever, I hate the training. The person training me is nice enough, I just don't do things the way she does (I don't print every email I receive) and I feel like she's annoyed with me for not having the process down perfectly. It's an easy enough task, but it's regarding politics and there are A LOT of exceptions to things and they're the sort of thing you'd learn with time, not just in a week ish of training.
Wednesday may be over, but I need to vent. I was so excited because I would qualify for FMLA this time (I hadn't been in the job long enough last time), and today I found out that I work exactly 3 hours too little a week to qualify. So now I must go to my boss to see what kind of vacation he would be cool with me taking after I receive approval to return at my 6 week appointment. He is wonderful and I have high hopes he will be understanding, but now I feel guilt about asking for the time that I wouldn't have felt had it fallen under FMLA. It will take me a bit to work up the courage to ask about it. Maybe when I feel like I am more on top of my work. ugh
@Louise_Belcher That stinks! I'm sure they know you'll want some kind of leave, so DO NOT feel guilty! I hate that you don't qualify for FMLA. Does your job have any maternity leave?
Now you all have my worried that so far I have had unicorn newborns who haven't been that bad and now baby #3 is going to exhaust me! I don't think the newborn stage is that exhausting. I actually really love the newborn stage (it may be my favorite!)

@jayandaplus No maternity leave here. Either you qualify for FMLA or not and you must use sick and vacation to have any of it paid. The University is very giving with sick and vacation time, so I have plenty to cover, it is now just getting approval to use vacation time after the 6 weeks of sick leave (assuming that is when the doctor approves me to return).

I will send you mine! The whole first year can kind of suck it in my book, 0-6 months especially! Toddlers don't bother me as much, I can handle that for whatever reason.

I agree with @WombThereItIs , BUT...I also just don't really like babies. My SIL sent me a video of my 1 month old nephew doing 1 month old things today (cooing, sticking out his tongue, etc) and I was like "ugh...". Which I know makes me sound like a terrible person, but give me a toddler any day over a 0-6 month baby. Although I do have to say I'm looking forward to some baby snuggles now that my 2.5 year old only snuggles during story time.

It definitely subsided for me over time, I just had to be mindful if I started to feel a full bladder to go sooner rather than later. But it came back quick a couple months ago, before I was even showing wugh this one.

I've seriously considered changing my career to be a NICU nurse or or something along the lines of dealing with newborns, but I don't think I could handle or would love the sick newborn stage. DH thinks I'm nuts too for loving the newborn stage.
I pretty much like all stages of kids actually. But that's why I chose a degree that focuses on birth-age 8! 10 year olds and up? No thank you, the attitude kills me.
