  • @Joslynj11

i know I know I will muster the strength to keep going if this time doesn't work but I don't know how, my Dr does inital beta just 5 days after and then repeats at day 10, it always seem too early to me especially since this last cycle at day 5 it was positive but then at day 10 it hadn't doubled like it should so I probably would have been saved some disappointment but at the same time it's nice not having to wait and play mind games for 2 weeks.

I had another ultrasound sound today and lining is 8 tri- level so that's good. I'll find out later today what meds they will be adding in.

  • Our February FET group is tiny so far, but I kind of love it. I had a hard time following everyone in the January FET group.

@kjplaza A day 5 Beta sounds like a mixed blessing. I think that I might be able to hold off from POAS if I had a day 5 & day 10 beta. It's just so hard to go 10 whole days without any contact from the clinic after having so many appointments and such leading up to the TWW.

In my complete ignorance, I thought one can do FET the month after the retrieval/freeze all cycle. I still don't know yet how it works, but since I've got OHSS now I think the best course would be to wait until March to let my body heal. I think this is what most women do, wait out a cycle before FET?

@bestofjoyYes, that's what my doctor made me do and I had no issues with the retrieval. I know that there are doctors that don't make you wait that extra month, but a lot do.

  • I *might* be joining for feb fet. Was scheduled, but I'm away on vaca and my period has already started. I think it was supposed to be a mostly natural fet (no meds ordered but they said they sometimes used estrogen patches if needed) and I already have my endometrium. I go return to America tomorrow and go see my doc on Monday. After bw and u/s they'll decide if I can fet. Hope to be cycling with y'all and keeping my fingers crossed all is well for everyone!!
  • I had an u/s on Thurs and they said the lining was perfect, it was at 8.  Blood work said we still needed a couple of days, could be 3.  Blood work on Friday didn't go up much.  Estrogen on Sat and today was 74, it didn't change.  Have to go in tomorrow for another ultrasound tomorrow to make sure I still have a growing follicle (day 10 it was at 11). Has this happened to anyone else and what was the outcome?   I don't want to wait another month.  We've been waiting to try again since October.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! DH and I just got home from a quick weekend trip to Florida (...it was pretty chilly and rainy the whole time so we mostly hung out at my parents house, and drove to restaurants to eat and wore pants and long sleeves, so if there were any rogue mosquitoes around, I still wore bug spray. Even though Florida said that there is no active zika at the moment... ::shrugs::)

Tomorrow I have my sono HSG and then we just have to get the approval renewal from insurance and I can start my stims! I'm thinking (if all goes to plan) that I'll get to stop BCPs around Valentine's Day and will start the stims the following weekend. smiley

Assuming the ER will be at the very end of Feb or beginning of March, so i'm officially not going to have a Feb FET....I will stay here and hang around/lurk if y'all will still have me, though!

  • @Holzie During my last FET cycle, my biggest follicle was 10mm on day 10 and my estrogen was 40. My follicle grew about 1mm/day and my estrogen didn't shoot up until day 16, when my follicle was about 19mm. I didn't ovulate until day 17. I was doing a natural cycle and it just took that long for the follicle to mature, which hopefully is the case for you. How did your next ultrasound go?

  • @SingleGeneMe - i honestly don't know much about FETs yet...other than the basics and what I've read on here, I haven't focused much on it since it's taken so long to get to the part of even starting the BCPs for the stims cycle...lol...
On a natural FET cycle, are you monitored so the FET can be scheduled right at the time you're supposed to ovulate? Or are you supposed to have already ovulated before the FET? I'm assuming, perhaps wrongly, that with a medicated FET, the ovulation will be supressed with the meds?

  • @caseyw8784 Yes, for a natural FET they monitor until your day of ovulation. On that day you do a HCG trigger shot, and then 5 days later they do the transfer (since the embryo is 5 days old).

  • Ladies! I start my minivelle patch tomorrow morning. Starting to get nervous!! Also dealing with allergies with our crazy weather here in Arkansas. As all of you know there not much you can take! How's everyone else?
  • Hi all,
I'm super new to the boards, but I just started meds for a February FET and figured I'd say hi. This is my first FET after two IVF cycles. Fingers crossed!
  • @Bharvey10 I have horrible allergies year-round. I take zyrtec and rhinocort nasal spray daily, as well as benadryl if needed. All 3 of these are category B pregnancy drugs and my doctor said they are safe. Of course, maybe you are avoiding category B drugs all together, but my allergies have always been rather debilitating, so for me the benefits outweigh the risk.

  • I can take Zyrtec and Benadryl. My PCP likes for me to take Flonase nasel spray and I made sure it was okay to continue to take and she had no problem with it. So I hope maybe some relief soon.
  • @SingleGeneMe Thanks! Added my info.
  • I'm going to be out in February after all. I fear I'm not going to have PGS normals. Even if I did, by some miracle, I'm going to wait until March because I'm just getting over this nasty OHSS (I didn't expect this to be such a terrible experience).
I'm going to be rooting for you all and stalking this board though. Good luck!
  • Hey y'all I am on track for a feb FET. Currently on Lupron and EOI. I have a lining check this Thursday and will hopefully be able to set the transfer date. We are thinking around 2/10. Starting to get nervous about the POI. I have not had any symptoms with estrogen so I am hoping I do ok with progesterone as well.

What is everyones anticipated transfer date? Anyone on track for next week?
  • I go in for a lining check and blood work on the 14th and hope to be able to set a transfer date then! Good lock to you! I'm sorry @bestofjoy babydust to you that March will be your month!
  • @PCOSat25 that's great! Don't worry too much about the PIO the anticipation is definitely worse than the injection itself. I did have a lot of knots and itching after doing them for so many weeks my first FET but the 2nd time no major reactions.

Afm i had my lining check yesterday measuring at 10 tri and transfer is all set for 2/7!

@PCOSat25 Awesome news to get your tentative dates! So exciting to hear you are close to transfer!! The PIO shots really aren't as bad as most people think :)

@kjplaza Hey there transfer buddy!! I am glad to see that things are confirmed with you for Tuesday. I am still waiting on my BW to come back and then I should be able to confirm.

AFM: I had my baseline this morning and things are looking good. We had a few hiccups with the insurance coverage and my out of pocket expectation considering that I went into the meeting thinking we were good to go. I had to speak with a few representatives from the business department but they pulled some strings and are going to let me transfer first and take care of my responsibilities when I get paid again a few days after. I a bit worried they were going to cancel my transfer but thank my lucky stars they are going to let me proceed.  I don’t know when I will breathe a sigh of relief with all of this because I swear another shoe is going to slam down any minute..Right now I am just going to try and continue to take everything one day at a time…So the good news is, transfer is confirmed 2/7! They said my lining looked great, a whopping 11 so now I just wait for my BW to come back and we're a go. So nervous but so happy finally get the chance to try again!

Hard to believe it's Feb. already!  Good luck to all transferring this coming week!!

Afm I had an appt. with my doctor today to talk about this cycle and transferring 1 vs. 2.  My husband was pushing for 2.  We are going with 1 though, just all around safer for all at this point I feel.   I have my baseline appt. on Sunday, lining check on 2/18, and if all goes well transfer on 2/23!

  • @ChocolateIsLife Good luck on your transfer tomorrow!

Is anyone else doing a natural transfer?? I had my first follicle/lining check today, and it seems like I'm going to ovulate sooner than last cycle. Today was cycle day 10 and my lining was only 6mm. Last time it never got past 8mm. I've been doing a regimen of red raspberry leaf tea 2x day, pomegranate juice 8oz/day, vitamin E, vitamin B-complex and a pre-natal vitamin....alas, I don't think any of it helped.

  • Good luck tomorrow, @ChocolateIsLife!! Fingers crossed for you. =)
  • @hibiscus118 we are only transferring one as well. I really wanted to do two but my doctors gave me a big fat NO. I am young and it is my first transfer so they said it just was not worth it. I just secretly want twins so I can NEVER DO THIS AGAIN!!!
  • @PCOSat25 my doctor basically said the same thing!  I also have high blood pressure (hereditary ☹️) so that was my hang up with putting two in as opposed to my DH who wants this so bad so 2 sounds good in his mind.

Has anyone thought of or gotten a massage before their transfer?

I just couldn't relax so I got back up (I lay down while DH does the shot) and grabbed my phone and started playing music to zone out to. I had my music on shuffle and the song that come on was the world championship song from pitch perfect 2 and it just seemed so to fit so perfectly starting off with "who runs the world?" And ending with "flashlight" which could represent either my future baby or DH and I had to fight back the tears! To top it all off i couldn't feel any of the shot after all the work up mentally.

My dr also only will let us transfer 1 although If this cycle fails and we move onto a 4th I'll be pushing really hard to transfer 2.

  • @kjplaza Sorry to hear about you mini-meltdown but I completely understand. Especially since this is number 3 for both of us. I have been trying my hardest since my last BFN to really lay it down this time and just go with the flow. So far I have been way less emotional this go around and for some strange reason have a sense of peace. Glad that you could zone out with your tunes and I am so happy that the universe found a way to really make them connect with you in that moment. Big hug to you girlie! We got this, 2/7/17 is our day  <3
