Re: Bring your venting here!
@laurenm2123 I have definitely done the guest room sleeping. I usually feel too guilty leaving DH to do it for a week, but it's coming to that. Right now, unfortunately, the guest bed is covered in junk from taking down Christmas but not having the garage organized to put it away.
@annaf2011 No alternatives discussed, other than DH being willing to sit by his crib for hours and just hang out if Miles just needed to see him to fall asleep, as long as he wasn't crying
@meggyme That's an excellent suggestion if we can get back to a CIO method that DH agrees with. We tried a week of sitting next to his crib and trying to pat and shush him to sleep. That just resulted in rolling around in the crib, stretching through the bars and trying to pull himself up to get into my arms any way he could. The one night (actually one 3 minute period, and 3 minutes of a 5 minute period) where we stayed outside of his room, he screamed so hard he gagged and choked himself. That was when DH gave up on that method

anyways you said he wouldn't take a cold bottle, could you buy a bottle warmer? I had one for my boys and it was great, they were very picky and only liked warm bottles, Charlotte could care less. Is there anything stimulating in his room that could be making it harder for him to fall back asleep. Charlotte likes looking at her angry birds star wars sheets and I've noticed it helps her put herself back to sleep sometimes. She'll just look at them and scratch at them and then slowly fall back to sleep. She's not STTN but she's having a hard time getting in 24 oz a day so she's hungry in the middle of the night. I wish I had a magic trip but after 3 kids I've realized they are all different and you just have to try stuff to figure it out. Oh and we ended up bed sharing with my oldest because he wouldn't sleep more then 2 hrs. I'm hoping Charlotte is not the same because I hated bed sharing and never wish to do it again.
Second, bad sleepers are the worst!!! My daughters didn't sleep through the night until after a year... I think this was size related as they were 12 and 13 lbs at a year. This kid sleeps ok, he wakes up 2-3 times a night, I'm assuming because of his small stature as well. I bought one of those fish soother things for his crib and it has really helped pull him to sleep. I found ours at once upon a child so that was nice, otherwise they are kind of pricy.
@Tawny87He is a peanut (14 1/2 lbs), so that might be waking him up, but I don't think that's what is keeping him up, I think that's just wanting to be in Mommy's arms. Buh

Do you have a white noise machine? Or what about rubbing his clean sheet all over you so it smells like you to try and comfort him?
Baby #2 Due 3/7/20
I know...I just wish I could protect her forever
My two year old is not sleeping well at night, and I feel like she gets ignored too much because she is so independent most of the time that the other kids monopolize things. I don't have time for playgroups with her like I did with my oldest.
The baby is so content, but she has to spend at least an hour and a half in the car each day taking her siblings around. I just feel burnt out and in need of s break, and like I'm failing at everything. Ugh!
i know it will all pass, it's just a hard time right now
@Tawny87 I'm worried she might not STTN till 1 yr which would suck but she's my last so I don't want her first birthday to come to quick.
thanks for the support ladies!
Ugh yeah the colds is always what kills our sleep habits. Especially because Preston sucks his thumb to go to sleep and can't do that when he's congested so he gets even angrier.
