I could seriously live on granola and raisins in milk, but I have always been this way. I also love my veggies and fruits. I guess that means that my old good eating habits are back. Yay!
Iv had a new obsession with cereal and raisins too, I want it all the time!. I'm having a hard time having smoothies in the morning though they have started making me feel a bit queasy.
I'm just so damn hungry. All the time. It never lets up. And I make awful food choices.
Yeah, I know the feeling. I usually have awesome self control, but really lacked it in the first semester. What are your cravings/awful food choices? When I am craving chocolate or icecream or candy, I usually have a bowl of either honey granola, a piece of sweet fruit like mango, sometimes two or three of them, or a bowl of sugar puffs (less than healthy, but still better than a whole bag of raisinettes). Or are your cravings more of the potato chip variety?
@CarsonsMommy anything. Seriously. Any food in front of me. I just ate a McChicken, nuggets, and fries because I woke up starving. I could've had something healthier but fast food is so damn appealing to me when pregnant (well, and always..but more so when pregnant!).

I used to love chicken mcnuggets up on til a few years ago, when I stop eating most things fried. Now it just tastes bitter to me and icky. However, chicken nuggets are my jam, so I keep a big bag of them in the freezer to microwave on demand. Try it, might save you some weight gain AND your wallet in a normal box of 10 mcnuggets, there is 480 calories. I really wish they had more grilled options. And that can vary depending on how long they are fried too. I cannot afford that, when not pregnant, I am allowed 1380 calories to maintain weight and 1500 to 1600 calories during pregnancy. But I could so go for an ultimate cheeseburger from jack in the box right now and that is 1100 calories but right now, I really wouldn't care. Starving!
Just ate some hard cheese I had bought from a fancy store - I asked specifically if it's pasteurized and those assholss said yes- just noticed the label says "UNpasteurized"!!! Husband had to talk me off a cliff but I'm not sure it worked. I feel horrible. Someone please tell me I'll be ok.
I'm sure you'll be fine!! Try not to stress over one unpasteurized snack. It's no biggie.
@mj8215 yep, agree with @mrscate88 hard cheeses are supposed to be ok. My ob just said use common sense, for example, no runny egg whites but runny yolk is fine. If it tastes wierd, don't eat it etc.
I do that too, sometimes it is all I want. But maybe get a few eggs or lean meat in there too. It is hard to stick to fruit and veggies without getting some protein in there. Here, there isnt much that is in season. I had a couple really good mangos, but then 4 others had brown spots in them with no evidence of tot on the outside. Ew. For me, it isn't so much junk food, unless you consider the 16 cupcakes that I ate over the course of a week to be junk food though I did have two corn dogs yesterday. It is the general amount of food that I am wanting to consume that is alarming. I managed to only gain 17 lbs last pregnancy and escaped without any stretch marks. I was really hoping I would have more self control this time. All I want right now is a HUGE cheeseburger. And no, I wouldn't have the self control to save some for later. @mrscate88, stop me, before it is too late.
@CarsonsMommy I know! I gained 18 pounds and got away with no stretch marks last time too, but I worked hard and took great care of my body. I've been lazy and eating too much junk this time around, I need to get it in check. I know we can do it, we just have to make a plan and stick to it! And yes, I will make sure to have some protein today too.
ETA: Enjoy a cheeseburger protein style with extra lettuce and tomatoes hehe, that always makes me feel better about my choice!

Yeeees. You are my soul mate, so like minded haha. Husband hates going through a drive through with me, he says I over complicaten things. I hate white bread. And processed cheese tbh. Gimme all the veggies. So hungry. Neeeeed. Hard to get out and about in the snow though, and tbh, don't want to. Lazy.
Eta, the bump ate upper half of post, wierd. Anyways, I was the same. I couldn't ride anymore, so I walked/jogged my TB mare almost every day. Drank tons of water, lots of eggs, which are great protein and good for collagen and elastin. And the watermelon OMG I would eat a whole big one a day. Well, maybe we can motivate each other
I baked cookies and accidentally licked a spoon with the raw batter on it. I completely forgot about the raw eggs... fingers crossed I don't get sick. Ugh.
@CarsonsMommy I empathize with your burger craving! I had one the other day with lean beef, avocado on top, lots of veggies and put it in a whole wheat pita instead of a bun. It was delicious and I considered it in the 'somewhat' healthy category because of the lean protein and lack of an huge bun. Maybe something like that would satiate your craving?
Re: What are you eating...
I really want sushi. I'm always up for sushi.
@BusyZee I can't get SUSHI off my mind! I adore it and I miss it. Yeah there's cooked rolls, but where's the fun in that?
