TTC After a Loss

Re: ***January TWW***

  • @amberruka Sorry for the BFN  :/

@justsuzie Ugh, I'm sorry things are so confusing. After a MC, the only predictable thing you can count on is that things will be unpredictable. It looks to me like you *maybe* could have ovulated on CD13 with a fallback rise on CD15. If you delete the "peak" reading on the monitor on CD14, does FF move your crosshairs? Either way, I hope things get back on track for you soon.

@migdala Sorry for the triggers. It's always hard. Hugs.

@laeberge3 FX for a good second beta. I hope we don't see your face back around these parts, lady. (I mean that in the most caring way possible)  :)

AFM: I *think* I go here now. My temp rise was small though, so who knows for sure. My charts can be confusing because my temps stay around 97.4-97.5 until my FW, when they drop to around 97 for 3-4 days. So, my temp only rose a small bit the last two days (from 97-97.5. I also get a stair-step rise pattern, which always makes O a little ambiguous. It's confusing, and I hate my body... Lol. In any case, if I get a few more temps at or above 97.5, FF will give me crosshairs for Tuesday. I'm not super happy about that, as that means we got PM on O and then -2. It's still good timing, but with the ambiguous chart and confusing cycle, I'm not feeling overly optimistic this time. The last time my post O temps stayed really low and my post-O rise wasn't large, I MCd. Loss really messes with your thinking, doesn't it?

Aaaaaand I just realized I forgot to pack my BBT thermometer for my business trip. FML.

  • @TScalei What fun, right?  Thanks for the piece of mind that this is normal.  I always jump to conclusions that something is wrong with my body!
  • @justsuzie Your chart looks like you're doing it right! It may be some weird one-off spotting, or it may have been a weird period. Nothing but time will tell you, as you say. FWIW, I think you may have ovulated on CD 13.

@RiverSong15 sorry for the confusing-ness and no bbt for your trip! If it was further in the TWW I would say good, less pressure on the temping, but I understand the early days needing to see how your temps go!

Sorry for the bfns and fx for anybody else testing soon!

I think i may go here now! Big ass temp spike this morning. We will see how temps go the rest of the week/weekend.

@RiverSong15 Ah, charts with a high BBT at the beginning are so hard to decipher. Mine looks like that this cycle and I have no idea WTF is going on, so I can't tell you what's up. CD15 looks right with the +OPK.

  • @justsuzie I wouldn't be surprised if that bleeding turns out to not be AF. I've had random bleeding sometimes during the TWW (and 3 days of light bleeding around ovulation after my D&C) which my OB attributes to a sensitive cervix.

AFM, does anyone have any experience with temps showing ovulation with no positive OPK? I only ever got pretty faint tests for a few days, but I got a pretty marked temp rise.

@babypi Yes, it's possible to O without positive OPKs. I usually get almost, but not quite, positive OPKs, and my charts clearly show O (eventually, anyway... Lol). It's also possible your surge was really short this month. Do you just test once a day? If your surge was less than 12 hours long, it's possible you missed it totally. The temp rise confirms O, so as long as your temp stays elevated, I wouldn't worry about the OPKs this month.
  • Thanks @RiverSong15 I was doing them once a day starting at cd10 and was planning to do 2x a day starting at cd14 because I usually O around cd16. But It looks like O happened cd 12. I was worried because they were so faint. It's good to hear that the surge can happen so fast that I just missed it with OPKs.

  • @babypi No problem. If it makes you feel better, I asked my RE, my OB, and my regular Endocrinologist about the fact that I don't get true positives on OPKs very often. None of them were concerned. They said that everyone has a different concentration of LH in their bodies during a surge, which may or may not reach the arbitrary threshold the OPK needs for a "positive", and the surges can be so short that people miss the true peak. This is why I like Wondfos, because I can use them 2-3X per day. I keep track of when they get darker or lighter in FF, and my almost positive OPK almost always lines up with O for me. I asked if it indicated anything about egg quality, and my RE said no.
  • @babypi Everything I have found recently goes with what RiverSong15 is saying. In fact, it's actually HIGH LH / a longer surge, like > 3 days, that may mean smaller follicles. Just make sure to check CM and CP as well as temp if OPKs haven't worked for you yet. Also, make sure you have held your urine for 4 hours before testing. (Although that has never mattered for me, but it does for a lot of people.)

  • Congrats @laeberge3 and @emgem819!!!  May you both have the most boring pregnancies ever!

AFM, 4 DPO today and I feel inexplicably sad.  I feel like I somehow know that this isn't our cycle.  I'm all emotional and teary and I want to bite DH's head off every time he says anything to me.  I'm getting my lash extensions filled this afternoon and they can't get wet for 24 hours so I guess that means NO CRYING, but that's all I feel like doing at the moment.  This is our 7th cycle and there's an awful voice in my head telling me that if it hasn't happened yet -- and we've hit our timing every single month -- then it's not going to ever happen.  I know it's irrational.  But I sort of buy into it all the same.  Ugh I'm a mess, this sucks.  Thanks for letting me vent on here... nobody in my life really gets it.
  • @laeberge3 congrats!!!
