@nktrodden826, on Saturday I drove 30 miles for one of the plastic buckets you can get at cinemark for $7 and the refills are $3.75 all year long. The theatre 5 minutes from house had sold out. I didn't go see a movie either. Actually, I have been known to go to the theatre, buy popcorn, and leave on a regular basis. That's how much I love movie theatre popcorn. I even own a movie theatre popcorn machine, but it's huge so I only use it for outdooor movie nights and parties.
Hahah that just made my day! But now I'm googling what state has the closest cinemark theatre so I can get super cheap popcorn all year long!!!
A girl I work with is my hero. Yall had me thinking popcorn bc who doesn't love popcorn? No seriously if you don't we can't be friends..anyway back to my diary post. She has a mini popcorn machine and after I talked bout it she brought it after lunch and made me all the popcorn I wanted. We're friends forever.
I have a popcorn machine too, but I kind of prefer the wegmans bagged microwave popcorn. It's just easier to get my seasonings on. Dang it I just bought some and now I need it. Off to the microwave!
Lunch today was total indulgence with a soy burger with tempeh bacon, Daiya cheese, lettuce and tomato with mustard and vegan mayo at my fav restuarant. Plus they make amazing mashed potatoes with all these herbs and they were literally just made when I got them today. Omg I was in potato heaven. I like potatoes entirely too much.
Edit: because I decided I needed popcorn

Words cannot express how much I love popcorn. A few years ago when we had 6 blizzards in 5 weeks (4 weeks?) I made popcorn for lunch for every single snow day. Could really go for some Smartfood.
Just ate some hard cheese I had bought from a fancy store - I asked specifically if it's pasteurized and those assholss said yes- just noticed the label says "UNpasteurized"!!! Husband had to talk me off a cliff but I'm not sure it worked. I feel horrible. Someone please tell me I'll be ok.
I have had several ham and egg salad sandwiches lately, as well as multiple over medium eggs. I did many similar things during my first pregnancy. Things are fine.
@Chamomile my hospital has milk chocolate covered Oreos in the gift shop. As a matter of fact I bought a pack of 6 yesterday and literally just finished the last one right before I saw your post! They literally made my day both today and yesterday.

I bought one of those veggie things that cut your zucchini into noodles. I seasoned it with garlic, seasoning salt, and olive oil and it was so good. Then I baked chicken and made some broccoli and mixed all of that together with a little bit of Alfredo and it was delicious. I finally have energy again and am hungry for vegetables so I'm trying to be healthier.
The vegetable cutter was super easy to use AND dishwasher safe, so if you've thought about trying it, give it a go.
I wish I was craving something healthy. I have been craving macaroni and cheese! Lol. Not sure what that's about....must be getting in touch with my inner child.
Aversions: brussel sprouts which I normally love, pork, chicken depending on how it is seasoned and anything breaded and fried.

We LOVE zoodles over here! Never have pasta anymore!
thanks ladies. it seems not logical when I try to picture listeria surviving inside a hard cheese - like where would it even grow? the brie etc makes much more sense as an environment for it. Just leaving this here in case anyone else goes through the same thing. In any case I'll try to take your advice and calm down.
@Itsnotyourturn We have the same machine in red! Ours is used weekly. Major popcorn lovers here and we constantly have friends stopping over just to eat it. lol Popcorn has been giving me major heartburn this pregnancy and it breaks my heart. Yes, we do have a candy assortment to go with the popcorn too. lol It's serious business here.
I hate myself for being so strict, but I have too much paranoia to break the "rules", so I'll just be living vicariously through all you lunchmeat-eating, soft-cheese-enjoying women until July.
Other than those exceptions, I've pretty much been eating what I usually eat when I'm not pregnant. I've been trying to eat better breakfasts, and make sure that I get veggies and fruit in for one meal each day at the very least. I've always had a pretty balanced diet so I haven't found it hard to stay consistent during pregnancy. First trimester all hell broke loose in terms of junk food, but I'm back on track now and I've gained less than 10 lbs between October and now, which shocked me.
Thanks to everyone talking about popcorn that is my meal for this morning. I cringed a little when my kids asked for some because I wanted it all for myself but then my 3 year old told me "mom be a share fish not a selfish" so he obviously got some.

Also- this is pretty much the cutest thing I've ever heard.
@PurplePumpernickel do they have to be Planters? I know they still make similar types of cheese balls. Pretty random but my sister adopted a greyhound and he could care less about dog treats but LOVED cheese balls. They had a big tub of them for training treats. Lol.
@oheliza44 I've seen other brands, but only in those gigantic containers. While I'd like to have that many cheese-balls, it probably isn't a good idea. And I wouldn't have the self control to not finish them in three days. I love that story about the greyhound!
@BusyZee ewww. She doesn't understand the preggers rules?! Maybe she doesnt like you hahaha. I swear my mil knows I dont like things and does them just to get under my skin sometimes, although I am sure it is actually just the way it was done in her day. My dad likes rare/medium rare hamburgers, now THAT is totally icky. Like he says Mc Donalds burgers are over cooked lol. But the extra fat from the hamburger meat, I just don't get it. I drain AND rinse. I am anal about it. And the fat gives me major heartburn, no bueno.
@CarsonsMommy no no no she's just crazy! Me being very picky aside, even my husband refuses to eat at her place, her husband is ALWAYS sick, she's almost killed her own grandchildren too. she's just very lazy and doesn't want to do anything for anyone. The only "preggers rules"she understands is that she keeps telling me to eat more "protien".
Edit: I wrote grandparents instead of grandchildren hahaha
@oheliza44 I found a king cake! As soon as I get off work I'm eating it, even before dinner. I deserve it.
All I need now is crawfish!
@MrsLa3 Horray!!! Was it as good as you were hoping?
The crawfish boil I was going to on Saturday for rained out so I haven't had any crawfish yet. Prices are still really high- hopefully they drop soon. We usually do a couple books in the spring. I can't wait.
Any news about your move? Any chance you'll be near Nola?
Since the aversions have really died down, I. Want. SWEETS! But I've tried to divert it to fruit, so I've been huge on Cuties and melon. Once in awhile I'll get a craving for Takis, but I can only take the spicy goodness in small batches.
I have such Cheeto cravings. What I'd REALLY like, but you can't get them anymore, are Planters Cheese Balls.
OMG! I thought I was the only one missing them!!! I still look for them when I go in a new grocery store. I haven't seen them in almost 10 years! Planters cheese balls are amazing!
My husband got a new organic frozen bag meal of pork flavored Tokyo style ramen. It smelled rancid. I almost threw up trying to dump it down the garbage disposal.
DH just went to pick up shin ramen. Shin ramen is life. I'm not saying we can't be friends if you don't love shin ramen, but I don't know if I can ever trust you if you don't like it.
@Itsnotyourturn dumb question but what is shin ramen? Is it a type of preparation of ramen or a brand? I've recently discovered a love for ramen. Where I live, vietnamese food is huge (we have the biggest vietnamese population in the US) so I have always been preferential to pho, but a new ramen shop opened up and it is ammmazzzzinng.

Also, all the references to "President Cheeto" on my Facebook feed has made me want the spicy cheetos so badly. This may have to happen today...
Also- this is pretty much the cutest thing I've ever heard.

ETA Well I was excited, till I remembered she never drains the meat. Seriously... who does that?

ETA I cook it in a frying pan until the liquid carmelizes, so it's more like pan fried noodles but you can make it the traditional way.
