My random is I get guilt from not being more involved over here. I am still very involved with about 50 people in my last group, but I really didn't participate with that as much until the end of my pregnancy when I had off for the summer so I think it the same this time. I really like this group of people too so I want to get more involved :-)
It's only 8:15 here and I have already ordered Jimmy John's for dinner tonight after DS goes to bed. DH is out of town overnight for work and I am not cooking for just me!
My home town team (don't worry I'm not being a bandwagon fan) and the team we are fans of since DH was born/raised/lived in New England until he met me... I seriously won't be upset with the result but have a vested interest to watch beyond commercials!
I love the FOOD of Super Bowl Sunday! We usually either grill or do Mexican (which I just can't get enough of during this pregnancy!). Either way, lots of good eats!!
Ugh, my 17 month old is sick with her first real cough. My husband and I took turns all night holding her so she could sleep upright and putting her in the steam. We're headed to the pediatrician in a little while. I really hope they can give us something to dry her up. Poor thing is miserable and this preggo mama is tired.
@michaela0704 it's the same for a lot of people in the Boston area, since Matt Ryan is a BC alum. I'm super excited for the game (although I'm nervous. They are definitely going to be the best team the Patriots have faced all year).
Teacher mom (I have no idea how to tag that), I have been less active here lately. I'm strictly mobile and find this so user unfriendly. In my last bmb we had moved to a fb group by this point and I was way more active there.
Anatomy scan this afternoon and I'm super anxious.
And another random is my co-worker is in labor and hearing that news got me so pumped for mine in June!
One of my former students died. All the teachers took turns going over to the memorial service (I work in a Catholic school so it was in the church next door). I have no idea how he died, but I am thinking suicide. Seeing someone in their early twenties in a coffin and hugging the family was more than this pregnant lady could bear :-(

Count me on the "so pumped" train! That said.. I will be majorly upset if my Pats don't win. I live and die Boston sports and legit go into a week-long mourning when my teams don't win it all. I legit can't watch ESPN, listen to sports talk radio or converse with anyone about the game in question for at least a week. My mother probably wanted to have me committed as I was growing up. I have always been this way (eg screaming at the TV, flailing about dramatically on the floor, crying on a curb by Fenway after they lost the 2003 ALCS in game 7 to the Yanks). When I was a kid, all of our teams here sucked so she didn't understand how I even got worked up thinking they had a chance. She would always say "Honey.... they never win? Why did you think they would?". I think the Sox were the worst at getting hopes up and then losing in the most dramatic, epic fashion possible. For so long I was used to my teams being epic failures and with the wave of success for Boston since 2002 has been unreal!
@Elyse1384 you just described me to a T (well for football and baseball at least, I can't get in to hockey and basketball). I believe I have taken sick days from work the day after a crushing superbowl loss (the 2012 loss to the Giants I was on maternity leave, thank goodness).
@teachermom I'm sorry you are going through that. I know as a peer of former students passing away too early how hard those memorials are, I can't imagine as a pregnant teacher having former students pass away. I had 5 of my graduating class gone before our 5th reunion (between car accidents, a heart condition and 2 suicides), and there have been 3-4 more since then with overdoses and cancer. I think I've lost more classmates than my mother has.

My mom's side is from and still lives in NY. They are Yankees and Giants fan (a couple of Jets fans just for added annoyance). Much of my childhood was clouded in emotional torture.
I had a dream last night that this baby was a chubby happy red-headed girl! There's a lot of red in my family and my husbands, so it's a good possibility that this kid will be a ginger.
My anatomy scan is next Wednesday with a gender/sex reveal Saturday afternoon, I can't wait to find out what we're having!
@meg2704 As I understand it, both sides need to carry the recessive gene for red to poke through, so it sounds like you have that chance! I'm adopted and we had to use donor sperm because of DH's condition so we are kind of a black box. I can't begin to tell you how shocked we was when DS's hair started coming in red! Haha. We wondered about our second (she isn't a redhead) and I'm quite curious to see how this LO comes out.
Please let the Patriots lose the superbowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT stand Tom Brady. I'm also excited for all of the food... drools.
I've decided to start swimming for exercise since my base has a lovely warm indoor pool nobody but the master divers use so I swam this morning and it was awesome! I bought myself a cheap 20 dollar speedo at Costco this weekend and it fits fine for now except that I literally look like an orca whale in it. But whatever at least I'm exercising and the divers were impressed I was swimming this morning :-)
I'll be the first to admit I couldn't care less about the super bowl...BUT, I love hanging out with friends, and eating super bowl party food! Plus, the commercials aren't that bad either.
I am ridiculously lacking motivation with work at the moment. I have job interviews for a new role in my company on Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, so we'll see! Maybe a new role is what I need to stay motivated.
I enjoy the super bowl as the last major eating excuse for several months. Jalapeño poppers, chips and queso, seven layer dip (there's a cheese theme here). Can't wait!
My random is I took a partial sick day (I'm only taking two short online meetings) and DH is still here and I need him to go so I can have a proper, quiet sick day with trashy daytime television and lots of soup and juice.
I'm sorry from your loss @Wino0920. Sending thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Good luck to you and @MotherofDragons with your ultrasounds! Hope all looks well.
DS finally started walking last night with assistance for longer distances and on his own for short ones. He still seems to be in some pain, but I'm so happy to see him using his leg. I was so worried we were dealing with something broken or torn since he still wasn't using it yet over the weekend.
Put me in the Tom Brady hater club. I hope Atlanta wins. I'm so tired of seeing the Patriots win all the time, it makes football less interesting. No offense New England fans!!!
I'd love to see the Falcons win a Super Bowl, it would be great for Atlanta... at the same time though, I don't care how many they've already won, per Kraft 'ONE MORE!!!!'
@Wino0920 So sorry for your lose. That is such a hard thing to deal with.
The city of Chicago was crazy this weekend with protesters. I hate it. I understand why people are out doing it but protesting makes me nervous. All it takes is one idiot to make it a riot.
I am sooooo happy the Steelers didn't make it to the Super Bowl. That being said, I'm rooting for the Falcons - but I'll probably fall asleep during the game anyway.
@Elyse1384 - I totally get the your team always suck mentality. You know, me being from Cleveland and all.
@Wearmi1 I hope the Pats lose. It's time for other people win. Also, I'm a Packer fan, so it would be nice to say that we lost to the super bowl champs.

I'm only watching the Super Bowl to hopefully watch the Pats lose and for food.

Im reading not a good couple of days for loved ones. Mombod's grandpa (I think?) and Teacher's student.
Praying for everyone.
I have my anatomy scan tomorrow so something to look forward to. Team Green but can't wait to see the babes and find out if everything is ok.
