@LeFemmeViolette Usually the DH tends to try for it the night before cause there is such a LONG wait till it can happen again lol. But I've never been told it's a requirement for IVF or FET besides when he needs to give his donation or back when we used to track everything.

When I talked with a nurse (who is very new at my clinic) about sex before fet and she said probably not...but definitely did not seem confident in her answer. Now that @thucks posted about this I'm questioning her. Did anyone have their RE suggest one way or the other?
@jodes727 I've never heard of no sex before FET and my RE has always told me no sex after until beta and then if bfp no sex until it's been confirmed by multiple betas. Like @thucks said we did BD the night before because of the extra long wait until we could do it again! When DH found out the last FET how long we had to wait he was pretty frustrated!

AFM- my tentative FET is scheduled for 2/2 but I found out this morning that my RE doesn't work Thursdays. So if we want him to do it we need to wait 5 more days for the FET. I really want him to do it because he knows our history and about our ep; however, if my date was 2/2, I don't see how it can be ok to move our FET back 5 days. I'm feeling really frustrated. I feel like they want to move me to 2/7 out of necessity and not what is best for me. My gut says to stick with 2/2 so I have asked that my RE makes an exception and do the transfer. If he doesn't we'll have to have an RE that I've never met do the transfer. Feeling a little bummed. Sorry for the rant!

@SingleGeneMe I'm so sorry for the low beta. I can't remember if you did PGS?
@lilmissslp my clinic does the same thing- different MD's do transfers on different days. My first 2 I didn't have my own MD. They doctors who I had did make me feel nice and relaxed about the whole thing, so that did help. I know part of the reason doctors like medicated cycles is because they have control over the transfer timing via meds, so I don't think pushing it out 5 days would have any negative effects. Also, 8 dpt for beta is definitely the earliest I've heard. But my clinic does 9, so not too different!

AFM, I am feeling good as far as pregnancy symptoms go- really nothing as of yet! I got this horrible sore throat/low grade fever thing going on which I really hope goes away soon. I'm trying to save my sick time for when morning sickness hits, and so far I've been out all week! I am still taking cheapie preg tests every day just for peace of mind . 13 days until my ultrasound and I'm getting SO IMPATIENT. Did anyone watch Ellen today? An IVF mom transferred 2 and got 4. O.M.G.
Also in the midst of a major fight with my insurance company (again). They denied my Lovenox injections (they don't think it's medically necessary), and now I'm paying $40 per day for my meds. Dr thinks I will be on these until at least 7 or 8 months pregnant. Thats almost 10k!

With sex before/after FET, my nurse said no sex when I had asked her 3 days before the FET, and to abstain until after the beta test. I was thinking though, that since I'm doing progesterone suppositories that I do not even want to think about doing it with that stuff down there. It is so chunky and gross.

Over on my end, I had to have a Rhogam injection since I'm Rh negative and my DH is Rh positive. I haven't had a formal consult with me RE, but I've had a few conversations with his nurse. They are going to send the tissue that I passed for lab testing and if it tests normal (which it should, since it was already tested), they will do some testing on me. Tests for autoimmune issues, clotting disorders, hemoglobin A1C, etc. Things may take a little time before the next FET, but I'm ready to keep moving forward.

@jodes727 My doctor says no sex once meds have started until after the betas. We are doing the 'natural' cycle though so I am ovulating and transferring 2 embryos, I'm sure my RE just wants to make sure the only embies implanting are the ones we transfer so I don't end up octo-mom, lol!

@APM_SLP thanks for your input! It's nice to hear that other clinics do the same thing. In the midst of our ep, our RE left his practice and joined another practice so working with other REs is new to me. I'm sure your right about the 5 days. My RE mentioned it's rare but I could ovulate on my own in that time and we'd have to cancel. I really just don't want to chance it. I feel so much less stressed with a Thursday transfer too. I can take Friday off and have the weekend to take it easy. I just have to go with my gut. I'm so excited for your ultrasound. I can't wait to hear how many little ones you've got cooking!

@APM_SLP You are so much stronger than me. I am sooo scared of POAS that when I had my beta's for the twins I was still to scared to use one. I impatiently waited for my ultra sound. I've had twins yet never seen 2 red lines on that stick. lol just freaks me out. @amanning2011 No sex from when you start meds?? like CD1??? Holy cow my DH would die! I've always just been told no sex after transfer till beta and then not till week 10 if its a BFP. @SingleGeneMe I'm so sorry about the low Beta. I hate that they make you stick with your meds and redraw. Just drags out the disappointment.

APM_SLP I hear ya about poasing to make sure everything is staying good. I am looking forward to hearing exiting news from your US! I sure hate insurance! I had do to a refill on all my fertility meds (FET meds) and they said that if I had the Dr call and tell them that I was pregnant that maybe something might be covered by insurance. Will be curious to see if anything was. HOpeful...because 1700 for roughly every 2 weeks (for at least 5-6 weeks more is feeling pretty brutal-though worth it!)

Winnie81 I agree...we were not wanting to have sex with the gooeyness of medication inserts/nor did I think that was good exposure for him. It is very interesting to have been trying to make a baby with pretty much no sex for months on end (due to Dh travel, IVF, FET etc).

@thucks I'm pretty nervous about transferring two embryos next time. I still think it's the right move to make, and I'd rather have twins than no babies, so we're gonna do it. But it just seems a bit scary to potentially have a twin pregnancy. A single pregnancy, despite the fact we've been working so hard to achieve, is scary enough. Any re-assuring tidbits you can share?

@LeFemmeViolette hmm. I had a pretty good pregnancy. The usual swelling and getting huge. For me it diffidently wasn't as bad and scary as everyone made it out to be. It's totally worth it. Plus side of the pregnancy you get ALOT more ultra sounds than when its a singleton for IF it's a big reassurance that everything is going well. I'm so blessed that my girls have someone to always have by their sides. Your not always guaranteed a sibling look at me I'm on FET #4 trying to have just 1 more. Since you don't have kids now you'll never know the difference this will just be the way it is.

I forgot to mention... in our convo's last night we were talking about one of DH's co workers him and his wife had an iui last tues for a second kid. They got a BFP on their first IUI and are trying for another. I was telling DH that I am just flabbergasted at how easy she thinks this is. I was talking to the husband on Sat and grilling him on if she's eating her pineapple and so on he looked at me like I was crazy. I'm over here chugging my Pom juice a pineapple on the counter. Makes my nerves rush just thinking about what she's not doing.

AFM- my tentative FET is scheduled for 2/2 but I found out this morning that my RE doesn't work Thursdays. So if we want him to do it we need to wait 5 more days for the FET. I really want him to do it because he knows our history and about our ep; however, if my date was 2/2, I don't see how it can be ok to move our FET back 5 days. I'm feeling really frustrated. I feel like they want to move me to 2/7 out of necessity and not what is best for me. My gut says to stick with 2/2 so I have asked that my RE makes an exception and do the transfer. If he doesn't we'll have to have an RE that I've never met do the transfer. Feeling a little bummed. Sorry for the rant!

@lilmissslp my clinic does the same thing- different MD's do transfers on different days. My first 2 I didn't have my own MD. They doctors who I had did make me feel nice and relaxed about the whole thing, so that did help. I know part of the reason doctors like medicated cycles is because they have control over the transfer timing via meds, so I don't think pushing it out 5 days would have any negative effects. Also, 8 dpt for beta is definitely the earliest I've heard. But my clinic does 9, so not too different!
@krisnjoe that looks like a great BFP for 6dpt. Congrats and fingers crossed for a great first beta!
AFM, I am feeling good as far as pregnancy symptoms go- really nothing as of yet! I got this horrible sore throat/low grade fever thing going on which I really hope goes away soon. I'm trying to save my sick time for when morning sickness hits, and so far I've been out all week! I am still taking cheapie preg tests every day just for peace of mind
Also in the midst of a major fight with my insurance company (again). They denied my Lovenox injections (they don't think it's medically necessary), and now I'm paying $40 per day for my meds. Dr thinks I will be on these until at least 7 or 8 months pregnant. Thats almost 10k!

Over on my end, I had to have a Rhogam injection since I'm Rh negative and my DH is Rh positive. I haven't had a formal consult with me RE, but I've had a few conversations with his nurse. They are going to send the tissue that I passed for lab testing and if it tests normal (which it should, since it was already tested), they will do some testing on me. Tests for autoimmune issues, clotting disorders, hemoglobin A1C, etc. Things may take a little time before the next FET, but I'm ready to keep moving forward.

APM_SLP I hear ya about poasing to make sure everything is staying good. I am looking forward to hearing exiting news from your US! I sure hate insurance! I had do to a refill on all my fertility meds (FET meds) and they said that if I had the Dr call and tell them that I was pregnant that maybe something might be covered by insurance. Will be curious to see if anything was. HOpeful...because 1700 for roughly every 2 weeks (for at least 5-6 weeks more is feeling pretty brutal-though worth it!)

I'm pretty nervous about transferring two embryos next time. I still think it's the right move to make, and I'd rather have twins than no babies, so we're gonna do it. But it just seems a bit scary to potentially have a twin pregnancy. A single pregnancy, despite the fact we've been working so hard to achieve, is scary enough. Any re-assuring tidbits you can share?

@LeFemmeViolette hmm. I had a pretty good pregnancy. The usual swelling and getting huge. For me it diffidently wasn't as bad and scary as everyone made it out to be. It's totally worth it. Plus side of the pregnancy you get ALOT more ultra sounds than when its a singleton for IF it's a big reassurance that everything is going well. I'm so blessed that my girls have someone to always have by their sides. Your not always guaranteed a sibling look at me I'm on FET #4 trying to have just 1 more. Since you don't have kids now you'll never know the difference this will just be the way it is.

I forgot to mention... in our convo's last night we were talking about one of DH's co workers him and his wife had an iui last tues for a second kid. They got a BFP on their first IUI and are trying for another. I was telling DH that I am just flabbergasted at how easy she thinks this is. I was talking to the husband on Sat and grilling him on if she's eating her pineapple and so on he looked at me like I was crazy. I'm over here chugging my Pom juice a pineapple on the counter. Makes my nerves rush just thinking about what she's not doing.
