I
wish I had better news, but I decided to test this morning in case I
couldn't answer the phone (pretty much have back to back work calls
today). Unfortunately it was negative. I'm not as let down as I was last
time, because our last failed FET meant we
were definitely going to have to go through another stim cycle and
retrieval. This time we have two more embies ready to go. But I'm still
confused and frustrated this round didn't work. I did all the things
I've heard of to increase odds- acupuncture, no caffeine, no ice, ate
pineapple slices, etc. I guess it just goes to show you really, truly,
have zero control over anything. I'm very nervous about
putting two embryos in together next time, but I think it's the next
logical step in this process. After 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed FETs I
feel like I'm getting nowhere and we need to make a big change in order
to see some progress. And that big change is putting in two at a time.
My husband has been so supportive with all this. Every failure we've had
he always says we'll keep going. Keep trying. Since
this is our first back-to-back FET, I'm not really sure how quickly
we're able to start preparing for our next transfer, but I'm hoping to
start soon. Thanks for all your kind words.

@LeFemmeViolette I'm really sorry I wish we were able to have more of a hand in all of this....the sheer luck aspect of it is so frustrating.
Yesterday was my FET. I apparently didn't drink enough water so they made me head back to the waiting room to guzzle more. By the time it was my turn again I was so freakin uncomfortable! The only way I avoided peeing on myself was by going somewhere else mentally.
They placed a blast that was just starting to hatch...don't know the gender which is fine because we wanted them to prioritize the one that has the best chance. Yesterday I was in a zen place but now I'm getting more anxious. Maybe it's because I'm on call today and rather not have to do anything too strenuous (like pushing/pulling patients around).
Beta is next week....trying to hold out from testing! Have 2 parties to attend this weekend, the game plan is to order non-alcoholic drinks that look alcoholic to avoid questions

@LeFemmeViolette keep hoping! My RE said they've had many women get good beta after disappointing hpts. Actually said I could test early but she didn't want me to stress about it all weekend as my beta isn't scheduled for a full two weeks after transfer, which is today. Could have gone in on the 28th, but she likes to be there for the news, and she wasn't available.

@LeFemmeViolette I'm so sorry about the negative test. I can imagine how frustrated you must be. Did you do PGS? Did your RE have any advice? We are on our FET #3 and haven't changed anything because my RE says she thinks it's just due to the fact the previous embryos were not chromsally normal so the odds weren't in our favor. Not sure I'm entirely convinced but all I can do is try again and hope she's right! Anyway I'm so sorry you have to go through this again. It's just not fair:(

@LeFemmeViolette I'm sorry that you got a negative. It seems so unfair to do everything "right" and use a PGS-tested embryo and still get a negative. I don't have a good feeling about my chances either and I used a PGS-tested embryo. I hope they can change something in the protocol to give you a better chance. I wish I had good advice, but this is my first transfer so I don't have any ideas. I'm thinking of you, though.

I'm very nervous about putting two embryos in together next time, but I think it's the next logical step in this process. After 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed FETs I feel like I'm getting nowhere and we need to make a big change in order to see some progress. And that big change is putting in two at a time. My husband has been so supportive with all this. Every failure we've had he always says we'll keep going. Keep trying.
Since this is our first back-to-back FET, I'm not really sure how quickly we're able to start preparing for our next transfer, but I'm hoping to start soon. Thanks for all your kind words.

Yesterday was my FET. I apparently didn't drink enough water so they made me head back to the waiting room to guzzle more. By the time it was my turn again I was so freakin uncomfortable! The only way I avoided peeing on myself was by going somewhere else mentally.
They placed a blast that was just starting to hatch...don't know the gender which is fine because we wanted them to prioritize the one that has the best chance. Yesterday I was in a zen place but now I'm getting more anxious. Maybe it's because I'm on call today and rather not have to do anything too strenuous (like pushing/pulling patients around).
Beta is next week....trying to hold out from testing! Have 2 parties to attend this weekend, the game plan is to order non-alcoholic drinks that look alcoholic to avoid questions
