I was gonna throw this in FFFC, but at this point I'm sure it's less that... I'm only shaving every two weeks right now. Right before my appointments. It's not even that I can't reach my legs, I'm just supremely lazy and using pregnancy as an excuse.

@datalover13 Don't have any shame in your game, I haven't shaved my legs in who knows when- still able to shave everything else to a point still. I even had to get DH to trim my toe nails yesterday
@datalover13 that's why I love having blonde hair, you can't really tell unless you feel that I am not shaving frequently. I did make an effort to shave my legs for my massage last week though!
@Spartanrd4 pregnancy is currently my excuse to get more pedicures
I hardly shave in the winter, pregnant or not. If someone will see or touch my legs (like doctor's office or a pedicure), I will. But DH doesn't care, so neither do I.
I usually end up shaving every 2 weeks or so most winters. I'm actually shaving more frequently than normal.
Probably TMI but I had DH hop in the shower with me and hold up my bump so I could so some much needed lady bits landscaping. Pretty much can't see anything down there without pushing the bump out of the way. I have a feeling that was the last time that's gonna happen.
I shared this on a Ticker change (I think) I had an awful time shaving my legs this weekend too--my issue wasn't reaching. I can bend just fine actually-but the immediate butt/hamstring charliehorse from standing on one leg and miserablecontinuous lighting crotch from a squished baby was so awfully painful, I don't think I'll be shaving in the shower again anytime soon.
I can reach the inside of my legs, but it's the outside I'm struggling to reach. So glad I kept up with waxing in lady bits area though. One less thing to worry about. Not that I care how it looks down there (especially now, haha!!) it's just so much more comfortable.
On the subject of shaving...I like to sit on the floor of my shower to shave all legs and lady bits. I am still able to do it all pretty well, but getting off the floor is defintely getting harder! IDK how much longer I will be able to do that. Shaving my girl parts will be much harder standing.
Hubby does mine for me. Last time I did it I asked him how it looked and he either laughed or made a snide comment. I do remember him saying it wasn't even. He has only done it once this pregnancy but I need a touch up especially since I'll be starting to be checked soon. I don't like him down there with shaving stuff because I'm nervous he will cut me but it's probably because I cut myself once.
@MrsBinPA that's exactly what I've started doing too! And yea, shaving only happens once or twice a week now. I've thought about waxing, esp as it gets harder to bend/reach but I've never done it before out of what's probably irrational fear @npaulie is it really as painful as I'm imagining it to be?
In the winter hardly any shaving happening here and DH doesnt care either so it doesnt bother me any. I try for every two weeks but I noticed this last time just like @npaulie trying to reach the outside was hard. I think the only time I feel embarassed or make sure to shave is right before I get a pedicure.
I'd been trying to figure out how to trim up the girl parts this weekend. Doing it blind was a bit scary. Good tips here.
On another topic, I dreamed I went to the dr. She looked at my chart and said, you are all set to deliver at 47 weeks! I also dreamed I was starting a cooking show with a newly retired hot tennis star who had a fairly strong resemblance to DH. He was the pretty face meant to draw people in. Oh prego dreams!
I've been starting to shave more frequently now that the end is somewhere in sight. But lady bits I go in completely blind and it's a little terrifying. Legs I'm still managing ok. I'm trying to up keep as much as I can because my SO is completely crazy when it comes to labour/water breaking. I told him this time I'm staying home as long as I can and he says "no I'll call the midwife and rush you to the hospital as soon as it starts" Poor guy doesn't get it.... Lol I'm pretty set on taking a shower and having a little time to do things before actually going to the hospital this time.. He will have to deal.
I shave every two to three weeks or so also but mostly because my body hair isn't growing very fast- but will definitely fastidiously shave as my due date gets closer! I also sit down in the shower to shave, helps a lot! But getting up is a herculean feat!
I haven't had issues shaving but I'm growing my leg hair out to get it waxed. I also get my lady bits waxed once a month so I'll do it all in one appointment.

Am I the only one whose leg hair seems to have dramatically slowed in growth? I have shaved once so far this winter, right before my prenatal massage. That was 3 weeks ago, and hardly any has grown back. Even at the time I was shaving, I found myself wondering why I was bothering at all. My razor was bringing up a small fraction of the hairs it usually does, and at the time, I hadn't shaved in weeks. I want to joke that I'm just going blind, but I really think hair growth has slowed. My nails grow at lightning speed though. I'm clipping those almost twice a week now.
Today, I'm lounging around in a stretchable non-maternity tee. It's just me and DH, who cares if my gut is exposed, lol. Anyway, I grabbed the bottom of it to clean a smudge off my glasses, and the shirt tore from the side seam!! Well, shit. If that's not a message that I'm a whale right now... (Just as hairless as a whale too, apparently)
I don't want to revive last weeks randoms so I'll throw my posts here
*im excited about the cinnamon tea! *cheese stuffed dates sound amazing *if someone tried to shove my baby back in I would kick them in the face, hard
sorry, too lazy to see who i need to tag for those comments
also, I shave once a week bc I find it uncomfortable. been blind shaving for a few months and I've gotten pretty good it takes forevvvvvverrrrrr though
My leg hair also isn't growing as fast. @serenity13 the first time I went to get waxed it did hurt, but after the first one is out of the way it's no where near as bad. I definitely would take Tylenol before 30 min before going if you go. I just find it so nice to not have to deal with it, so it's worth the money for me each month. And each time you do it, less and less hair grows back.
The important thing if you decide to go is to either go to a place that's recommended to you or has great reviews. If you go to someone who really knows what they're doing. They know how and how much to wax at a time to reduce pain, and they can be great at distracting you with chatting.
Thanks @npaulie!! I might have to try it! About 10 years ago I spent over $5k on laser hair removal for the my full legs/lady parts/armpits. Worst financial decision of my life since it did absolutely nothingggg despite dozens of treatments over a few years. At least waxing sounds like it'll produce results! @Gators&BoSox & @datalover13 now I want Chinese food!!
the talk about shaving legs and lady parts reminded me of a funny story. My last preganancy DS was due in Oct. so I was very much pregnant during the height of the summer taking the older kids to beaches and water parks. I had never been pregnant in the summer so didnt know how or what to do to shave my lady parts for the bottom of the bathing suit being that I couldnt see a thing with my bump. One of my friends suggested to use one of those bikini hair removal cream things. Not sure what I was thinking in hindsight, long story short the cream ended up everywhere down there and I lost most if not all of my hair. I was super mortified and embarrassed to tell DH the story and I was hoping and praying that the hair would grow back enough in time for delivery so that I wouldnt be looked at so funny. Not sure why I didnt think of waxing before then.

This happened both with my first pregnancy and this one. It was weird, but awesome.

I had laser hair removal on my bikini line and underarms. Hair is definitely still there. Very disappointing!!!
@dubcompanion@korpisar My leg hair has substantially slowed in growth as well, which is a huge relief because I'm so big now it's hard to really reach to do a decent job shaving. I only shave maybe once every few weeks anymore. As far as my lady bits goes, I just have to stand in the shower and try to see in the mirror above our sink to landscape and go by how it feels.

Oh man. I also am on the hardly ever shave in the winter wagon pregnant or not. DH swears he doesn't notice/care. I will have to make an effort whenever I schedule my prenatal massage that I got a gift certificate for Christmas. I can still bend over bump for the moment, so we'll see how much longer that lasts!

So glad I'm not the odd one out for slow leg hair growth! And major props to those who blindly trim/shave their bikini lines. DH couldn't care less about its appearance, and I'll only make him trim things if it gets too itchy from the unruliness.
@EnglishTeacherMama No judgment here! I just spent some time updating my registries. I've noticed that items have been purchased from Target, and My BBB and Amazon registries have remained untouched. I went through and moved some items over to the Target registry, since it seems so popular. It may just be that Target is more accessible to guests, since not everybody has a BBB nearby or uses Amazon.
That's my reasoning for peeking at my registries, and I'm sticking to it!
I'm so jealous of those of you who feel like your hair growth has slowed!! I am like a wooly mamouth!! My hair is probably growing faster.
I'm almost at the point of having to blind shave my girl parts, but I have been practicing & I have always shaved it all off, so I don't have to worry much about how it looks. I just feel around for any missed hair
The thought of having a wild bush & undercarriage with all the discharge I have makes me shudder! LOL I'm weird about body hair...
I feel like once I get to about 36 weeks I'm going to hit the sh*ts getting real phase, which means hopefully I only have a few more weeks of feeling like this is taking foreverrrrrrrrrrrrr... I'm not a patient lady
OMG you guys I just got an email that our maternity policy just changed from 0 weeks paid maternity leave (we get 8 weeks short term disability now) to 10 weeks fully paid!! Problem is.... it doesn't start til June 1st. I'm due 3/28 so this would be my last month of leave. I'm furiously emailing HR right now to make sure I won't get shut out because my leave will have already started...
