Thanks for all the support on the leave policy at my work, ladies- @kiyamurph yep it's totally a man running that show. No shock there! I got word this afternoon that they are considering a transition period of 13 weeks now- so that would loop me in for the full benefit- fingers crossed but right now it's looking like: angry pregnant women = 1, inconsiderate corporate benefits dept = 0.
@jenny0228 feminism at work in its finest form!!! Power to you and i hope you get every benefit you are due! Just reading about your struggle fills me with girl power haha
@jenny0228 keeping my fingers crossed for you that it works out and that you are looped into the new benefit.
@korpisar I am having my fourth csection and also getting my tubes tied at the same time as I am more than 100% certain that I am all set and done plus I dont want to have to deal with taking pills/hormones etc. If it were up to my mom I would have had my tubes tied after my second baby. When I was pregnant with my third my ob at the tie also wanted me to get my tubes tied and I actually considered it because both DH and I thought it would be our last. DH stated it was my choice but he was hesitant about me getting them tied, glad I didn't because we both decided to try again for number four. Talk to your doc see what they say. I know that at basically every OB appt I have they always ask me if I am getting my tubes tied granted this is annoying but I guess it has to be documented several times in some ones chart just to make sure its not a rushed last minute decision and depending on your insurane they may need to file some extra paper work and then there is also the age factor, some docs wont do it if you are really young in case you were to change your mind later.
@jenny0228 fingers crossed for you!! Had a similar let down at work when I found out they just took away the maternity top up so instead of 75% of pay I get the regular 55%. I really shouldn't complain though but still a bummer when my coworker on Mat leave now has the top up.
Also my random.. I literally have no name for this baby yet. Nothing. I just can't find anything that stands out to me.. could be because I'm team green this time but I'm seriously losing hope. I completely lost all inspiration lately from being so exhausted and stressed though so I also have no idea what to do with the baby nursery in the new house. I've been looking at bedding every day for 2 weeks and I don't love anything. With DD I had so much fun.. had it all perfectly done by now. I just feel so unprepared..
@Burrberrymum don't worry, mama. There's no rush. If you don't name your baby till a few days after you meet LO, there's nothing wrong with that! We always ((I say always, but this is kid two) wait till meeting baby to pick a name: so instead of picking one now-we just pick our top few to consider once we see what baby looks and acts like and then decide.
So people have started sending us packages off the registries and yesterday we received baby's bedding set (from someone who isn't coming to the shower - the set includes 1 valance) and one of the valances (that I ordered myself). I opened them both just now to make sure the valances were the same size/color since I had heard mixed reviews online about the sizing being different or colors being off.... I had put 2 of the regular valances on the registry just in case this happened to be the case. So both valances match perfectly and I go to update my registry this morning to change the quantity needed/mark it complete and lo & behold not only has the other one already been purchased but TWO of them have been. (3 purchased, 2 requested...?) So now I know that another 2 valances are on the way or will be given at the shower. So I'll be returning both of them eventually. I now have to wait until after the shower (since it'll be at my house) to put the valances up so that whoever the other person/people is/are that bought them won't get their feelings hurt if they come to the shower and see that I already have all the valances I need. Booo I really wanted to put them up this morning. I'm still going to "open" the bedding set formally at the shower along with anything else people send us ahead, I just was hoping to get that one thing done ahead of time.
Quad mama hasn't checked in here in a while-but for those of you who don't FB she posted a 29wk bumpdate picture on Tuesday! Still preggo and in the hospital for a little more than a week now.
So my boy cat figured out before I peed on a stick I was pregnant, as the pregnancy has been progressing he's been more and more lovey dovey ( which he never did before pregnancy) . However it seems my girl cat now in the third trimester has just figured out I'm pregnant and has just now started to cuddle with baby. Anyone know do I just have a dumb girl cat or are all girl cats this slow?
I told DH that I am as big now as I was when I delivered DS, weight included. He asked how much I weighed when I got pregnant and I told him I wasn't really sure but ballpark 105-110. "Oh so you're like 135 now right?" god bless you doll, lol, add about 20 lbs to that and now we're talking. I'm glad he doesn't think I look like I gained 50 lbs but then again men are generally pretty clueless about all of that.

Lol the randomest random of the day award goes to....
In all seriousness dogs could totally tell I was pregnant before people could.
@disneybaby84 I have 2 male dogs and 1 female cat. Only the oldest male dog has been significantly in tune to my condition (since about 5w). I think it just depends on the pet!
My animals must just all be jerks because the only time they react to my bump is to glare at it because it's in their way. I'm wondering how you know they know you're pregnant?
@kap1988 when I am not pregnant my cats are not cuddlers, if I want a kitty hug, I have to scoop them up and hug them. When I became pregnant the boy cat began to knead in the uterus area, voluntarily cuddle on me, since 2nd trimester he has constantly kneaded and cuddled with my belly.

All my relatives dogs became instantly glued to my side from about 6 weeks on. Like, I get up to walk into another room and they go with me physically touching my leg with the side of their body, lol. This is three different dogs in two different houses!
My dog doesn't really seem to notice care too much that I'm pregnant. If anything, she maybe "supervises" me a bit more (follows me room to room to keep tabs on where I'm at) but that's about it.

My H's dog has been driving me crazy! And freaking me out. The closer I get to EDD, the closer he gets literally. He can usually be found no more than 2 feet away from me and if he's awake, he's staring at me. It makes me wonder if he knows something I don't know like those dogs that can smell cancer or whatever.
my dog is just driving me nuts. pretty sure he's oblivious to my pregnancy which is fine. he's just not well behaved for me,never has been unless we have the shock collar on him. i find my pregnant self getting very irritated with him, he knocks DS over in all of his craziness and he stinks! well, to me he stinks bc i can smell everything.and he's a choc lab so they apparently have some kind of oil on their fur. i don't even want him to breath with his mouth open lol i feel kind of bad but i am just not a fan of the dog ATM.
It's interesting about dogs. I do think they have some sense about us being pregnant. When I was pregnant with my son, my dogs didn't really treat me any differently, but before my water broke at 5:45am, my female dog was on me like white on rice. I was wondering what was up with her. She followed me to the bathroom as I took my hundredth pee, and then followed me when I was getting back in bed. It was when I went to get back in bed that my water broke. Made me wonder if she sensed something was up.
I thought my dog was finally getting excited about my bump last night bc she jumped up and got all snuggly on it. Turns out I'd just dropped a cheese it in my cleavage that she was angling for. We just bought her a crate so she has her own space when the baby comes and she loves it. She wants to sleep in it at night instead of in my bEd. I'm not ready for my first baby to be out of my bed.
@longliveregina cute!! I held my DD for a nap this week for the first time in a good 6months. Made me feel bittersweet : excited to have a new one to cuddle for lots of naps so soon, but also made me realize my "baby" is growing up! So big compared to a newborn. Sad but happy to say goodbye to having her as an only child.
@BaileyGirl we are worried how we are going to get our guys out of the bed for when she arrives!! They would much rather be with us than their houses (crates)!

Neither of my cats are super snugglers, but my boy cat has snuggled the bump a few times. The baby was kicking him and he didn't care. It was adorable, but not any more frequent than before.
My girl cat is a total daddy's girl and wouldn't snuggle with me to save my life.
Impatient to wait for Wednesdays HDBD: so I'm just gonna leave this AW comparison photo here. 16 vs 36 wks (this weekend) 20weeks difference! 1-the human body amazing 2-basketball status has been fully achieved. 3: I really want my body back.
Anyone else looked back and made any of these side by sides yet?
I remember right before I peed on a stick, my dog was acting super weird and wouldn't sleep with us at night and was being generally pouty. He was like that for about a week after we found out I was pregnant but then he's been pretty much the same since then.
I'll have to pull up pics on my phone but I always find it crazy when I look at my comparison pics of bump so far too! I'm definitely at basketball status as well.

Our cats have not acted too differently with me, though my husband's cat who has always been his other wife and will generally have nothing to do with me whatsoever has been laying on me when we're in bed together lately. Still ghosts me when my husband isn't right there with me, but she throws less of a fit when I have the nerve to pet her lately.
I had some excruciating back pain yesterday and the nurse at my OBGYN office told me that it's probably the baby's position putting pressure on it, and to get him to move, just get on all fours and stay in that position for about three minutes. Mystified as to just what I was doing, my cat chose that time to paw at my hair, then roll around in it (I have very long hair) and then rub herself back and forth all over my face.
@Cbeanz love the smiley face choices hah. You look so great!! Look like you haven't gained a single place other than your bump!!
I have some comparison ones I did when when I was 18wks in a matching outfit ... if I get around to it I want to put the same clothes on as one of my term pics from DD.
@kjd291 I started to do a 10-20-30 week comparison, but when I saw how crappy I looked at 10 weeks, I closed the file. Why didn't anyone tell me I looked so sick?
Here I am at 28 weeks with both boys. I think at this point I'm a little bigger now than I was with DS1. Once I hit third tri I do a trimester comparison. It's crazy to see how we grow!
top 3 texts from DH's first full day alone with DS:
1. CJ might not nap today, he got ahold of my iced coffee. 2. Don't leave the couch reclined. He can climb it now. 3. There might be yogurt everywhere when you get home.
honestly they did just fine and i knew he would be ok. i just cracked up every time my phone would buzz lol
**oh and side note, found out today my sister plans on coming up when i go into labor and will be able to watch DS when we go to the hospital!!! breathing the hugest sigh of relief
DHs birthday was today, so we spent the whole day doing a "food tour" of the city. Picked our favorite restaurants, split 1 dish, then went onto the next place. We spent 9 hours on and off eating. It was amazing. it was like a pregnant woman's dream. i wish I could do this every weekend.
