Just found out I have a bunch of gallstones and I need to have surgery before the transfer. They will do the outpatient surgery tomorrow. I hope they can push the transfer off one day. This is a painful blessing in disguise I guess. So upset right now

@BecauseLove, beautiful little embaby! I had the same thing happen to me at my first transfer. I was miserable and had to pee so badly. They did let me empty my bladder a little and I was so nervous that I wouldn't be able to stop. I learned that I didn't need to drink nearly as much.
@Winnie81 I had my gallbladder out November 2015, not fun! The surgery isn't too bad and I was feeling better by the second day. Good luck and I hope it doesn't mess up your transfer but don't push yourself!

Hey guys, pretty sure I'm out for January. Right after eating dinner last night, my upper stomach starting cramping. It was so severe that I had trouble breathing, so I went to the ER and found out its gallstones. I'm having surgery to remove the gallbladder today, so although it's a simple procedure, they will want me to heal before the transfer. I'm thankful this happened before the transfer, but this is just really disappointing. To try for so many years and then have it pushed off longer. I guess it could always be worse.

@vic311 how are you feeling? I'm struggling in this TWW as I still have 1 week and some change (won't get the call until next Tuesday afternoon). Even if (WHEN) it is positive, I'm still scared sh*tless of it not doubling as I've been there too many times.
@becauselove what a great picture! Glad everything went smoothly, even with drinking too much water! I feel like that's been a common thing for those with recent transfers - I had to let some out too and that was not fun! I love that this big, crazy, lonely IF world can feel so small! Monday wasn't too bad actually. One person in my office on campus knows the reason I was out so she did a good job of running interference for me yesterday with any really stressful things. I have no clue why my clinic waits so long, it's torture! DH's competition was today, so I'll find out if my cookies were a winner this afternoon!
@winnie81 oh no! I'm so sorry you are dealing with gallbladder issues and you'll have to wait until you heal from surgery. Hopefully it won't be too much of a delay!

AFM, finally was able to go to the doctor yesterday (first chance I had due to snow), and was given an inhaler. I did take some Robitussin, too, but I'm not sure it did anything. I swear I feel like I've been coughing out my lungs.
It's still early, so things may change, but fever hasn't been as high today. Hoping it is on its way out.

@Winnie81 I'm sorry to hear about your gallbladder! I'm sure that is awful pain, but I'm glad they are taking care of it. The delay will suck, but it'll take that long to recover from this minor surgery and feel like yourself. The body can only handle so much at once! Well you ladies sure know how to cheer a girl up! Thank you for your encouraging words. After accepting that the transfer will be delayed, my clinic called and told me there was a miscommunication with the embryologist and he thawed my embryo (not sure how much). I spoke with them last night to tell them I'm at ER and on standby, then spoke with them this morning to confirm cancelling. They reassured me several times that the thawing would not happen, so I am just livid. They said more than likely its fine, but that is a huge mistake to make.

@joslynj11 those look delish! I may have to make those this weekend! I have made the Brigaderios before. A bunch of us always have an little party during the Olympic Opening ceremony, get beer from a bunch of different countries and make desserts from the host country so I made those this year. They are pretty easy and delicious!
@Winnie81 oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that happened. As for the gallbladder surgery I'm glad they found it before the transfer because finding it after would have caused you an enormous amount of stress. My first IUI was pushed back a month because of my crappy gallbladder so I get the angst. So sorry you're going through this.

AFM.... I'm so freakin' happy I could cry. Estrogen levels came back >200 and my transfer is a GO for the 15th!! My day started off so crappy too. Locked myself out of my car AND out of my house and had to ask DH to drive all the way back here to let me in. THEN got to my bloodwork/ultrasound appt late which then made me even LATER to work. Ugh....I was so frazzled. Luckily I have awesome coworkers who covered for me ....then I received the phone call that I was a go. Gonna celebrate with a tiny glass of wine with the hubs before I cut myself off for the transfer! Now to patiently get through these next few days

@mtpbadger, hang in there. Yes, the TWW can seem like forever. Why can't vacation or three-day weekends go as slow as the TWW?
@APM_SLP yes, this rain is something else. I moved to the Bay Area five years ago and I have never seen anything like this here. I was born and raised in Seattle and I'm even impressed by all of this rain. Congrats on the dark lines! That is so exciting.
AFM, my RE didn't order a third Beta since my number doubled. I really wish I could get a third, because I seriously don't feel pregnant. No real symptoms except occasional "stirrings" in the uterus. And my boobs seem big (not complaining about that). No soreness though. Otherwise, nada. I've been doing HPT's to remind myself this is real.

SingleGeneMe Do you know the grade of the embryo you transfered? My grade was day 5 5aa which meant that on Day 5 of them growing my fertilized egg to blast that it developed tight inner cells and tight outer cells...it also means that it was hatching out of its shell. https://www.advancedfertility.com/blastocystimages.htm Has a link to look at the different gradings.
You could have transferred a 6aa that had already hatched or you might have transferred a 4aa that was going to start hatching once it was embedded into your uterus.
Does that make sense?
Winnie81 Oh Winnie I am so sorry but good to take care of the gallbladder before a transfer as living with it for the extended future would have sucked. I can't believe they started thawing your embryo...I would be so pissed and I would make sure to talk to both your dr and the embryologist to get more info. @vic311 how are you feeling? I'm struggling in this TWW as I still have 1 week and some change (won't get the call until next Tuesday afternoon). Even if (WHEN) it is positive, I'm still scared sh*tless of it not doubling as I've been there too many times.
@becauselove what a great picture! Glad everything went smoothly, even with drinking too much water! I feel like that's been a common thing for those with recent transfers - I had to let some out too and that was not fun! I love that this big, crazy, lonely IF world can feel so small! Monday wasn't too bad actually. One person in my office on campus knows the reason I was out so she did a good job of running interference for me yesterday with any really stressful things. I have no clue why my clinic waits so long, it's torture! DH's competition was today, so I'll find out if my cookies were a winner this afternoon!
@winnie81 oh no! I'm so sorry you are dealing with gallbladder issues and you'll have to wait until you heal from surgery. Hopefully it won't be too much of a delay!

AFM, finally was able to go to the doctor yesterday (first chance I had due to snow), and was given an inhaler. I did take some Robitussin, too, but I'm not sure it did anything. I swear I feel like I've been coughing out my lungs.
It's still early, so things may change, but fever hasn't been as high today. Hoping it is on its way out.

I'm so freakin' happy I could cry. Estrogen levels came back >200 and my transfer is a GO for the 15th!! My day started off so crappy too. Locked myself out of my car AND out of my house and had to ask DH to drive all the way back here to let me in. THEN got to my bloodwork/ultrasound appt late which then made me even LATER to work. Ugh....I was so frazzled. Luckily I have awesome coworkers who covered for me ....then I received the phone call that I was a go. Gonna celebrate with a tiny glass of wine with the hubs before I cut myself off for the transfer! Now to patiently get through these next few days

AFM, my RE didn't order a third Beta since my number doubled. I really wish I could get a third, because I seriously don't feel pregnant. No real symptoms except occasional "stirrings" in the uterus. And my boobs seem big (not complaining about that). No soreness though. Otherwise, nada. I've been doing HPT's to remind myself this is real.

SingleGeneMe Do you know the grade of the embryo you transfered? My grade was day 5 5aa which meant that on Day 5 of them growing my fertilized egg to blast that it developed tight inner cells and tight outer cells...it also means that it was hatching out of its shell. https://www.advancedfertility.com/blastocystimages.htm Has a link to look at the different gradings.
You could have transferred a 6aa that had already hatched or you might have transferred a 4aa that was going to start hatching once it was embedded into your uterus.
Does that make sense?
Winnie81 Oh Winnie I am so sorry but good to take care of the gallbladder before a transfer as living with it for the extended future would have sucked. I can't believe they started thawing your embryo...I would be so pissed and I would make sure to talk to both your dr and the embryologist to get more info. Here they are our 2 little hatchling embryos! The transfer was a success the embys were a good grade. Now we wait and see if they stick!
