I feel so stupid. What I thought was pregnancy insomnia has disappeared ever since I decided to sleep with my shutters down. Who thought I would be so sensitive to light? I have slept through every night since (well, aside from getting up 100x to pee).
So tonight is the national championship game for college football. My H is a police officer for the City of Clemson. He has worked all weekend, at night, because it was his normal schedule. Now he has to go in 6:30pm-3am or longer because of the game tonight. I was wondering why they think they need so many extra people because it's not in town and last year wasn't bad at all. Until I heard on the news this morning that the city is lifting it's open container ban for tonight and having a viewing party on the main street. It's so stupid!!! The people can go into the bars to watch or have a party at their own house! Plus it'll be cold. I'm just really annoyed that he doesn't get a day off this week and we're on baby watch. Ugh!
So for those that are wondering. I Just got a voicemail(didn't hear my damn phone). Doctor called to say bile acids are on the high end of normal, but that my liver enzymes are elevated as well. She Wants to run more lab work and have an abdominal ultrasound today.
So I'm officially starting to get into a bit of a freakout mode. Finally took Christmas down this weekend and I'm left with the fact that I have nothing set up for the baby yet and I'm 5 weeks away! I had hoped we would be in a new house by this point and so held off on doing much of anything and from mid-Aug until now it's just been a whirlwind of travelling and family events/holidays that hasn't really allowed a ton of time. This poor kid doesn't have a room :-( (she'll be in our room for the first several months anyway but still), I have no idea where I'm going to put her stuff (not much room in son's drawers and closet, frantically looking into getting a dresser we can fit in his room somewhere for this poor kiddo), none of the equipment or clothes have been laundered or pulled out of the basement storage and I'm just getting overwhelmed by the amount of things that need to get done! And what if I go into labor early or have to be induced early b/c of the GD!??!?!!?
*breathes into paper bag*
I so wish I could take this month off from work to get my act together :-/
Thanks everyone! Currently waiting for ultrasound luckily our doctor is in the building next to the hospital so she was able to get us in the same day!
A co-worker's wife brought in their eight week old son to visit today... That totally made the afternoon. It's funny, a bunch of us women on the floor just stood in a circle watching him eat, completely content to just stand in silence and watch the baby.
@Xstatic3333 sadly, no... Most flights in and out of PDX (where we are) were canceled from noon Saturday-midday Sunday, which H knew was happening on Friday since he works for an airline, so we would have had to drive. And with an ice storm blanketing NW Oregon and SW Washington overnight, driving home would have been treacherous. Pretty bummed we missed it, since it looked like it would have been a fun game to go to. I had suggested we go to the Blazers/Pistons game Saturday night instead, but THAT got canceled due to weather. We basically didn't leave the house at all on Saturday.
I just (finally) called the insurance company to see how much we'd have to be paying for the hospital and I was super surprised to learn it's only a $100 copay. I was nervous because I've heard people having to pay a few thousand so this was a great surprise.
Ok so repeat labs show liver enzymes continuing to increase and bile acids in the high end of normal. Thankfully my ultrasound came back as normal so no leisons or problems with my organs. My Doctor will be treating me(per high risk OB recommendation) for cholestasis and prescribing ursoidol(sp?). I'll also need to come in weekly for Baby monitoring and NST, then induced delivery at 37 weeks. If the medication doesn't begin to show improvements within the next week, my doctor will transfer me to High Risk OB for further treatment regarding elevated liver enzymes and other possible conditions. This is honestly the best result out of the liver related issues, that I could hope for. Thankful to have some peace of mind and hopefully we can safely make it to 37 weeks with this treatment!
@kirstynikole sending positive vibes your way and hoping everything is smooth sailing with your treatment until you hit 37 weeks. How many weeks are you now?

@kirstynikole I hope the medication helps to show improvement, and that everything goes bump free for a while!! I'm glad the ultrasound looked good, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts!
Thanks y'all! I'm currently 32 weeks- I'll be 33 on Thursday.(she changed my initial due date to his exact measurements since he was measuring behind at the beginning) Honestly this morning when she called with the initial results I had a bit of a panic attack about possibly having to deliver urgently or within the next week(if helpp or aflp). After having further tests and being told 37 weeks I can definitely handle. Yea it sucks but I'm just thankful because it could've been worse. Trying to just stay positive and take it day by day!! Seriously though thanks for all the thoughts- it's been a stressful few days.
My my heart goes out to all the preemie moms. It's an overwhelming feeling that I didn't fully understand until hearing the possibility today. Seriously you ladies all rock!
@kirstynikole, I hope the medicines work that keep you from needing to deliver earlier and to relieve the symptoms!
+1 on all kinds of things above. Hip pain, heartburn, acidic burps, not sleeping well, feeling like a whale. Walking sucks, and I need to sit down after things like walking up the stairs.
I have crazy skin tags too, to add to my third trimester sexiness. My neck especially is looking old, wrinkled and full of moles and skin tags.

DD just came down the stairs and was staring at me. I asked her what she was doing (bed time for them was 2 hours ago) and she was like "I was just seeing...(a bunch of mumbling I couldn't make out)... that thing on my floor in my room." I was like "what?" And she started rambling again but I couldn't make it out, then ended with "YEAH!" I got her back up to bed, but I think she was walking/talking in her sleep. My husband has had times like that and it really freaks me out!!!

I used to do this ALL the time when I was young! My mom would be like "you came into the living room with soap last night and wanted to wash the carpet" or something ridiculous. I even locked myself out of the house once. It stopped around college haha! Sometimes I would remember some of what I did, so ask her if she remembers anything! I still sleep talk on occasion, my fiancé finds it hilarious.
Freezing rain here this morning and the sidewalks at work were still covered in black ice because they were just started to get the salt down. A pregnant woman's nightmare. I literally had to shuffle in to my building at a snail's pace
@kswiger06 - DH does this sometimes and it used to really freak me out. The most memorable time was when he insisted we turn on all the lights and take the blankets & sheets off the bed because he was convinced there were 'fuzzy worms' in bed with us. It's weird because he's usually awake but can't differentiate between reality and dreams at those times. Now that I know this is a thing, I usually just ignore him or spend a bit of time explaining that whatever crazy thing happening was a dream.

Same with DH. He has sleep paralysis sometimes too and it's very frightening when he can't wake himself up. He will start shaking and trying to wake his body up. I usually have to kick him or shove him pretty hard to get him to finally wake up. Other times he will sit up and ask who is standing in the corner, what is crawling on the ceiling, or weird stuff like that. Then he peacefully falls back asleep and I'm sitting in bed like this for the rest of the night:
