@SandNStarsNJ I'm going to need to be the one blocking out how hard it is if we're going to have more! I keep saying to my H that I'd be ok if time sped up to when he's six months and then slowed back to normal. Newborn is harder than I expected and honestly I can't even fathom doing it with one or more toddlers to also keep alive. I have a whole new respect for second time moms. Truly, when do you sleep?!
You don't sleep so much as uncontrollably pass out occasionally on the couch, but this phase ends and you start sleeping again. It's the worrying that never ends.
I told H some day he would miss this (meaning the sleepy baby snuggles) but he says no he won't. ANd honestly 20 years from now I bet all he will remember is the crying which is sad
Pretty sure you're officially old when you wish the neighbors would stop lighting fireworks because it might wake the baby. But really, enough is enough.

This and we put tape over the doorbell. I've got the old lady feels.

Yes! The funny thing is my H is big into fireworks and puts on a big display in the 4th. I was cursing fireworks so badly last night and they just kept going. I was like yep This is what people think of him
I need growth weeks to end DESPERATELY. He has been up since 4:30 this morning, napped for one hour around noon, and has nursed for 4 hours and counting! I want a life... or at least a bathroom break.
LO usually goes down between 9:30 and 10 and wakes to eat at 2, 4:30, and is up for good at 7:30-ish... the upside to him pushing out his schedule to 1am last night is that I am sitting on the pump for the first time. And, yes, I still hate it.
ETA: little bigger woke 6 minutes later and I'm nursing...
Our usual bedtime in the house is around 1/130 ish and he sleeps until 9/10. Were soon going to try to start going to bed at 12 and then eventually get to 11-7!
DD used to sleep at around 11 then it became 2 and last night it was 4.30am. she was in a growth spurt last few days and she wanted to feed constantly at nights. I think she is back to her normal today , hope she sleeps normal too
Ok so I'm going back to work in a month and wanted him in a night time routine and in his crib before then so we started a routine a few weeks ago and tonight is the first night in his crib. We tried a few times for his nap but he didn't last long at all (in sleep sack). Hes been in his crib for 45 minutes in the merlins magic sleep suit and he's out. He's rousted a bit but hasn't cried at all. Could this be?!! He hates his hands swaddled so I would just swaddle his legs in his rock n play. He's been sleeping sooooo good so I'm nervous to screw it up but I hope this magic sleep suit is really magic!
Decided to try sleeping in bed tonight. Woke at 11:50 and then again at 12:20 which is pretty close to LO night feeding so I decided to get up to facts him before crying. Looked at monitor he is sacked out so I pumped (we bottle feed at night). Here it is 1:25 and he is still asleep - that means I could have gotten another hour of sleep guess I need to just wait for him to wake me up in the future. This is the longest he's ever gone though and I probably will wake him to eat soon so he doesn't go too long

How long has he been sleeping? There's no reason to wake him if your doc hasn't told you too. Practicing getting longer stretches is a good thing
at almost 4am, DD fell asleep after the feeding and i heard a pooping with gas sound and it was smelly. first i wanted to let her sleep, but i could never t sleep with that idea and declded to change her , only to find out it was only gas ! aghhh

That's the worst! A few weeks ago, I'll admit, I just put him down. And it turned out to be only gas.
DS still doesn't exceed 3.5-4 hours, but I'll take what I can get. My toddler, however, has woken up twice tonight in excitement as we're seeing Daniel Tiger Live today, so I'm still getting like 2 hour "naps".
@anne11716 that's awesome! We used one for my first and I tried it for this Lo since he will only sleep if it's co sleeping, but he's still too small for it
(This is also a partially WTF Wednesday post)Babe is usually such a good sleeper but last night was a nightmare. DH was downstairs playing video games last night. I put baby in crib around 130. Argued with DH via text until 245 because he wouldn't come upstairs and he ALWAYS wakes me up when he comes up and I was tired so I told him to come up or sleep there. Horrible. 345 baby woke up with blood curdling screams! Couldn't even get his diaper changed because I'd put him down and he would freak out. DH came up then. Was feeding and snuggling baby until 515 when he went back in his crib. DH was snoring so loudly last time I looked at the clock it was 6am.... alrightt for DH. He comes to bed at 4am and goes right to sleep and is still snoring next to me while I feed the baby. He just doesn't care about my sleep!!!
Baby slept almost 7 hours before I woke him up to feed (I think he wakes up during that time off and on but was quiet). I couldn't decide on waking him up to eat, I was trying to avoid the super pissed off starving cry since when I fed him it had been over 7 hours. I think my "fear" is that he's still pretty small so I want him to eat. After his bottle he slept/was quiet another 3.5 hours before waking up seeming to be hungry again and then was starving even after that bottle I assume making up for his longer stretch
That sucks @kristah2... it's got to be a guy thing when we're breastfeeding. I get poked when the monitor wakes him up as though it's an inconvenience.
LO has barely slept since 4:30. We finally got her sleeping about an hour ago. But now every attempt to put her down in her bed she wakes up. DH and I were going to try and have sex for the first time tonight. I don't think that is happening. I have resigned myself to sleep sitting up on the couch holding her. So basically a bunch of 5 minute naps.
Our monitor did its unlink-link beep at 415 - about 30 min after I'd fallen asleep after feeding him. H is pissy he couldn't fall back asleep and decides to buy a new one asap bc ya know when it woke me up 5 times the other night it wasn't a problem but once for him and it is priority #1 at 7am when baby woke again to feed. Sure DH id love to talk monitors when I've been up 5 min or maybe wait a sec offer to feed baby so I can pump. But nooo you keep talking monitors and looking online and I'll feed and try to pump and get dribbles bc I'm annoyed
M is sleeping in his crib in the nursery for the first time at night (we do naps during the day but bassinet in our room at night). I'm not going to lie, I'm freaked out about it. I keep obsessively checking the monitor to see if he's ok. I think the thing scaring me most is I can't see if he's breathing like I can in my room. I don't know why this is a concern only at night; I don't think like this during his naps!
@MrsMaryK2016 I'm in the same boat! He started Friday night in his crib and my eyes hurt from string at the monitor! It gets easier, a little lol. I'm still freaked out even though he's doing great! I put a small blanket under his crib to elevate it a little and that helped me relax a little bit.
@MrsMaryK2016 be strong don't move him. Mine has been in his crib since just before Christmas. Mine loves a lot so I occasionally check the video before I go to bed but I've surprisingly been ok without worrying much.
So I put him down at 9:45 last night and he slept until 3, which is cool - he's been doing some five hour stretches lately so nbd. But after that long stretch he's usually up every two hours to nurse. Last night I put him back in the crib instead of moving him and he slept from 4 to 8!! Holy cow I feel like a new woman! I really hope this becomes a trend and wasn't just a fluke.
@sandnstarsnj if you have the energy for it maybe pump a little to relieve pressure but not too much because you never know when they will wake up again
