  • I'm pretty sure it was @GlitterFish with the post in July's UO that most are referring to.
  • They had a couple of pretty inflamatory UOs about alternative births (meaning those outside the hospital or OB care). I mean, I know that OB hospital births are the norm in the States, but we have international members here. I was waiting for those to become more heated back-and-forths...

  • This thread is may fovorite hands down. It may have just taken up 3 hours of my life, but it's super entertaining. Thanks May and June ladies. This thread is hilarious and y'all kill me.
  • @kassyfry HA! I remember that! I was glued to the coverage and laughing so hard. Best news day ever.

@virginiaunicorn11 It wasn't any of your commentary that sent me into a tizzy.  Although... maybe look the other way for a moment while I pop some more junk food into my pie hole (jk)

Oh my god they caught me!!!!!  Dammit, @virginiaunicorn11 did you rat me out?

Can we please discuss how perfect this is.
    Ded!

PS - that Marnie gif is how my 19 month old eats. DH blames me - "monkey see, monkey do." Harumph. No comment.
  • This thread has kept me happy this late afternoon!!

  • @Wearmi1 I don't blame some of them. I'd be pretty over that constant nonsense. But I am sad that we'll lose our entertainment if they go.
  • Tooooooo much greatness to comment back on but, I'm so glad I had 10 minutes to thumb through this thread today. This is great. Everyone here is great.

July wants to make their own FB group.  Who will entertain us if they leave?
Let's send a spy with them.
It's been roundly defeated, no worries. There are several June/July straddlers, aren't there?
  • August is a feisty group. See the Gender Guesses post. One responder points out that there is a difference between gender and sex and is shot down, and is later shot down by a bumper with a "gender non-conforming" child (as if that completely invalidates that there is a difference between sex and gender). My face seeing all the love its supporting this ignorance:

Needless to say, I think I'm going to have to lurk around there for awhile :)

  • @MrsCaliRN, I was shocked at how flippantly that argument was cast aside.

The most annoying one to me was "I'm jealous most of you will be finding out sex/gender"...ummm what's with the /...clearly you know there is a difference in the words so how bout just using them correctly mmmmk?
  • It is interesting how ignorant they come across... no one making the distinction to use the term was being hard on then about it, just more matter of fact...

July/August lurker here.  Like most regular posters I definitely feel I have been beaten into submission in regard to the gender/sex issue.  It's so strange because I think back to even just a year ago, if someone said "gender" they were corrected by almost everyone! I don't know when it changed so drastically, but now you are a some sort of heretic if you simply point out that "sex" is the correct terminology.

    Edited for spelling

  • June has had it's crazy, but we haven't fought about that @tripledaggerWed95976 !
  • June/July straddler! It provides hours of entertainment, not only here, but on the BBC boards. I could give you girls hours of popcorn fodder. We have some...ahem...interesting unicorns as of late.

  • I poked the bear a bit inthe August bmb. Someone wanted to start a thread like ours and some Bono type superhero stepped in and shut it down. I invited her to come read our stuff since she was looking for fun.
  • @neludelu She is a TTGP Grad and is going through a rough time right now with bleeding and scares, so I get her mentality. The OP was just asking for some classic older Bump drama posts or links like ours, harmless stuff... but I can see how it would rub someone the wrong way who is hurting.
  • I just have to say I went over to yhe post in August and then went over to read the post in May that was linked... I'm so unbelievably sad and heartbroken for the woman going through a breast cancer diagnosis... it literally made me cry, I really hope her providers are amazing and she has a great treatment plan that ensures both her and her baby make it through healthy.
  • @michaela0704, so heartbreaking. I could not even imagine.

I totally get why she responded the way she did. I also hope that things work out for her. I didn't appreciate how snarky she was to the OP, the OP might not have known. She was clearly just trying to be a part of the community and wanted to learn more about the lighter side of the bump.

I'm confused as to why we have to do the work for her?

What's the difference between what she asked and this board?
  • @stankonia2014 I totally agree w what you posted.   Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I definitely read her post as, "hi I'm new here and have contributed nothing, but please take time out of your day to compile all of the drama threads and send them to me for my enjoyment."
  • @neludelu, this is a compilation thread for the group, not at the specific request of one poster.
