@dragonfly87 I can't see your chart on mobile, but I'm sure it'll be fine. An open circle makes a blip like that look more understandable. And hey, if after a few days your temps are all up and looking good, and it's just super-annoying to look at, you could also throw it out, whaevs, (noting both fir posterity), and if seeing the little dotted line skipped temp makes you less twitchy than the blip, so be it ;)

Ughh that's the worst! In my old house the boiler was outside. The lines would freeze A LOT and we would lose heat! DH worked overnights back then and I would wake up alone and COLD! Bad memories of lying in bed pissed with like 3 hoodies on, gloves, hat & fuzzy socks.

Testing: I'm totally not KTFU (it's almost literally impossible given our complete lack of sexy time this month and I had light spotting yesterday afternoon) but it's still taking every single last ounce of my self control to not POAS.
R/R: I've been MIA from TB for about a week because work has been so very busy and I'm working late into the night after putting DS to bed. I'm over it but I'm pretty sure it's not getting better any time soon. My supervisor has no idea WTF is going on, one of my coworkers is going on maternity leave any minute, one is on compassionate leave for the next month (I have tons of sympathy - her husband passed away unexpectedly over the weekend), two more are getting laid off in February, another is going on maternity leave in May, and three are retiring in the next six months. So I'm basically learning how to do everyone's jobs for them while my supervisor apparently is not hiring any replacements because she doesn't really understand what everyone does and thinks that the four of us who are left "got it covered." End rant.

I understand why people are upset at the user who wants dim sum for everyone. I'm not tagging her because I don't want to encourage her. However, I don't understand telling her off because she has a long LP. My average LP is 14 days but that means I occasionally have 15 or 16 day LP's and it clearly hasn't helped me get KU. I just want to point out that this is some people's normal and not necessarily hanging a BFP over anyone's head.
@swimsister she never said anything about having a longer than average LP. She wants to wait until 18DPO because by the it's a "foolproof sign of a BFP" and she won't waste a test testing at 14DPO and therefore harm the environment.

@swimsister. Oh no, no one's bitter that she has a long lp. Or that she shouldn't be here if she's ttc. But at 13, 14 dpo, -- rather than simply take a test to find put if she's ku (like we tell drivebys) -- which ALMOST ANYONE would be able to turn if they were really that many dpo -- she came here, introing, SS ing and all the rest, claiming she's WAITING TO TEST, to put us all through four more days of that before, ...surprise! Here's my bfp!
[Eta I dont have a crystal ball.] Maybe she's not ku. Maybe she's not 14 dpo with no AF. But would agree this is a special brand of SS? I sincerely hope she IS pregnant. And if she's not, maybe she will stick around. Reality check and all... :/ but either way, she should probably just POAS.
Eta I see in the Monday TWW thread you plan to take our advice and test. Yay! Try for at least 2 to 4 hour hold since you're not using fmu. And GL!!! Will be stalking August 2017 for your intro there! :D
OR if she's really concerned about the environmental impact of a pregnancy test then maybe she should just buy a pair of ute goggles since they're reusable.

I'm mainly responding to this line from @Sugargirl1019 's post that people seemed to appreciate: "if you truly know O, and you're 15 dpo, you're hanging a BFP over our heads and kind of flaunting it."
I had some feels in response to that, like if this is true, why didn't I get BFP months ago. But, overall we're in agreement about the insensitivity of this poster.

He was glad for the encouragement, but said "just be patient with me".............. so, now of course I'm paranoid that he hasn't actually quit. I'm sure we'll talk about it soon. @Sugargirl1019. Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't looked at what I had posted from that perspective, and didn't realize that people might not want that voice here. My own perspective was simply that of someone who is anxious about the possibility of a BFN that would mean that everything I've been "feeling" is all in my head. I am confident of when I ovulated within one day. My LP is normally 14.5 but sometimes 15. I'm just nervous to take that first test. I hope I'm not alone in that experience. Per everyone's advice, I will test as soon as I can get away to go buy a test.
I clearly also have a lot to learn about how to behave on forums. It's a new culture to me. I'm the first of my friends to try, and DH and I decided we wouldn't really talk about it except me to my BFF until we are pregnant and through first trimester. My BFF has never been TTC, so she has been supportive but doesnt really know how tracking works and things like that so its hard for her to give constructive feedback. We also just moved to a new state and city and I don't know anyone and I've been feeling lonely and like I don't really have a support network of people doing the same things in life. I had heard about how TTC forums might give me room to vent and be in the same boat as somebody else. I didn't realize that what I said was offensive at the time. I sincerely did not mean to offend anyone, and I apologize for triggering negative feelings in anyone here. It was coming from a naive place assuming best intentions from everyone else and dipping my feet in to this new space. I understand that people have been trying for a long time, but it wasn't until you mentioned it that I realized that there might be pain there if it sounds like a BFN is waiting for me as a newbie. I won't post anything else about this cycle, but I hope that if I'm back with a new cycle TTC, I'll be welcome.
Q/CS: I haven't started charting yet, but I'm almost positive I didn't ovulate this month. Now I'm just waiting for af. I called my doc but they aren't concerned about the length of my cycle yet because ingot off completely in September but told me to make an appointment if she doesn't show by mid January. So I'm just waiting. Idk what to do. Should I keep hanging around here? Not post?

@jess0211 WUT. Random, unwarranted baby clothes!?!?!? I think you win the GTKY.
@juliebeannn yikes, boiler issues are no fun! And, props to you for convincing DH to call a professional. Boilers are a special beast.... my DH used to do commercial HVAC, and I vividly recall boilers not being DIY friendly.

Now, I am not encouraging DimSum's behavior, but FWIW I couldn't turn a positive test until 15 DPO and I have a 14-16 day LP. Turns out it was a chemical pregnancy but I had so many symptoms and got negatives up until 14 DPO.
I think she should just take a test, but it is possible for her to get a negative at 13 or 14 DPO and still get a positive later.
@dragonfly87 I think the only thing we were sort of cautious with is, because we do not know her yet, there is a possibility that she will basically know she is pregnant (like if you have a 14 day LP and you're 17dpo...) and will just keep hanging around being all "no idea! I'll just keep hanging here!" while refusing to take a test. From her kind response I'm thinking she isn't that person. But we just don't know her yet.
It's a completely different thing if you're testing negative and then get a surprised bfp.
Wow! The site looks a lot different from the computer. But all the ads really slow me down
@dimsum4everyone lol at her calling it your "montlhies" @hartmich I would LOVE a grocery store gift card. @antoto: I could see that and understand. I was more concerned about the statement that you should be able to turn a test by 13 or 14 dpo. But yes, not knowing a poster and the circumstance is definitely a different situation.
@antoto: I could see that and understand. I was more concerned about the statement that you should be able to turn a test by 13 or 14 dpo. But yes, not knowing a poster and the circumstance is definitely a different situation.
Yeah that's true about testing - I know someone who was like 16 dpo before they could turn a test. Crazy stuff.

Totally agree. I didn't get either of my bfp's until 15 dpo and I have a 13-14 day lp. ETA that I also agree that not testing that far out from your normal lp and continuing to post can create tension on the board.

@antoto I tested the morning of my beta because I didn't want to get bad news in my cube farm. I was on progesterone so I didn't have any pre-AF symptoms, so the test was the only way to know if the IUI worked and of course without symptoms my hopes were way up. I was so nervous to read the test, but it was a lot better for me to get the bad news in my bathroom at home. And on the other hand, if you end up with a positive test, you can whoop it up in the privacy of your home and not freak out coworkers

Re: BFPs at various DPO. Of course, there are always exceptions. Statistically if close to 90% of pregnant women will turn a text at whatever dpo, that still leaves a little over 10% who won't. Totally. For reference, this particular chart doesn't show that drop below 10% until 21DPO! So while statistically the majority can turn a test by 13 or 14 dpo, that is by no means a hard rule, or will apply in every case.

@antoto, thanks for the compliment! I love the profile pic!
@Brooklyngirl6 I can't imagine trying to wrangle kids the week before Christmas break... may the force be with you! And, carrot vibrator..... that's amazing
@hartmich sorry for impending AF
@lulu1180 I'm so glad you had a normal cycle, but I totally get being super disappointed. If you drink, enjoy all the booze for Christmas.
@kiwi2628 Noooo! Ugh, so sorry for CD1.
@WillRunForWine21 hahaha, I love that you and DH hide the creepy sculpture around the house to scare each other. Makes me think of the Friends episode with Phoebe's painting with the girl coming out of the frame.
@JulesDP oh man. I understand wanting to be more creative and personal than giving a gift card, but not if the next best option is holiday themed cocktail napkins and paper plates

My sister gave me this creepy old photo of my dad's parents (aka my grandparents, we were not close) and put stickers on it that said family forever. And now it has just become a game of how to smuggle it into the others house without them knowing, lol.

TW Loss mentioned:
Now, I am not encouraging DimSum's behavior, but FWIW I couldn't turn a positive test until 15 DPO and I have a 14-16 day LP. Turns out it was a chemical pregnancy but I had so many symptoms and got negatives up until 14 DPO.
I think she should just take a test, but it is possible for her to get a negative at 13 or 14 DPO and still get a positive later.
It's a completely different thing if you're testing negative and then get a surprised bfp.
@dimsum4everyone lol at her calling it your "montlhies"
@hartmich I would LOVE a grocery store gift card. I am all about practical gifts
@Sugargirl1019 I'm dying for a roomba!
Sorry about all the CD1s and temp drops
ETA that I also agree that not testing that far out from your normal lp and continuing to post can create tension on the board.

@dimsum4everyone I also applaud your refreshingly honest response to our feedback. That is pretty rare among the people we usually see cruise through here. ;)
