Damien was born at 7.3lbs and at 20 weeks he is 15.4lbs. He was 20.2in at birth and is now 25.3in.

I asked the dr about her sleeping so much and if I should wake to feed her. (She sleeps 10-12 hours a night) he said nope. Her growth chart is beautiful and consider myself lucky. Now I understand why she wasn't a real active baby while I was pregnant. She loves to sleep haha! Must get that from daddy because mommy never sleeps. Mouth first plane ride. She fell asleep during take off lol

Just had Levi's 4 month check last week.
Birth : 8lbs 5oz, about 20" long
4 month: 15lbs 8oz, 26.5" long.
Height/weight about 60%, head is in the 90's%!!

But boy is he a flirt!

He was 4months on Nov 1st and 6 month hats are too small. He's also about to move up to size 3 diapers and his Carter 6 month footed zip PJs are starting to look a little snug.

@stayingfocused okay, I was just curious. Sam's was 17.5 at 4 months and my pediatrician was a little concerned bc it's so large so we did an ultra sound to make sure everything was okay. It was nerve wracking, luckily everything came back normal.

Very tall for his age and really skinny. Still wearing his 0-3 months (sometimes, since his jeans look like capris, lol)

Wow what is the weight percentage vs hight percentage? I feel like Preston has a long torso cause he fits in 9 month lengthwise but it's roomy around the belly. Granted the diaper doesn't help lol

Your LO and mine could be twins, although mine weighs 16.10 and is also 27.5. His birth weight was 8lbs 4oz. and born at 22 inches.

Has your pediatrician been concerned? Ours not so much but the GI specialist was and we had to fortify formula for a while now.

ETA: she is happy with his weight, he is back on his curve. I feel like he is such a mini though lol.

@Delitachan Our ped isn't concerned (I was because he dropped from 46 to 38 percentile in weight since 4 months). Our son is super active and currently trying to crawl so the ped said the weight percentile change was absolutely due to how active he is

Good to know!! Our DS is in the 24th percentile and has been a bit lethargic, but he's been running a fever. No interest in crawling or sitting on his own though.

DS is 86% height. This is one tall boy.

21.7 pounds and 28.5 inches long! Can't remember head circumference (17 something).

So, he loves his walker and the pediatrician said we should not be using one because it can cause issues with their hips developing incorrectly. He also said for the exersaucer that the baby should be on his tip toes, not able to put his feet flat and push off the bottom...like ours is!?...for the same hip reasons. I can see that, but it's not like he's in it all day. I don't want to take it away but now I feel like I should.

That's really interesting! Our physical therapist said Damien should be flat on his feet when he is standing or bouncing. She also mentioned staying on his toes can cause malformations of the calf muscles and that's what causes walking on the balls of the feet. That said, we were warned to only let him play in his activity center and jolly jumper for 15min per day.

I also heard from the pediatrician not to let bouncer/Walker activities go longer than 15 min a day. Our OT said the same thing. In fact she didn't really want us propping him up to sit either. Said he that the should learn to get up there on his own and that's how we'd know he was truly ready to stabilize himself and have the core strength. Of course I do it any ways. Lol

6 month check up today! No shots because Tristan has an ear infection that just came on yesterday. We go back just before Christmas for those. Our little guy had made it on the growth charts at 5%.

Birth weight: 4 pounds 10 ounces
Weight: 14 pounds 12 ounces

Length: 26 inches

Head: 41.5 cm

Welp, officially a problem child now. Miles is falling off his weight chart, drastically, and it's starting to affect his length chart too. In good news, he's happy, meeting milestones, and his head is still large. Ugh this is just too weird. Ped suggested, but didn't require, a formula supplement once a day, just to see. We go back in 2 weeks to do another weight check

Our son dipped pretty bad at his 4 month appt from 17% to 3rd% at 6 months he is up to 5%. My twins (birth weight 3 lbs) were not on the chart until 15 months. We pumped and supplemented with formula for 8 months with our twins then went only to formula. This baby has been only on formula since 1 month old. My advice would be to try supplementing with formula, we started supplementing with our girls while they were in the NICU and the extra calories really helped their growth. Good luck! My baby was only 14.8 at his appt a few days ago so you are definitely not alone in the tiny child arena.

We started at the ped's suggestion after that 4 month check up and she gained a pound in just two weeks. We're now up to 3 solids a day in addition to 4-5x nursing a day. She eats 3tbsp oatmeal w/ 2 ounces breastmilk and then a 4 ounce serving of fruit or vegetable
in the afternoon and evening. She has a great appetite. At her 6 month this week she was up to 16%. Still just 14lb 6 ounces, so still a little peanut but she's back on the growth curve.

I love BF, but I'm not going to let any BF pride get in the way of my baby's development

You could also try pumping before bed or first thing in the morning and supplementing with that? Although if I recall correctly you're back at work so timing may be an issue.

Yup, already pumping 3 times a day at work. He's wetting a sufficient number of diapers a day, and takes 10+ ounces via bottle plus nursing 4 (or 5 if he's a real stinker and makes me nurse him twice overnight) times a day otherwise. It's like the calorie content of my milk has just dropped off. I've lost most of my breastfeeding hunger. So for now I'll replace one bottle with a higher calorie option and see what happens

Sounds like you've got it down. I'm sure that starting formula was hard on you, but you're doing the right thing and have the right attitude. Keep us posted on how he's doing!
