I'm tired of people, when they hear we are having a boy and already have a girl, respond with "oh how exciting, you can be done now". Um no we probably aren't done, we weren't trying to achieve some magical set.

This was a huge annoyance of mine before I got pregnant. Now that we are going for a third, people seem perplexed that we would mess with the magical boy/girl combination.

Mine is I don't care about ultrasounds or hearing the heartbeat on the Doppler. I mean it's nice to hear things are going well but I get zero feelings or excitement from it.
Same for nursery planning. It's not my jam. I feel to real push to do it and I don't really obsess over it.
So tldr; I'm not a fuzzy emotional pregnant lady and don't get why people are so jazzed about it.
Coming from a history of losses, ultrasounds and hearing baby's hb, mean everything.

Yes I used to hear "boy/girl twins, you're lucky, you got both at once and now your done"
My UO is that I hate nice drivers that let people out, etc. Don't get my wrong, I appreciate the courtesy, but it causes accidents. I wish people would just follow the rules of the road.
Edit: not so much letting people out, but more like waving someone on to cross multiple lanes of traffic.
I don't have an opinion on Pentatonix Christmas. I saw their guest appearance on Sesame Street and thought they were good.
I generally like Pentatonix but am not overly familiar with their Christmas songs.
I do kinda get warm and fuzzy about appointments and hearing HB. No loss history but I enjoy it. Granted I've always kinda half enjoyed going to the Dr in the first place. So that helps.
My UO is that I think A Christmas Story is kind of a stupid movie. I'll watch it but it would never make my list of movies to watch on purpose.
@Rebecca517 - weirdly, I didn't want to put anything on FB either. I ended up posting something about a week and half ago because both of our families wanted us to tell extended family, and that was easier than calling everyone. It's kind of nice to have news that only select people know!!
@MrsFreeman2010 - I could not agree more! Everyone keep saying how happy we must be and how lucky we are to be having a girl this time. Can't I just be happy?
My UO is that I hate my 9/80 schedule that's my company enforces. It makes for such long work days, and because I cram a million things into my Fridays "off" it isn't enjoyable
Yes! I'm a huge fan of 80s movies, but I acknowledge that some of them aren't great if you didn't watch them growing up. Christmas vacation, however, is just so relatable and funny.
My family grew up watching A Christmas Story every year and DHs watched Christmas Vacation. I'd much rather watch A Christmas Story, but probably because it's just part of the Christmas tradition! I'll watch Christmas Vacation with DH because he loves it, but not something I'd change the channel to by choice lol

Oh Christmas Vacation and Elf are maybe my top 2 favorites!! Christmas vacation is soooo good and I didn't even see it for the first time until college, so I agree, it's not one yo had to grow up watching to like.
Christmas vacation is one of the best Christmas movies. I didn't watch it until u was maybe 20 or so and I didn't even know what I was missing.
Home alone is also one of my top favs. I don't have any pets but If we ever do get one, I would probably name it Clark or Kevin.. just because of those movies ha.
@vrj0522@nda_roxybabe - We work an extra hour a day, and then have every other Friday off. I loved it before babies! But now it cuts into my time with my little man, and I would happily go back to a regular schedule. I work 630-430, but there is always a day or two a week where I get stuck until 5ish. But it means my son is at daycare from about 6-5, and he's usually ready for bed around 630. Plus, our management wants us using that Friday off for doctor appointments, etc, they are always jammed packed. It's just kind of exhausting.
Gotcha! I currently work 8-5, with a 45ish commute on each end so I'm gone from 7:20-5:40. Once baby comes I'd like to work 7-3:30/4. Hoping traffic will be light then so my commute can be more of the 20 min that it should be.
Long work days with long commutes are rough... I typically leave the house with my girls at 6:45 and get home around 5:15. Our commute alone each day is 1-2 hrs. I feel so guilty that kids spend so much time away from the house and next year will be longer with adding another drop off. I am hoping to find something closer to home but working mama guilt is the worse!
Christmas Vacation makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
You serious, Clark?
I'm not a fan of those type of humor movies, but that one was the worst one I have ever experienced. If I wasn't trying so hard for H's sake, I would've turned it off long before the end. And normally I can sit through those movies...

@absbubbs what type of comedy do you like? I really can't imagine a world in which Christmas Vacation is not completely relatable and hilarious.
haha What have I done?? I just really don't like that stupid humor where the writers force it at every minute even when it doesn't belong. It's like they have a scene and wonder how stupid they can make it before the audience won't think it's "funny" anymore. For this reason, I also only watch about half of Will Ferrell's movies.
I should invite you to spend a holiday with my family. I think Christmas vacation is so funny because it's like an slightly exaggerated true life scenario. We have the grandpas snoring in the living room, my mom is Clark, and we have a few too many cousin Eddies.
This could be both an UO and a FFFC - I hate looking at pregnant people's bellies. I think they are the ugliest things in the world and should be covered up at all times. Seriously, only you and your husband find your shrimp veined belly adorable.

@ShadeofGreen816 I hate A Christmas Story! I have watched it once and never again.
I don't like sushi or any other type of seafood.
