I started losing my mucous plug yesterday, it wasn't all at once, but I know it had to be it. I'm 36w 6d so they wouldn't do anything to stop labor if it happened. But I'm sure I still have some time before anything really gets started.

39and4 Woke up this morning to a very low baby, and pain across my stomach when I move. Lightening crotch is real. Excited, but trying not to get my hopes up. How can I tell if I'm leaking amniotic fluid?
@karalynn95 Amniotic fluid has a sweeter smell than urine. Use the bathroom and then put on a pad. Wait 15-30 minutes and then examine the pad is what my OB told me. If you are super concerned call your doctor - they know way more than I do!
I started having some pretty intense menstrual-cramp-type pain in my lower abdomen this morning around 10 a.m. It did not let up by about 12:30, so I called the perinatal center (where I get my prenatal care and such) and they instructed me to come in. Turns out, according to the NST monitor, that pain was absolutely contractions--pretty intense and 4 minutes apart. They checked to see how dilated I was and they said I was "a few cm dilated." They then told me to head to labor and delivery at the hospital.
At the hospital, they checked me on the monitor again. Contractions still occurred but slowed down a bit. They checked me at the beginning: 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, -3. They said, "We'll come back and check you in a couple of hours to see if the contractions are doing anything." A couple of hours later, they checked again: still 2 cm, 50% effaced, -3. They sent me home. Told me to take a warm bath and Tylenol to help with the pain and return when contractions were 5 minutes apart. -_- Sigh. Just.... big, long sigh.
I've been having just slight menstrual-like cramps all this evening. It's not painful, just annoying. I don't think it's anything I should worry about, right? I'm only 37weeks tomorrow and have had no other signs of labor.

Drink some water, take a bath/shower, and lay down. If they are still going in an hour and have a pattern where the start of each one is 5-10 minutes then its labor or prodromal (false/not changing your cervix).
If that happens I would call the doc. They have the best idea of when to come in.

@Christinaruth74 Right? I felt like an ass after calling my employer and saying, "I'm in labor, so obviously not coming in!" and then being sent home. :P Well, I am in labor, just not.... enough. Haha.
So things may finally be moving in the right direction. I got up a couple of times last night to pee and was almost floored by the intense pain I felt in my vagina every time I tried to sit up. Once I was up, I was ok, but holy hell. Maybe that's a sign that he's finally low enough to get the party going?
Then this morning, I finally lost my mucus plug. Woohoo!
I have been 90% effaced and almost 2cm dilated now, she has been super low ('engaged') for about 2 weeks now and to the point where it hurts to walk. I lost my mucus plug twice since thanksgiving haha-I feel like these signs mean NOTHING! Such a tease. I went walking around the mall to see if I can kick start the labor. After one hour I couldn't anymore, my back and vag are hurting now.

I went on a long walk and did some curb walking (one foot on, one foot off) as my doula suggested. I've been cramping since I got back a few hours ago, but I'm pretty convinced that it's just going to go away once I lie down tonight - that's what always happens. Sigh. He won't stay in forever, right?
I honestly don't expect to go into labor soon since I'm only 36 and 5 days but my vagina has been hurting and sore for what seems like forever, I don't know how to explain it...idk, like I've been on a horse for way too long lol. My dh and I dtd last night because I thought eh, why not? Plus we haven't really done anything for awhile now and won't until after the 6 or so weeks after birth. So, it was interesting to say the least lol but then around 4 am I had some cramping in my uterus and around to my lower back. Not contractions, or what I've felt contractions feel like previously, but hopefully it was helping my cervix get alittle more prepared for what eventually will be happening.
Still having off and on loose BMs. I had a cervix check yesterday and had no spotting after but woke up today with lots of mucus that had some brown blood so I don't like if I'm starting to loose my mucus plug or not. I've walked but and down our stairs a bunch this morning and will probably end up doing it again later. I'm not due for 2 more weeks so I doubt I go into labor today but doctor did say yesterday I'm in latent labor and this could last for weeks.

Not necessarily a sign of imminent labor, but all throughout the day I've been having tight pressure in my lower pelvic and cervix. I'm thinking it's the baby dropping as I'm also feeling more intense lower back pain and hip pain. I was foolish and thought going to the mall to walk around would help with the pain since it was chilly out today, completely forgot it was December and the mall was packed. Lines for the bathroom were not fun because with the cervix pain comes the strong need to pee instantly. May need to just suffer the chill, bundle up, and walk around outside tomorrow.
I'm having regular, slightly stronger contractions this morning. Not uncomfortable, just tightening and pressure. I don't feel like this is labor onset or anything and so I havent timed them. Is that dumb? It's just I would have to sit her and only pay attention to them to be able to time them. Especially because baby girl is fidgeting and some of the pressure feelings are from that...so I would have to keep feeling for tightening. So yea. It's not dumb to keep ignoring them unless they get more intense, right?
@slartybartfast, I tried to start timing some of the pressures I was having on Saturday, but stopped because I knew they were irrelevant at the time since they were over 20 min apart. I said that if I started feeling them more often or they were more intense, then we would start measuring. It was more lightening pain than contractions I am thinking since they became really inconsistent.
Sweet. I'm gonna trust myself on this one. My gut says this isn't it. And if it turns into something, I'll have plenty of additional signs ahead of time.
@slartybartfast I agree. When I start to question "are these contractions", "is my uterus tight or is this baby", or "are these timetable" I try and just ignore it. I just figure if they aren't painful yet I don't need to get to the hospital now anyways. Might as well keep going about my day.
Currently sitting on an exercise ball doing a leak test with a pad on to see if I'm leaking fluids or had an embarrassing moment with my DH while getting a little frisky.
Oh my gosh... the BH and hurting vag are killer today. I have some laundry and cleaning I wanted to do before RCS on Wednesday, but I'm moving in super slow motion. Sloth like.
Just lost my MP.. uh yucky. Is that any indication of labor soon starting? I got checked today and was at 2cm. Supposed to go tomorrow night to start induction. Hopefully I'll start on my own!!

It was for me. I lost my mucus plug at 10am on Friday and exactly 24 hours later I was at the hospital leaking fluid and with mild contractions 11 minutes apart. Good luck!
I lost mine on Saturday morning and by Sunday afternoon I had a baby. As with everything pregnancy, YMMV!
I have high hopes for something similar! I was up most of the night with back pain and contractions so I'm feeling optimistic. The more my body does and less help it needs, the better!
Any others having what I can only describe as the occasional "prickles" in the cervix area? I haven't been checked yet, but I'm hoping it means something is happening...
@littlebirdie28, YES! I've been having them for a few weeks now. This weekend they were extremely intense and I can only find information relating the sensation/pain to lightening. I also get cervix jabs. In my mind, this kid puts it's feet up at the top of my uterus, then pushes off with Superman fists and punches my cervix. This usually results in the immediate need to find a restroom.
@littlebirdie28 I've been experiencing that too, I think. It feels like I'm being jabbed by a pin, very occasionally. Nothing too distracting. Mostly it just happens when I'm out walking. I don't know if that's the same thing as a cervix punch or what...Dr. Google said it might also be the cervix dilating. I'm only 36+5 right now.

@PensiveCrayon & @AbriannaO this baby likes to have it's hands up by the face (and is currently head-down), so I have been getting very familiar with the punches to the bladder. The best is when it's a full body stretch. Woof...where's the ladies room?!?
I lost my plug over the weekend and feel like my cervix is being ripped apart. Very few BH and baby is still super active. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to force this kid out

I'm having stinging, stabbing pains on one side, pretty high up, couple inches under my lef boob. Coming and going every 5 mins or so. I feel like it can't be real labor pains because they're so high up and just in one side. Maybe BH? Or baby stretching hard? I don't know. Maybe this is for stupid questions thread. I feel like I've had like 4 different cramping/contraction sensations in the last couple of weeks, all super different.
