Re: Weekly Symptoms 11/28

  • Nausea is getting better but does still randomly come, usually after eating more than my body wants. Boobs are getting less tender, though still give me issues at night. I have started having cravings. I eat a pickle every day and then the last few days all I have wanted was Chef Boy RD.

  • My nausea is picking back up again after it seemed to subside for a few days. Still exhausted, boobs still sore, and I haven't had too many cravings but all I want to eat is carbs and cheese. Also ate a whole jar of salsa yesterday, then two minutes later I smelled it in the bowl and was instantly nauseous.
  • Y'all.  This insomnia is INSANE.  I never had it with DS.  I wake up at 1:15am on the dot every single night and am up for at least 2 hours, usually closer to 3.  It's been going on for a week and a half.  Pair that with first tri exhaustion, and I'm not sure how I'm going to function!  I have  few other things that come and go, but nothing that's really sticking around yet (only 5w).  Heartburn, occasional bouts of nausea, my skin is a mess... but that's really it so far.

  • @GeorgiaWife6912 have you tried unisom? A lot of girls take it to help with m/s, so it's safe in first tri.
  • @GeorgiaWife6912 ugh, sorry to hear about your insomnia!! I have been SO exhausted recently but still manage to get a good nights rest...I can't imagine NOT getting enough sleep to carry me through the day. Here's hoping it gets better as time goes on!

@hqinmd I can't take it because of work.  I work in a safety sensitive position so we aren't allowed to take any sleeping aids  :|

ETA: Thanks @kat0607  I feel like I'm dying I'm so tired!

  • Ive never posted on here before so hi!!! HOWEVER Today I have the most ick feeling of a headache and a little queasy. I guess 7 weeks in its about time I start feeling like crud LOL Here I thought I was going to avoid it. Oh and the insomnia I get it! If I am not waking up to pee Im waking up and staying awake. I know Im driving my poor bf insane lol

  • @GeorgiaWife6912 Ugh, that sucks. If this keeps up you're going to be worse off than if you took it and got some rest. Can you not take it even on your days off? I know you get called in and have a crazy schedule. I'm sorry.
  • @GeorgiaWife6912 I feel your pain! I feel exhausted, but have a horrible time falling asleep. Then I usually wake up around midnight for an hour or two. My alarm goes off at 4:30, so I definately am not getting enough rest but I don't know what else to do! Also breaking out horribly on my face, chest, breasts and back. Le sigh.
  • So I am angry a lot of the time theses days. Is anyone else having this problem ? It's kind of getting out of control and people are noticing. Some of them know I'm pregnant and some of them don't so I don't know what those people are thinking. I'm usually a pretty calm easy going person but I am acting crazy about things lately. The only thing I can think to do to correct it is just walk away and be by myself until I'm past the angry point. This is definitely  not like my first pregnancy .
  • I've had a ton of different pregnancy symptoms but only mildly. Some nausea, cravings, food aversions, breast tenderness, sore back, sore groin muscles, always too cold or too hot, I forget everything else. I can continue with my normal activities.

But I'm sooooo tired. My ds was playing with something he shouldn't have been yesterday and I couldn't even reach far over to stop him. I just sat there watching him.

Oh but I have officially stopped sleeping try the night. I wake up every two hours for no reason for the last week. Practice for the next two years I guess.

Has anyone else noticed an elevated resting heart rate? I'm not sure what was normal for me pre-pregnancy, but recently my RHR has been between 85-90bpm when I'm just sitting still at my desk. I've been just using a timer and feeling my pulse, but also my husband's smart watch picked up 94bpm on Thanksgiving.
  • @hqinmd I can take it on my days off, so I may try it on Friday and Saturday nights. I *think* the magic number is 24 hours before returning to work.  Luckily, I have no call weeks in December- Thank you Jesus- so hopefully I won't have such a crazy schedule.
@CrystalPDX I have zero issues falling asleep when I go to bed at night, it's just after I wake up at 1:15.  I have no idea what it's the exact same time every night! My alarm also goes off at 4:30 so it's like as soon as I fall back asleep, I have to get back up for work.  Ugh!
@pink flamingo  ( I can't tag you...)  I am definitely more moody that I was with DS but I'm also a lot more exhausted (see my post + having a 2.5 year old DS this time around) and can feel my fuse going MUCH faster than it ever has.  I just have to walk away when it's possible.

@georgiawife6912, I work in a safety sensitive job too.  While I did decide to go out on leave immediately this time Last time I chose to continue working until I would have been made to go on leave at 26 weeks.  The insomnia was a constant struggle because I was always changing time zones and don't sleep well in hotel rooms.  Crown plaza gives out small bottles of lavender spray for your pillow that are suprisingly effective.  Maybe try that when you wake up mid sleep?
  • @kat0607 I'm pretty sure an elevated heart rate is a symptom. I also remember hearing a story of a woman who was wearing a Fitbit or something similar and they thought it was broken bc her heart rate was elevated the the husband asked some forum if anyone else was having a problem before he took it back and most of them said no she could be pregnant and she was.
  • I've been exhausted yesterday and today - though I'm not sure if it was because of a crazy (awesome) family weekend, or if symptoms are finally settling in.

I also felt a teeny bit nauseated yesterday, but passed it off to over eating this weekend. We drove home this morning (about 5 hours) and I definitely felt nauseated for most of the drive in the car. I'm still telling myself that it is just from an indulgent weekend and trying to work in the car, but something tells me I'm not going to be a special snowflake that skips ms...

  •  Nauseous and puking around the clock now.  Insomnia still in full force three weeks now. Didn't have either of these issues with DS. I can fall asleep no problem but I instantly wake up a few hours later and can't sleep all night long. I barfed in the car today. It was horrible. I had a bag ready though.
  • Nausea has started full force here right on schedule when it happened for my first pregnancy, still sore breasts as well!

  • The nausea has kicked in full force. I spent all of Saturday vomiting and couldn't even keep water down. I was so scared it was the start to hyperemesis gravidarum again, but I took unisom and b6 that night and have been able to eat a bit since. Not feeling great, but it's tolerable. Other than that, just extremely tired. Luckily, my daughter is with her father until tonight so I've been able to stay in bed for the last couple of days. My first ultrasound is tomorrow, so I'm so looking forward to that!

  • I have been so nauseous for almost a week now. I'm definitely not eating enough, and the food that I do eat is basically whatever's on the BRAT diet.
  • My nausea secret is to eat an embarrassingly large lunch. Like, GIANT bowl of pasta or burrito large. It keeps me from feeling barfy until at least 6.

Yeah - my resting HR jumped over 10 points (generally ~70, highest was ~85) since around ovulation time. I've noticed it's starting to come back down again this week (9+2 today), so I think that's pretty normal. I also noticed this as part of my regular cycle, highest just before period would start and lowest around 2 weeks in.

  • Not sure if related to the pregnancy or not but my sinuses have been bothering me - along with headaches. Could go either way on that, because it's normal for them to bother me this time of year.

Been feeling less icky of late, hoping that's the placenta starting to kick in :) Had a wave of nausea over the weekend, but it was because I hadn't eaten in a while. I'm def. feeling more hungry, but still can't eat too much because bloat/stomach isn't that big. Breasts are still swollen, but less tender (feel like my bra is getting smaller lol). My next appointment isn't until the 15th, so just trying to take it one day at a time and think good thoughts.

  • OMG, @thepecks, reading that you are starting to feel better in your 9th week is giving me hope that maybe I will start to feel better next week.

Mine too! I had been taking Flonase which is kind of amazing, but I stopped taking it when I found out I was pregnant. I wanted to talk to my dr about it. Anyone here know?

  • @GeorgiaWife6912 tonight when I wake up at 1 am, I will think of you! In a totally not creepy way! ;)
  • @GeorgiaWife6912 Thanks.  That's what I read, too.  Sinus pain it is!

Throwing up right after eating picked up over the
holiday and nausea still back in am and night especially but throughout the day. My least favorite symptoms. and my nipples are been very sensitive and are getting that weird crusty white stuff in the center I assume is milk just leaking through but I never quite figured it out last time either. Oh yeah and my SPD pain made an early comeback. My turkey trot Thursday threw me over the ledge and it's been a constant pain since and I'm breaking out my snoogie pillow from last time

  • Nothing too terribly crazy. Extreme exhaustion, but I can't sleep through the night (I feel ya @GeorgiaWife6912), still pretty dizzy and sensitive nipples. I think the nausea is starting to set in... but it's so mild I'm not sure if I'm imagining it. The bloat is still ridiculous. I've been a little moodier the past few days too.

@chiquita928 and @GeorgiaWife12 now I am nervous because I am also on Flonase and my doctor said it was fine! My first appointment was they day before thanksgiving and I felt very rushed during my visit- I did ask about this explicitly because it is the only medication I am on... hopefully this wasn't an oversight on my OB's part.

Anyone having random hiccups? I keep waking up in the middle of the night with hiccups or getting spells st random parts of my work day. So strange.

Edit because autocorrect ruins all things.
  • Acid reflex just hit, holy crap it's the worst.
  • My usual sweet tooth is gone, so weird. All I want is savory/salty food and milk! Trying to drink as much water as possible, but I'm averaging two tall glasses of milk per day as well. I'm also eating smaller portions, if I eat too much I immediately get a stomach ache. Still no official nausea either.

Non food related; boobs and nipples are still very tender, increased energy in the morning followed by total exhaustion in the afternoon. Mild bloat... and gas :#

Holy nosebleeds Batman!!!! I can't blow my. Ode without suffering a nosebleed that takes forever to stop. I currently have a tissue stuffed up my nostril waiting for it to stop. Anyone else dealing with this? Any tips?

Other than the nosebleeds, I am having typical first trip symptoms. I'm especially tired and my joints are achy.

Just  a side note, my official due date is Aug 2nd, but I don't have a board yet so I have been lurking here for a few days. I will likely deliver early due to late term blood pressure issues that I had with my first two bebes.
  • So far i have just been nauseous, luckily no vomiting.  my breasts are still so sensitive! I wake up so many times to pee at night that i wake up so exhausted for work.
  • I have on and off nausea. I don't exactly feel tiredbut I feel lethargic. Not to mention being on my feet too long makes the morning sickness (which definitely doesn't happen only in the morning) worse. Must eat every couple hours or else the MS! I sleep well at night mostly, but can't seem to take a nap for the life of me, even though most days I would LOVE to. No cravings really, but lots of aversions. Almost every food has been an aversion at this point! Sweets (which I normally love) set me off more than anything. Sore boobs are a big one I've had the whole pregnancy, too.

But I wouldn't  change any of it for the world.
  • @georgiawife6912 girl, I feel you. I wake up at random times every night (usually 2ish though) and cannot fall back asleep for the life of me. Last night I decided to take my morning shower then, and it actually helped me fall right back asleep when I was out. Maybe try that?
  • So recently I've been craving milk. But I'm lactose sensitive so I have to think back to what dairy products I've had recently and not drink to much or my stomach gets super sick.
  • The nose of a hound dog here. No aversions yet, craving odd things I don't normally eat (cup of noodles and grilled cheese, seriously?) i get queasy every once in a while. And I am so exhausted, I didn't think I was going to survive work yesterday.
