@achays11, I would stick with the name since you don't see them all the time. Even if you did see them, it's not a big deal. It might be a little weird if it was a super unique name or if the kid was, like, 4 years old, but it doesn't sound like that's the case.

@MoshiMoshi7 I went to a chiropractor with my last pregnancy and while the relief was wonderful in the moment, a few hours later I was in pain again. My BIL is a PT and he suggested that I try one this pregnancy. He said that they will be able to give me stretches and excercises to do to help with my back pain. He unfortunately doesn't live close to me, so he can't help. Make sure that you go to a PT that deals with or has dealt with pregnant women.
@nda_roxybabe I can't speak to feeling movements etc but at 11-12ish weeks I was at the Dr and he did an ultrasound and baby was pretty still so he tried to kinda poke with the ultrasound wand (transvaginal) which didn't work so I poked on my belly/pelvic area and baby moved its little hands and legs. So I would say yes that baby is sensitive to your touching but whether or not you can feel is dependent on you.
ETF: Apparently transvaginal is not in my autocorrect....
I spent the night in the hospital. I have been having trouble with nausea(no throwing up) and ridiculous exhaustion. My fiancé got worried when he couldn't get me to wake up from napping yesterday and when I did indeed as having horrible cramping. The MFM said go to hospital. So, even though I drink over a gallon of water a day I was severely dehydrated. My potassium and some other levels I can't remember were not good. I had 2 banana bags and several bags of regular IV fluids. The doctor has put me on steroids and is sending me to my endocrinologist. I guess it is related to my thyroid disease. The baby appears to be fine. He was super active and his heart rate was strong. My fiancé had to go back to Rhode Island this morning and it was really hard for him to leave. His mom came to stay with me and my son until I am feeling better. My mom is 30 minutes away but won't be involved because she doesn't agree with my relationship with my fiancé. Sorry for the novel....just wanted to give an update and ask for thoughts and prayers.
@JonesBaby0624 I hope you start to feel better!!! What an awful ordeal. So nice of your FMIL to come stay with you. Prayers for answers and solutions soon.
For those of you doing house renos....how did you go about finacing them? We have a question Reno that we want to hire someone to come do but weren't sure how to even get started with it all.
@JonesBaby0624 Oh my goodness, that's insane! I'm glad your fiance was around at the time so he could see how severe the situation was, otherwise you probably wouldn't even know. I hope you're doing much better and that the doctor finds out what the issue is exactly so the rest of your pregnancy stays smooth sailing.
I've been having really bad RLP pain and SPD pain lately, almost as bad as it was during third tr in my last pregnancy. My OB recommended I go to physical therapy. Has anyone else done this? I was just thinking I'd go to the chiropractor.
I used physical therapy last time. I did not go to the chiropractor, but that was recommended to me this time! I guess both can be good for SPD?
@JonesBaby0624 hope your issues get resolved soon. Glad the baby is fine. Sucks your fiancé had to leave but st least his mom took his place. We missed you around here... positive vibes going out to you!

@MrsFreeman2010, we were able to get a renovation loan with our new home purchase. I'm new to this but was told to find a general contractor we want to work with and have him put in bids for the work we want done. We won't start paying on the loan until all the work is done. I'm sure there's more to it but we just entered into escrow today.
@JonesBaby0624 yikes, hope you're doing much better now! And hopefully the endocrinologist can help get the thyroid stuff under control to help prevent more of that in the future. Thank goodness for having FI's family to help you out when he can't be there.

@Wildflowers and Ferns I am also in diclegis and it has been a life savor for me. Do you take it at night? I found if I take them at night I am fine but if I take them during the day I am exhausted and I don't feel like it worked that well. It also says take on an empty stomach, I haven't done that and it's been fine? The diclegis also includes the b6 so instead of two meds it's all in one.
@lulubemadness My app crashes when I try to look at the threads with a lot of pictures, too. I end up opening them up on my computer from time to time instead.
.so it wasn't only me...started to think it was my phone but now it might just be the app on mobiles itself.
I sadly still have morning sickness at 16wks ;( it sucks. I was waiting for it to go away not only that it's just nothing tastes good anymore except lemons and salt...I tried to eat my favorite strawberries ice cream cause I was thinking about it & it taste like chalk or medicin-y Like idk crushed up tums ughhh
I am SO excited to do some major Christmas decorating in the house.
On a side note does anyone else's bump app freeze close then start back up when your trying to look thru the ultrasound forum or the birth announcements forum??
Mine take forever to load whether it's on mobile or the computer. It doesn't freeze on me though, but I use the browser instead of the app.
Just chugged the drink for my glucose test today. Fingers crossed I avoid GD this time or that I at least pass this screen so I can inhale xmas cookies before the 28 wk screen.
Since the Intro thread has about 20,000 posts I thought I might do a quick intro on the Randoms post so I don't get completely lost in the sea of staleness. I've been lurking from April for a few weeks. My due date is April 29th... so being so far behind most of my board (I feel like most of the active posters are due in the beginning of April) I've been coming over here because I feel like I'm experiencing things around the same time as most of this board. So if there aren't objections I think I may hang around with you ladies!!
little background: this is baby #2 for fiance and I, we have a little girl that will turn 3 in just a few days. Just found out about 2 weeks ago we are Team Blue. We are basically on opposite ends of the spectrum for names so my current nickname for baby is Voldemort...
So much is going on in the last few days! I mentioned that we put in an offer on a house. Well it got accepted and things have escalated! I'm pretty overwhelmed by everything so I just made us a to do list so we can do one thing at a time. I'm excited that we will get to move sooner than anticipated so I will get some time to settle in and enjoy the house for awhile before LO arrives.
I also had routine checkup with my midwife today and all is good! Heartbeat of 155bpm got found quickly and my anatomy scan got scheduled for 12/22. I'm excited to see lo before xmas=)
Yay!! Congrats on the house offer!! So many exciting things happening for you! :-)
So our cat has been diagnosed with a Hyperthyroid. We had planned to do radiation treatment. One treatment and she'd be cured. But just as we were making plans for her aftercare we got a call from the treatment center. She also has kidney disease and they're afraid that the hyperthyroid is actually keeping her kidneys from failing. If they remove it she could possibly go into renal failure.
So now we have her on medication. Only the medication is making her sick. She started sleeping more and stopped playing. She went most of yesterday without eating or drinking. She's doing better now. We got her to eat breakfast and she's been drinking fluids. The whole thing has got H and me pretty down. She's still young in my opinion (9). I'm starting to worry that no matter what we do we're going to lose her sooner than we expected. She's our first baby .
Welcome @BeachMommy2B, I am sticking with this BMB even though I will most likely deliver in early to mid April.
@LilMissCrafty I'm so sorry about your cat. I hope the meds work soon.
So I went in for a root canal/crown and some filings today. The good news is my dentist said all my cavities can wait until after the baby is born since they are so minor. Bad news is my root canal was worse than expected and now I have to see a specialist next week.
I need to show off my willpower just a little bit. DH and I decided to be Team Green this go around and we weren't last time. We had the Panorama test done but told them when we ordered it we didn't want to know the sex. They called yesterday with the results (all low risk) and then said "and do you want to know the sex?" I wasn't expecting this, because I assumed since I told them we didn't want to know when we ordered the test they wouldn't test for sex (not sure if that's an option) or they would not offer to tell us. I immediately asked " the wait, you have it right there in front of you?" and then mustered all my willpower and said I didn't want to know. But knowing the woman on the other end of the phone had it right there in front of her killed me! And now I have to deal with the fact that it's in my file and every time I go in I'll have the option of asking them.

Stay strong, you can do it I'm high risk again with this pregnancy so I will have monthly ultrasounds starting next month. Last time around I had to remind them at each ultrasound that we did not want to know the sex.
@RainyDays86 You can do it! I'm afraid at our anatomy scan in a couple weeks they'll accidentally spill the beans. It's going to be so fun not knowing and going through the hard work of labor to hear "Its a ___!"
