I had to take a drug test for my new job within my company, and they just called to inform me that my urine contains alot of water......ummm no shit, as I told the lady taking my pee I am 6.5 months pregnant and I have to drink 10-12 cups of water daily per my Dr so my urine will be mostly water. Dah fukkkkk. I kindly explained this to my recruiter...so it better just be cut n dry....cuz sorry I can't cut my water intake for the day and get dehydrated to give you stronger piss people. At least the recruiter is a girl with kids, and was like no I totally understand we don't want you getting dehydrated....so I am hopeful I am all set....clearly I am not hopped up on drugs at nearing 7 months pregnant and working full time. The only drugs I am on are horse pill sized prenatal vitamins lol
On top of waking up all night from back aches, I've also been dealing with a sinus cold/possibly infection for the past few days which is making it hard to sleep :-p I would just like to breathe and not have my face feel like it's gonna explode off my skull!
@BlondePeanut That's really funny! And hopefully that's the end of it.
I cannot go to sleep laying on my left side. I start on my left side and end up just laying there for a long time trying to fall asleep but my shoulder/upper ribcage start aching really badly so I have to turn over. Then I usually fall asleep on my right side. It's really weird...
My brother lost his wallet last night and apparently it has "vanished" and cannot be found. He's 3 hours away at school and it has already been a pain in the ass replacing everything. Cancelling the credit and debit cards were easy. But now he has no money. And he lost his license and student ID. Student ID is used to buy meals, so that's a pain. And getting a new one requires him to show government ID (i.e. his license...which he lost). To get a new license, he needs a certain number of documents. But of course, when my mom and dad left, they lost his birth certificate and social security card. So ordering copies of those and then driving up there this weekend to give him money. And then driving back up next week to bring him home for thanksgiving because I'm neurotic and won't let him drive that far without a license. Sorry for the rant, but I'm angry at him for losing it and then double angry at my parents for being irresponsible and losing vital documents. UGH.
So I have been in pain on my right side (mostly) since August from what I thought was sciatica. Insurance pays for PT, so I went on Friday. Lady takes a look, feels up and down my spine, has me do some movements.
Nope, just a severely malcontent piriformis muscle, stop being such a baby, here are some stretches to do. Fortunately she also threw in a nice massage/stretching session for my back, otherwise I would have left feeling really stupid.
I do feel a LOT better now, though. So weird that I didn't have this with DD. Old age, I guess.
Condescending therapist aside (not the point of my BF because, hey, butt pain is gone), now the pain has migrated to the inside of my thighs. I have almost never been sore there but am now walking like the week after my soccer tryouts way back when I was 16. I wonder what the therapist stretched/realigned for those muscles to complain.
So, BF Monday: WTF, inner thighs? Why are you hurting meeeee????
I have one from our birth class last night... the class is great, but there is always "that person" in a group who everyone else kind of silently loathes. Well, there are only 3 couples but we still have one.
This mom wants to tell a story every time the teacher brings up a point. The teacher is good at getting us back on track, but she shouldn't have to do it so many times. If that was all, ok whatever. But last night she kept making these comments about "young moms" and then giving me the very obvious side eye. Are you kidding me? She is only 5 years older than me, and this is her first kid too. I have mentioned before that I do look young for my age, and she is clearly assuming I'm 20 or under, and that by default I'm going to suck at this.
The worst of the comments last night was, "These 20 year old girls have babies and just assume the baby is an accessory! Like their life won't change at all, and they'll just have a cute baby to carry around." Immediately cuts side eye at me. WTF.

I say cut the b*tch....
No, wait, that's not my personal life philosophy! That was just my Monday talking, sorry ;-p
@WinchesterGirl It drives me nuts when people assume and make those kind of comments. Yes, I'm young but that does not automatically put me into that category! Tell her to mind her own business!
@WinchesterGirl ugh that is obnoxious and rude of her! I'm sure there are some young mothers who treat their kid like an accessory but I've seen several older moms who do too. If it were me next time she does that I'd probably make a comment like "I feel sorry for older moms who won't be able to keep up with their baby as it grows" and then give her a real obvious side eye. (Note I don't actually believe that but sometimes I'm petty and if she's using false young mom stereotypes then I feel like throwing a false older mom stereotype back at her only seems fair).

I had a shitty dr appt this morning. The end result is everything is fine and my anxiety is at 100%.
My bp was 138/76. I started to swell at 28w last time and was dx with Pre-e at 30w, so I'm already nervous. Then, a very experienced nurse had a hard time finding the HB on the Doppler so she moved me to an u/s room to wait 20 min to see the PA. And that 20 min was an eternity. Then the PA wanted to chat before doing the u/s. Finally I interrupted her and asked if we could just do the u/s before we chat. The hb is fine, just the shitty anterior placenta jacking stuff up.
@WinchesterGirl Ooooh, I would have to say something, too. Maybe not about age, because then it just turns into a turf war. But maybe something about how mamas who constantly look at and judge people outside themselves and how you worry it's distracting them from what's really important, their own pregnancy and baby. And how you would haaaate to lose out on these precious moments by constantly comparing the experience of other people. Isn't it so sad when that happens?
You ladies are cracking me up! I'm glad to see it's not just a pet peeve of mine; DH was kind of oblivious to the repeated side eyes she was giving me. I feel like being a less than great mom is something that depends on YOU and your choices way more than your age. I'm obviously attending and participating in this class, and care about making wise choices for this baby - even if I was 20, it is none of her business.
Also, I mean, DH is very obviously late 20s/early 30s with a full on man beard. So I kind of wonder if she is also assuming he's a cradle robber?
@WinchesterGirl see i would go the opposite & say stupid stuff like i cant wait for the baby to arrive so i can dress it up so she can hear! Silly judgy people like that should seriously have a look closer to home cause more often than not thats where the problems are.
My Monday BF is this cold that won't go away. Called the nurse last Wednesday and she said Sudafed, water, and cough drops were fine. But my nose still keeps running and I feel worse. Ugh just go away already! And I wish I could just take DayQuil and Nyquill and be done with it.
@WinchesterGirl haha that's pretty much what people think of my H and I. He looks older and shaves his head plus he is 5 years older than me. But it's still no one else's business.
Target charged me twice for our travel system...so what should have been a $216 charge has turned into a $432 charge...ugh. Now I have to wait 24hrs to see if the problem has been resolved. Stupid Target.
@scifichick09 I got charged twice by them too! It was a card I don't use so it overdrafted me which is fun. It was pending for a week so I finally called and they said once the whole order arrives it should resolve itself. But why the issue in the first place ? I hope yours gets resolved easily.
@homemake that's pretty much exactly what happened to me, mine was also on a card I don't normally use and it was about to overdraft by $196, luckily I caught it in time and transferred some money from my savings account to cover it until the issue is resolved. I guess I'll just have to always remember that Target does that in the future.
My MBF is that I was supposed to get my rhogam shot today, but my OB's office don't communicate with each other very well. The nurse told me they were going to draw my blood and then I'd have to wait an hour to get the shot. The lab tech that drew my blood said 1-2 hours and I needed to "schedule" the shot with the float nurse. The float nurse said it was a half hour process and she couldn't squeeze me in today so I'd have to come back in 2 days. The OB office is an hour from my house.
Thanks @PerraSucia He's not out of state..we're both in Texas. I'm in San Antonio and he's in College Station at A&M. Our parents moved out of state 2 years ago (while my brother was still in high school), so H and I kind of became his parents so this is good practice for when one of my (bio) children loses their wallet one day.
Oh, and he keeps texting because he's "remembering" more things that he "thinks" was in his wallet -_- 18 year old boys. I can't.
@srscott3 excellent way to look at it!! I hope you and him are able to get everything sorted out easily. It's a hard lesson but hopefully he will learn from it!
I have a 32 year old husband who wouldn't even have a clue what to do in this situation... I do everything like that for him (banking/mortgage/renewals....)! so your brother is already ahead there!

This is my life every day. Granted, I look young because I am probably much too young to be procreating (I just needed my human accessory because my baby and I will be bffs and shit) But DH is just as baby faced, so when we walk around the mall, all the middle-aged ladies give us side eye. They probably think he and I will break up before we hit 10th grade because he doesn't want a preggers gf.
@livinglavidaginger you have a mall? I choose your rural living over mine. Next question...do you have a book store, coffee shop, or movie theatre? I don't! I guess that's my MBF. This town succksss.
@homemake In the next town over about 25 mins away is the bigger town with everything! It has the mall, bookstore, coffee shop, and movie theatre. My town does not. My town has a gas station and a burger king.
I have a bitch this week! Some not-good labwork was posted for my liver enzymes, and then .... crickets. Absolutely no information at all. So far, (from Dr Google) this is what I know: "If ALT and AST are found together in elevated amounts in the blood, liver damage is most likely present." Great. Google told me all sorts of other lovelies too. I'm terrified. Thanks, doctor who posts and dashes. Thanks so much.
@livinglavidaginger I wish my closest town was 25 min. I have a solid hour drive to all the good stuff including my doctor and anything fun for my kid to do.
My husband just got his December schedule and he has to work Christmas Eve AND Day. Im fucking furious.
That really is infuriating. As someone who works in the medical field, we have to work either during Christmas or new year's. Last year, I worked Xmas eve and day as well and it sucked. Thankfully I was working evenings and got to be home Christmas morning but I really hate that we gotta give up either holiday. Is your H working awkward shifts both days?

That sucks, I'm really sorry. It's really too bad we can't just take a break and let everyone be with their families on holidays.
We also need coverage over the holidays this year so I jumped in and volunteered for Black Friday since I don't brave the stores anyways. It kind of sucks I don't get a 4 day weekend but there will be like no one here so I can kind of just do what I want. Plus DH works at the same company so he managed to get Black Friday as his holiday coverage day too!

I'm going to put this here because technically it happened yesterday. So last night was our first childbirth class and I really liked it. We covered signs of labor and the stages of labor and it was informative. Then last night I kept waking up from dreams of my water breaking to early, being stuck in the hospital, and her being born premature. Wtf stupid brain?!? I didn't get a lot of sleep last night...
@Spicyweiner Oh man that sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. I remember working my first Christmas day shift in high school(I worked for a German restaurant that was open that day) it was god fucking awful to miss Christmas dinner with my family. I really hope your DH doesn't work too early in the morning on Christmas so you can still enjoy that together at least.
