@sourlemon I can tell when he gets the hiccups, you feel the hiccups where the baby's head is. So it's either hiccups on my cervix or hiccups in my ribs, sometimes on my side when he goes transverse. He usually gets hiccups a couple of times a day.
So my Drs insist baby is breech but I always feel hiccups down low. I don't really get it.
Probably a stupid question but do the hiccups just feel like someone's tapping the inside of your belly area? Cause if so, i have felt that
Also adding to my normal symptoms of being tired, crabby, and ever present heartburn: i had my very first sniss at 33 wks. It was a good run without one!
Does anyone else's LO get the hiccups a TON? This is my 3rd so I definitely know what hiccups feel like. Parker gets them a minimum of twice a day. sometimes three times a day!!! That seems like a lot of hiccups.
Yup, at least 3 times a day. And yes, the repeated tapping in one area are hiccups. @penelope4612 If you feel the hiccups down low, then I am sure you are right. Unless your docs used an ultrasound.
Yup, mine get them usually about twice a day - once in the morning and once in the evening. Sometimes three time. And speaking of which, I just felt them start up.
Week 32- 33 LO had hiccups a minimum of 3 times/day. Now it is slowing down.
A few days ago I felt baby turn to head down. Now I get sharp pain in my pelvis/groin/thigh from the pressure of the head being so low. MW confirmed he was head down manually right when I got these symptoms.
Otherwise I have no idea his position except that he is on the right side.
Once he flipped I know longer had terrible rib pain.
My symptoms at 34 week day 1 is hardening baby bump, sharp groin pain from baby being head down, back pain when lying down, SI tightness and pain, trouble turning in bed, heart burn and lots of anticipation for delivery. It is an exciting time everyone!! We are getting close!

I'm wondering if my little one is head down then too, because the last couple days the groin pain has been intense! Like almost whenever I walk around for long at all. I have an ultrasound next week so will be interesting to confirm.
He was breech at my anatomy scan, but has since flipped... and I think has stayed that way. I can feel hiccups low, and he was very active with them this afternoon for about 10 minutes straight. And something of him his pushing against my ribs, depending on what position I am sitting in. Usually on our couch, I have the chair reclines and that is when I feel that. And as I am typing, he's doing something close to my ribs.
I wear my Maternity belt ALL the time at night, at home. Depending on what I am wearing, I could wear it underneath, but I am fine just wearing it at home. I got the Belly Bandit one, as I had already bought their Thigh Disguiser, which is great to wear under dresses/skirts. I also plan to get some tummy thing they have for post partum.
I am swollen ALL over. My stand-in wedding ring is a size 6 and is usually too big for me anyway. It's super tight and I can barely wear it. I wore a size 7 fashion ring yesterday an that fit about how my wedding ring normally fits, when not swollen. So yay! My swollen feet/ankles have not changed and I am pretty sure are here to stay. I have iced them, Epsom salt soaked them, upped water intake, been more mindful of sodium intake, etc. I hope our mild Fall weather continues through November so I can wear flats for the remainder of this pregnancy. But, I think the swollen-ness is related to my quick weight gain in the last month... almost 20lbs!

I don't mean to tell anyone what they are or aren't feeling but baby B is transverse - laying across my belly feet towards one hip and head towards the other and I'm getting a ton of rib jabs. The movement could be arms or legs. I just don't want anyone to be so sure of the positions that they're crushed when baby isn't head down.
Ugh y'all. My left foot and leg is now so swollen that my toes don't touch the ground when I walk barefoot, and there are pitting marks in my legs from if I cross them or push my fingers down on them.
Ugh is right. My equilibrium/balance has gone to shit in the past few days. Walking into a store this afternoon, I lost my footing in the parking lot and fell. Luckily my hands were empty and I fell straight forward, landing on my hands and knees (belly was no where near the ground).
It was enough to scare the shit out of me and them made me mad when noticed I skinned both my knees and tore one knee out of my leggings. Pretty much the highlight of my week.
I can definitely tell why everyone suggests walking to encourage labor or to speed up labor. Walking long distances lately definitely gets the feelings in my pelvic area moving. We went to a hockey game on Friday night, the half mile walk each way between the parking garage and the arena was fine, but the stairs, those were the killer! It was around 65 stairs just to get from the street up to the arena, then 50 stairs to our seats. Add in going to the bathroom so many times - by the end of the night I was ready for bed!
Anyone else's eyes straining a whole lot more? I wear glasses for normal every day computer work, but it's the rest of the time that I am not wearing them that I feel more strain on my eyes. I was told by an old co-worker to not get my eyes checked until around 6 months post-partum because the hormones can mess with your eye sight and things should regulate back to normal after that. I'm really not ready to be an all the time glasses wearer!
@AbriannaO I worked at an eye doctor's office for several years -- eyesight change during pregnancy is a pretty common thing. Some women have a special pair of glasses for when they're pregnant! I'd say suck it up (in the nicest way possible, haha) and get them checked out. From what I understand, they should go back to normal after you give birth. Are contacts an option for you? You could always go that route.

I got lucky and my eyesight hasn't changed. I had to go to the optometrist last week to get a new prescription for contacts since I ran out, and my eyes have remained the same. That's really nothing to brag about, though, because I'm -7 in one eye and -6.50 in the other--can't get much worse lol.
@PensiveCrayon I don't think that my eye sight is bad enough to get temporary glasses for while pregnant. Pre-pregnancy I was just on the cusp of needing some night-time driving glasses, but the optometrist wasn't too concerned or pushy about NEEDING them yet. I figured I would wait until after the baby is born before making an appointment to get everything checked out (moved to a new state since my last exam, so need a new Dr anyways). I know I am quickly heading down the route to needing glasses full time, and once the Dr tells me it's time, I won't fight it. I would have to give contacts a try. I did them years back when I hated the idea of glasses, but that is when I had much better eye sight and just needed help focusing on the computer. My eyes have degraded a lot in the last three years, so I know it's coming! How soon after the evacuation should the vision be returning to normal?
@PensiveCrayon Hopefully it's cool if i pick the experts brain here. My regular yearly eye exam should be in January. But I was thinking of going in November before little man is born so it doesn't get forgotten in the craziness of those early months. Now I'm thinking bad idea if my eyes might not be the same as after birth?
@dmontgo I've seen -18 and I think -21 before (same woman). That poor woman broke her glasses and we were trying our hardest to find a lab that would be able to make a replacement for her while she got by with tape. I can't imagine having vision that bad!
@tinattt23 and @AbriannaO Oops, I've set myself up as an expert. Haha! I honestly don't know how long it takes for vision to return to normal after birth. I'd say a couple months or so, while hormones level off? Tina, I'd say it can't hurt to visit early. It's pretty standard to offer free prescription tweaks for a month or so after getting glasses if needed -- you can talk to your doctor or optician to find out the policies at your particular office.
But anyway, I can talk to you guys allll day about eye health and contact lens care. Go for your yearly exams, because it's not just about vision, and don't be dumb with your contacts. And if they offer you the OCT test, get it! It's good stuff -- costs extra, but definitely not a scam. Depending on the doctor and your eyes, you can do it instead of dilation.

In regards to eye exams, I ran out of contacts a month ago and scheduled an exam. My optometrist would not even give me an exam because I'm pregnant. She gave me a couple of samples of contacts in my previous prescription and said to come back 6 weeks postpartum.
My vision has been more blurry and I went in and my prescription is unchanged. He said eye changes associated with pregnancy and dry eye (had to stop restasis because of pregnancy).
@Mamax2 your BP okay? @AbriannaO yes, I get nearly rhythmic BH if I do too much walking/stair climbing these days. And yes, I'm getting more blind by the minute. I'm ignoring it for these last few weeks and if I don't regain full vision by a few months PP I'll get checked again.
@tinattt23 and @dmontgo Oh bad eyesight club - me too! -7 and -8.5! Hurray! I read an article somewhere about a woman who had an astigmatism that magically corrected itself while she was pregnant - wish that was me!
@DiFazette doc said BP wasn't too horrible for normal people, but was too high for me. Before the swelling and headaches, BP was running 100s/60s or 100s/70s. When the swelling and headaches started, my bp was 140s/80s or 90s. Doc checked for protein in urine, and all was clear. Swelling and BP has now both gone back done.
@Mamax2 glad to hear it. Edema with pitting always makes me nervous, even if it's on behalf of others. Take care of yourself, that's quite a jump. Even though those pressures aren't super dramatic, they are a huge change for your body and your baby.
I've been having RLP combined with lightning crotch. DH's response was - "if it's any consolation, I really chafed myself during my run today." Not really the same, but thanks?
@penelope4612: I actually kept using Restasis to treat my dry eyes because my eye doctor didn't think it would be an issue. But, the other thing I do to help is I put a warm compress over my eyes for 10 minutes before I go to sleep. This helps to open up your oil glands and can help with dry eyes too.
I can tell positions by finding what is either a head or a bootie and trying to move it back and forth... a head will easily wiggle or flex... a bum will make the whole body move in a sway. Currently this little one feels like it is doing yoga on my insides... and it's head movements (down low) are seriously annoying. Still struggling with back pain... intermittent heart burn, a faulty bladder, and general "done-ness". That can be a symptom, right?
@AbriannaO my eyes are struggling, they're way worse that's normal. I'm squinting to see the football numbers on our tv, and can't tel what time our digital clocks say unless I'm within 6 feet. My eyes aren't that bad at all, I only use my glasses for distance when I'm driving or out of the house. But lately I should be wearing them all the time. It's good to hear that they should go back after baby gets evicted!
Anybody else on the dizziness boat? I constantly feel like I've had a few drinks.
@yellingbanana I've had a couple dizzy spells, actually! I didn't know it was a thing, so it was actually sort of scary when it happened. I just tried to lay down and eat food. I mean, is it a thing?

Newest pleasant symptom: Ashton's head is so far into my pelvis that it feels like he is going to slide out and take my guts with him. His favorite past times include headbutting my cervix and going on long, leisurely, upside-down strolls on my lungs.

Can I just say that I hate my BP issues right now? Last week my numbers were high (for me). Fast forward to yesterday, and they dropped. So now my numbers are fluctuating between 80's and 90's over 40's, 50's and 60's to 130's and 140's over 90's. My peri didn't seem too alarmed today, but did tell me to monitor my numbers about 6-8 times a day, and make a note of any symptoms I have when my numbers drop or raise.
@Austenista I am feeling the opposite - I'm very fearful of him coming early. I love him so much already, but am totally content with getting a few more weeks of selfish me time
