I went ahead & tested this morning with a FRER, 5dp5dt and it was definitely negative. Not giving up hope at all, will try again tomorrow, as it is still early. I don't think a negative POAS test should be a trigger for anyone (we've all seen plenty to get to this point), but I'm going to put my little pic I made in a spoiler box, regardless.
@Monica54321 I POAS at 5dp5dt and it was negative. I also don't know why I did that at 5dp since I knew it would most likely be negative. I POAS at 7dp5dt and it was positive. There is still time!
@taradavis0515 hi and best of luck this cycle! I have seen a bit of a mix regarding those who POAS before beta vs those who don't (perhaps a slight leaning towards waiting for beta without POAS). I personally POAS beforehand, but understand that brings with it some risks.
1. You could get a false negative if you test too early or the test isn't sensitive enough to pick up on low numbers 2. Even a positive HPT could yield a negative or less than ideal beta (chemical pregnancy)
It's really a personal decision based on what will make you most relaxed.
@taradavis0515 - I agree with @Elyse1384. For me, testing early doesn't add (or necessarily remove) any stress for me, so I've just gone with that feels right at the moment. I did, however, try to prevent myself from POAS until there was at least some hope it could potentially be positive from an actual pregnancy (i.e. didn't test out the trigger), because I knew once I opened the POAS "seal" I wouldn't be able to stop, lol. Just like peeing when drunk... once you break the seal...

@Monica54321and@Elyse1384 Thank you! At my beta test I will be 12dp3dt, so I will probably be patient and wait until then, if I REALLy cannot wait I will not test until the day before. I am going to work from home that day just in case it is bad news..
@MelD17011 My beta is towmorrow and can't wait to find out if I'm joining the June BMB or the Nov FET group! Either way it's out of my control at this point so I'm just going to shove some ice cream into my face tonight and get to bed early.
I've gone BSC and find myself alternating between checking my cell for missed calls (despite it being practically glued to my hand all morning) and refreshing the online patient portal (which sometimes posts lab results before the nurse can make the call). I almost took a HPT this AM to brace myself for a BFN in case Monday was a fluke or I was having another CP. Now I just wait... and wait... and refresh some more.
@Elyse1384 Thinking of you.. keep refreshing - I promise no one here will think less of you

@MelD17011 any word on your second beta? @taradavis0515 I have to say that I am guilty of testing on Monday. I like to test a couple of days before to brace myself for a potential BFN, but I don't ordinarily test too close to beta.

Guysssss... it was a legit + HPT on Monday. My beta came back today at 233.9! I go in Sunday for a second beta to make sure it doubles, but as of now it is official! Thanks for all the support and well wishes ladies. DH and I are over the moon excited.
Hi All, I just signed up and my IUI was this last Tuesday 04OCT. I will be POAS on the 18th.
I feel more positive about this IUI than my last. I had two good follicles at 21 and 22 mm instead of 1 at 18mm. My husband and I had lots of good BD around the time, and he had a great sperm count/motility for the IUI itself. I'm feeling a lot better physically than last month too so maybe this one will be it. Trying to stay positive without getting my hopes up too much.
@omarismyhomeboy Just wanted to let you know I am rooting for you! The IVF/FET TWW is sooooo much harder than the IUI TWW (even though it's shorter). We have so much riding on it! I think what helped me the most while I was waiting was (1) reminding myself that the odds are in my favor, and (2) making a plan with DH for a negative result. We decided early on that I wouldn't POAS before beta, but then the thought of hearing a negative phone call really freaked me out. DH offered to take the call for me so that I could hear the result from him, which REALLY relaxed me for some reason. We also planned early on to have our favorite meal planned for dinner on beta day, either to function as comfort food or celebratory. For me, having these plans and rituals in place helped get me through. You got this!!!
@Monica54321 and @ReesaAnne16 I'm here lurking for you ladies too!!! You are in my thoughts and I have everything crossed for you both!!!
Good luck to everyone testing in October!!!
