My son was very sleepy afterwards and slept for a long time. He barely ate anything the rest of the day. A few hours after his shots he was sooooooo fussy and was constantly crying even if I was holding him. We have him Tylenol and he eventually went back to sleep.
Ok, reading this thread makes me feel a bit better. DD has consistently taken 4oz per feeding since we had to give up breastfeeding at 8 weeks. Now at 10 weeks all the sudden she wants 5-6oz per feeding, sometimes every 2 hours! I kept track of all her feeds yesterday to get a full picture of her intake and she drank 32.5 oz total, and today we're at 29 and she'll need another bottle before bed.
All my research has me confused because some sites say they only need 2.5oz per pound per day, which for her is 25oz, then some say never more than 32oz in a day, ever. Then some say let them eat whatever they want!! Argh, I'm calling the ped tomorrow. It's like she went from a peanut who was struggling to gain weight to a insatiable chunker overnight! Anyone else experience this?
doc says she's doing great and still at or above the 85 percentile. Got her vaccines too and took them like a trooper. Cried for a second and has been very sleepy but woke up at normal time to eat and go back to sleep.
We went to the doc yesterday for reflux meds. She's 10.10 lbs, putting her in the 8th percentile. She's 11 weeks. She was 8.9 at birth and at her lowest in the hospital she was 7.1.
Birth weight was 7lbs 15oz, today she weighed 10lbs 5oz at dr's appt. She measured 21.25in at birth because she had a cone head from being stuck so long but shrunk down to 20in by her first dr's appt and now is 21.5inches! These babies are growing so fast!
At her two month appointment she was 24 1/2 inches long! But she didn't gain any weight because she had a cold this past week and wasn't eating a lot. She's better now and drinking more, so hopefully no more weight issues
Liesl had her 4 month appointment Thursday, and she's 13lb10oz, 24.75" long. Her weight/length percentages are in the 30's, but her head is around the 80th!!
Audri had her 4 month checkup last Thursday. She's 13 lbs 10 oz, 25.2 inches long and head circumference was 16. Birth weight was 7lb 6 oz and 20.5" long. She's long and learn like her daddy!
My son has his 4 month appt on Oct. 5. Birth weight 8.4lbs, now 13.5lbs and 25.5 inches. Long and VERY lean like his dad. However, doctor's a bit concerned about his weight. He's eating well.
Tristan had his 4 month appt last week Thursday. He weighed in at 13 lbs 4 oz, 24.25 inches long. He came in at the 9th percentile for height and weight, but only 2nd for his head. Since he started out at 4 lbs 10 oz he seems to be catching up ok. He is at least making it onto the normal growth charts. If we adjust for his early arrival he makes it up into the 20's and 30's. Dr. didn't seem too concerned so we will keep up with what we have been doing.

That's great! My 3 pounders didn't make onto the growth chart til 15 months.
Lillyana had her 4 month check up on Wednesday. Birth: 7 lb, 9 oz, 20 inches long, 14" head 4 month: 14 lb, 3.7 oz, 24.13 inches long, 16. 38" head

@Tawny87 my LO is a little peanut too. I don't have her measurements yet but i think she may be just over 12lbs. She's going through the 4 month sleep regression and I'm hoping her more frequent feedings will help her gain weight!

stuck in box:
I hope that works for her! My dr is hopeful he is just smaller. I was never above 10% weight wise growing up and my girls are finally at 5% weight wise now that they are 3 yrs. I was totally stunned that he didn't gain more though!
She was not overly concerned about his weight yet but we are going to keep a close eye on it.
Yeah my son is in the 15%, but they're concerned about his weight because he's very tall and it's not proportionate to his weight. He's over 26 inches now. They've fortified his formula to 24kcal per oz rather than the standard 20 oz and hopes he will gain weight.

I hope that works for him! We fortified my twins milk when they were born (3 lbs) and they had quadrupled their birth weight at a yr.
Just had her 4 month check up. 13lbs 12oz (40%) and 25.5 inches (89%)
she was born at almost 9 lbs, and she's not gaining as fast as my other two, so I always worry. But she seems to be on a curve, just kind of an adorable string bean
Just had our 4 month check up. birth - 9lbs 20.5 inches 2months - 12lbs 7.8oz 23 3/4 inches 4months - 15lbs 1oz 25.2 inches still significantly above average in both and looks great as far as milestones go. So happy she's such a good girl when it comes to shots. Just a yell when it happens and then mellow and snuggly the rest of the day.
