Re: Randoms 10/3

  • @jenny0228 I have had my hair colored this whole pregnancy, my hair stylist has a dye that only sits for 15 minutes and is known for being safe.

  • @Gators&BoSox I'm the same, but opposite. Have a DD, this one is a DS and I'm terrified! My DH and I for some reason just thought we would have all girls, but as I've had some time to digest it, I'm so excited that I get to experience having a daughter and a son

  • thanks @Spartanrd4 @peony2418 @disneybaby84 - I found an Aveda salon that uses non-toxic dyes so I am going to do that! I made an appointment for next week, so excited!
  • @chrlyr the toilet paper at my work has the red flecks too!!
  • @chrly ??? Must be recycled paper they used to make the TP!
  • @chrly ??? Must be recycled paper they used to make the TP!
NOTHING sounds worse than recycled TP.
It's basically the cheapest and crapiest 2-ply toilet paper in the world. It contains "alternative fibers", whatever that means.

So, I discovered after a momentary freak out that the toilet paper we use in our office bathrooms has red flecks in it. I mean, WTF. Why?

I need to add "TP Inspector" to my business card.
YES!!! I'M NOT ALONE!! Damn recycling.

  • I just have to say that some of the signature pictures with animals in costume have me cracking up! The little Chewbacca dog in @RunBooRun's signature is too cute but looks so miserable!

Not having leg cramps, but the getting up to pee and being restless thing is so true. DH keeps joking that he's going to sleep in the other room and I'm like "good, get out of my bed".
I'm so restless at night too. I can't stay in one position for very long and sometimes get cramps in my legs or pain in my tailbone area. I have been sleeping with two or three extra pillows around me to try and keep comfortable and it drives DH nuts because it takes up so much space in the bed.

    Baby Boy: coming March 2017

  • So I am having the opposite issue as @Gators&BoSox . My gut is telling me it's a boy (we find out tomorrow, if the anatomy scan goes well) and it's terrifying. I have always only been able to picture myself as a girl-mom; not because I'm girly but because I am introverted and was a shy, quiet kid who loved to read, write, paint, cuddle, cook, etc. I feel like I would have no idea what to do with or how to connect with a rambunctious boy. And all my co-workers always complain about how their toddler sons won't stop playing with their penises! Arg!

So pretty please leave all your happy thoughts about sons in this thread! What is great about being a boy-mom? Help me prepare, just in case. I'm trying to avoid gender disappointment and focus on praying for a healthy baby, but the anxiety is still there.
    Thank you...

I'm not sure how much of my bump is baby and how much is due to the fact that I can't be bothered to suck in my gut anymore.
Yea me too.  I can't distinguish what's fluff and what's baby.  I'm pretty sure most of mine is still fluff.  Hoping to have a bump by Halloween!  By then I'll be 20 weeks.

@EnglishTeacherMama For what it's worth, I have both and my son has always been just as sweet as his sister, if not moreso. My daughter will happily give affection when I ask for it, but my son actively seeks it out. He was definitely more cuddly between one and two years than my daughter was at the same age.

He does have a rambunctious streak, but my daughter has an attitude of her own, so they are even on that front. It might just be an age thing, but he's the more reliably agreeable one right now (and when it comes to the "terrible twos," he has proven to be calmer than his sister was, less prone to tantrums for any reason other than being tired). He also seems to be really intuitive. The kid strung together a ten-word sentence when he was barely two! I can't say enough good things about having a little guy.

And FWIW, my daughter is actually the one who is more "aware" of her genitals. My son pretty much ignores his penis!

  • @kjd291 thank you for that! I have been thinking the same as @EnglishTeacherMama but you are right.... I hate pink lol. I think girl clothes are adorable (hello bows and tutus) but yes some of the more modern style boy clothes are dapper and so cute too. Hopefully my Sneak Peek comes back soon (sent it back Monday but the tracking hasn't updated so I hope it makes it back to the lab without any issues!!) and then our anatomy scan is end of the month. So we shall see!!

  • @librarymom917 I'm so with you on being over this semester already. I wish I could fast forward and just get through to December, I feel like I have mountains of work in between now and then between school & working 60+ hours/week. Will you be graduating after this semester?

@kiyamurph your son is absolutely adorable!!!

@mecoats DH asked me what I wanted for my birthday (which is in 2 weeks) and I told him that I wanted a prenatal massage. I'm really excited about it- my friend had one when she was pregnant and said it was wonderful.
So I had my massage last night, and it was amazing!  The massage therapist was very helpful...giving me lots of tips on what I can do while at work (I sit all day) for stretches, and keeping the muscles/tendons in good condition.  She worked on my neck and shoulders first, which was amazing.  Then I went on one side (with plenty of support), and she worked on my back.  I keep all my tension in my back, so that was fantastic.  I set up another massage for next month.  I have a feeling I'll be there monthly going forward.  Hopefully your DH gets you the massage :)
Thats good to know @mecoats that she gave you tips on stretches and things because I am definitely having some back pain from time to time already and I can only imagine what it will be like in 3rd tri. I am looking forward to going!! He better give it to me if he knows whats good for him ;)
  • @Englishteachermama congratulations on your baby boy!

@C25 Glad the ultrasound came out good! Keep us posted on your blood test results!

@chrlyrif I had to guess I would say my gut is currently 35% baby and 65% personal fat :#
