September FET Buddies!

Re: September FET Buddies!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I thought I had prepared myself for not great news, but the fact that it should be almost 500 and it's basically an increase of 50 - I just can't comprehend it right now and am so mad and frustrated at my body for not doing what it's supposed to be. I wonder if the spotting I was having had anything to do with it, and now I keep thinking well I haven't had any symptoms yet today, so does that mean something?

I have faith that yours is going to be great news!

  • Ladies I'm so sorry. @thucks try to focus on your house and get snuggled in and then worry about the next FET. That's what we did last year. Got the new house, moved in, did a lot of renovations and then started the IVF process. Sending you hugs! Xoxo

@mtpbadger don't give up just yet! Xoxo

Married my best friend in 2013 (I was 33), After 1.5yrs of TTC got my first BFP naturally on 2/7/15 but ended in DNC on 4/14/15, not viable. In 2015 I was 35...Found out I had only one working ovary, which was DOR, with scar tissue and I ovulated at 7 days, with a small cervix opening and a tilted uterus... Needing an RE was a must.....IUI#1 Sept 2015,,, BFN IUI#2 Oct 2015,,,BFN IUI#3 Dec 2015,,BFN IVF#1 2/1/16- BFN IVF# on 3/29/16 retrieval only - 1 healthy chromosome tested embryo. Message me if you ever have any questions or just need someone to talk to. DON'T GIVE UP!

  • @mtpbadger I don't have symptoms today either. And my frequent urination has also subsided. Of course I'm assuming that means bad news. :(

  • @lsatturo126 I haven't given up hope quite yet but am being cautious. I'm hoping I'm just a slow responder and that one person that's outside the typical norms, which I feel like I have been on how I respond to a lot of meds. I know it was nothing that I did/didn't do since the little bean isn't dependent on me for anything yet, but I can't help have some of those thoughts go through my head.
  • @mtpbadger I am so so sorry you got this news today.  I can't imagine feeling those fluctuations of emotions.  Stay strong and like you said keep that hope up!!  I pray for better news on Beta 3!

Still waiting for the nurse to call back to ask some questions and am trying to relax (I put an "in training" sign on my door so no one will bother me) and just wait until Friday. Question are any of you on Metformin for your PCOS while doing an FET? I used to be on it years ago I'm wondering if I should ask to be put back on it to kinda straighten my ovaries out a little but would it even matter?

  • @thucks and @mtpbadger I'm so sorry you didn't get good news today.

@wifeinraleigh28 congrats on the 2nd beta!!!  Great results.

AFM - I'm irritated with myself for not taking it easier after my transfer the past couple of days.  I over did it and now I'm paying for it.  My back is hurting and I'm cramping.  I need to lay low the rest of the week and get more liquids.  At least all the activity is making wait until I POAS Monday go faster.
  • @thucks oh I'm so sorry, sometimes life just seems so unfair. Glad you have some super exciting things on the horizon and you will start again refreshed next year! Big hugs

@mtpbadger I was so shocked to read your message, I hope you are doing okay. hope that your levels were just having a chilled few days and now they kick into action. Fx and everything else for you

    @wifeinraleigh28 awesome, awesome, awesome!

As for me, I'm considering going to do my bloods again even thought they said it wasn't necessary. I think at this point I would to anything for some piece of mind!
  • I'm hanging in there but had a total pity party/melt down on my drive home from work. I'm sure ppl in the cars next to me thought I was nuts. And of course that's right when my nurse calls me back. She said anything is possible and we will know more after Friday but to start preparing myself for this not to be successful. I just hate the word biochemical pregnancy, it makes it seem almost not real and so clinical. I didn't ask too many questions since I was driving in traffic and trying not to completely break down.

Depending on on what happens Friday I'll schedule a meeting with my dr to discuss what she thinks is going on. If it's not successful, this will be my third CP. I always thought my lining was the main issue but maybe it's an egg quality issue too?

i just really thought this was going to be it. What's that saying? You make life plans and life laughs? That's kind of how I feel right now. It's like we can never get too excited or look too far into the future, even with good news. Infertility just plain sucks. I'll prob have a pity party tonight and then tomorrow is a new day and I'll be cautiously hopeful for Friday.

@mtpbadger I agree, IF just plain sucks.

I haven't worked out since my transfer day and went to the gym today. I took it pretty easy and didn't lift any weights. When I got home and used the restroom, I noticed I am spotting. It's not bright red and was not enough to drip. But it is there and it has me worried. I know sometimes it's normal, but I'm still sad about it. I'm not taking any suppositories. :-/
Edit: I left a message for my RE to let him know.

  • Just had a nice chat with my RE over the phone.  She wants to move ahead on my next cycle the end of Oct to avoid the clinic closing around Thanksgiving for cleaning. She thinks it is an egg quality issue, so we will be changing up the protocol to hopefully get less, better quality eggs since I ended up with OHSS last time and only 2 embryos. We will likely add in menopur and also wants me to start taking metaformin and inositol to help with the quality. We will add in a scratch test sometime this cycle as well.  All that plus I'm still doing acupuncture once a week, so hopefully it will make a difference.

One other thing - when starting my IVF journey, I learned that my chicken pox vaccine had worn off and I need to get another. But I'll have to wait one month before TTC so I choose to take the risk and not get it to move forward with things. I guess I should go ahead and get it, but I'm afraid I'll be one of those weirdo's who get the chicken pox from it!!
  • Oh my @mtpbadger. That is above and beyond husband duties! You def have a keeper! Word on the inability to plan or look forward!  Its so hard.

Sorry to to read your beta went down @thucks thinking of you.  Just stinks.

Great second beta @wifeinraleigh28. Keep it going!

@Tusername. Hope the spotting is no worries! I would have called the dr too.

    FET 2: 11/15/16 transferred 1 CP again!

  • My doctor called back and said the spotting is a bit concerning but he's thinking it's most likely implantation at this point. He said he thinks the embryo has already implanted and is continuing to grow causing some spotting and said he thinks it unlikely that it implanted and is already failing. Whew. His phone call made me feel much better. Usually I'm so 'go with the flow' but not with FET results and growing lo's.

@mtpbadger That is too funny that DH let you poke him! He's probably thinking "Dang my wife is strong! "

    So much going on today.

@thucks - I'm so sorry, I was hoping for you :(. Glad to hear you're trying again though.

@mtpbadger - I just can't comprehend or accept your results today. Your beta was so amazing! How can this be?? If my crappy beta can double, then your magnificent one can too. I'm just going to keep telling myself that until Friday. Hang in there. Give hubby a shot in his other cheek tomorrow ;)

@wifeinraleigh28 - huzzah, some good news today!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 they just said that they don't need to do another and I didn't really ask questions because I was so happy at the time, but I'm sure it won't be a problem to do a second beta. I've started feeling really nauseated which I'm taking some comfort in! I gagged twice today, so weird!
  • Well ladies, I still have some hope but it's not looking too great. Woke up this morning to some heavier spotting when I got up this morning. I'll call my nurse as soon as the clinic opens. I'll have to ask if they ever checked my progesterone levels, think it could have been low? I'm on PIO but my body doesn't always react to meds normally (didn't react to all to estrogen injections)

Even if this cycle doesn't end up working, hopefully it will give my doctor a better picture of how my body works and possibly some things to change for next cycle. Ive started a list of questions and have started looking forward. Anything is still possible so maybe I will be surprised Friday but I've prepared myself and for the most part have accepted that this round won't be the one. I'm still perplexed as to how I could have such a great first beta and two days later almost no increase.

  • Uggh. It is amazing how we bounce back to try again.  We had to share what was going on with us with my father in law and his gf last weekend.  His gf asked how I was holding up and I said pretty well, disappointed, but good.  I think I cried for two days and I only cry a little now!   She made a face and said that doesn't sound too good!  my husband jumped in and said she bounces back with hope quickly whenever she's sad.

when I read you note @mtpbadger above the first thing I thought was how you bounce back with hope too! I am sorry this might not be your cycle. But I do hope along with you that they learn from it for the next one.  Hugs to you.

  • I wish I could be more like @bells52000 and @mtpbadger. Even with my IUIs which I never expected to work, it took me longer to get my hope back after getting bad news. :disappointed:

  • For me, hope is the only thing that will keep me looking forward. I know I can get stuck in a funk so I have to almost force myself to accept whatever it is and start looking forward for what's next. Sometimes it causes me to move forward before I'm 100% ready, but I need to keep moving. I know that one day, one way or another, I will be a mom. I usually give myself a time limit of a pity party. Like yesterday, I gave myself the entire day but today is a new day. If I start feeling sad today, I'll give myself a little bit of time for those feelings but that's it.

Just talked to my nurse about the increased spotting and she said at this point, it could still go either way. It can just happen in early pregnancy or it could be a CP and my body is already trying to do what it should naturally. Found a lab inbetween the airport and my parents house so that will be easy. I'll just tell my parents that the car rental place took a long time or we stopped for breakfast. Hopefully the lab sends my RE the results before the end of the day!

I'm not feeling that optimistic though since my symptoms have started to diminish, no more queasiness. Although I'm sure pregnancy symptoms can come and go as well. I just hope, whatever the results are tomorrow, I'm not stuck in limbo. I'd rather have it increase as it should be or start going down so I can move on.

  • @c-k - for my first they didn't do a second beta either. I hope those ms symptoms come on strong and are comforting! Lol.

@wifeinraleigh28 - thanks for the tracker update. Are you sure you weren't an accountant in a past life??
