Hey gals.  I took a mental break from boards and social media and pretty much life over the last few days.  This FET failure has been rough.  I would like to congratulate the BFP's from yesterday!!  I am truly happy for you all and any IF BFP gives the rest of us hope that we will all get there one day!!

I finally spoke to my RE yesterday and he said he was very surprised I was not pregnant.  PGS tested 5AA with a picture perfect lining.  We are moving forward with the biopsy of the uterine lining.  The test we are doing is the test that someone had brought up on this board in the last month of so (can't remember what discussion it was on- maybe the August/September discussion?)... It is called ERA (endometrial receptivity test).  It will tell me if we have been doing the transfer at the most optimal time, or if I need to do more or less days of PIO prior to the transfer.  If we find out we have been doing the transfers at the correct time already, we will look at maybe adding in Lovenox on my next cycle and also transferring two embryos.  If the test shows we have NOT been doing the transfers at the optimal time then we will leave everything the same except for the transfer timing.

Here's the link to the test in case anyone is interested- https://www.igenomix.com/tests/endometrial-receptivity-test-era/

My RE says this science is new and very advanced. He has been using it with other patients who are in a similar situation to mine and has seen great outcomes.
    Me: 35  DH: 36
Me: 1, possibly 2, blocked tubes
    DH: severe MFI
    Married and TTC since 2/15
Started stims 7/21/16, ER  8/2 --> 17 eggs, 5 blasts after PGS testing.
    Fresh transfer 8/8/16: Chemical Pregnancy
    FET #1 9/13: PGS tested 5AA, BFN
    Endometrial biopsy 10/18/16: normal result
    ERA test 10/18/16: "receptive" result
FET #2  1/3/17: natural cycle, BFP!!! TWINS!!  EDD: 9/21 (8/31 with twin adjustment)

  • @APM_SLP not sure if it will help at all, but my RE added Lovenox into my protocol for my second FET after my first failed as she thought it couldn't hurt to add that in as well as Prednisone (both started 5 days prior to transfer, so same time as PIO) in case there was any sort of inflammation of the uterus that was impeding implantation. Not sure what exactly worked this time around, but my beta ended up being positive, even with a very (very) thin lining of 4.5 5 days before transfer. She said adding both of those wouldn't hurt anything and I had minimal side effects from both (some more bruising from the injection sites of the lovenox than usual).

Keep us updated on the ERA test results! It sounds like your RE has a great game plan for moving forward and a good plan B as well depending on the results!

*****Trigger Warning, Loss and Pregnancy Mentioned*****

Married my best friend in 2013 (I was 33), After 1.5yrs of TTC got my first BFP naturally on 2/7/15 but ended in DNC on 4/14/15, not viable. In 2015 I was 35...Found out I had only one working ovary, which was DOR, with scar tissue and I ovulated at 7 days, with a small cervix opening and a tilted uterus... Needing an RE was a must.....IUI#1 Sept 2015,,, BFN IUI#2 Oct 2015,,,BFN IUI#3 Dec 2015,,BFN IVF#1 2/1/16- BFN IVF# on 3/29/16 retrieval only - 1 healthy chromosome tested embryo. IVF#3 retrieval 4/23/16- 0 healthy embryos. IVF#4 retrieval 6/17/16- 1 healthy embryo. FET#1-Transferred Both Healthy Embryos on 9/6/16 BFP!! 9/15/16 Beta 22.3, 9/17/16 Beta 60.5 & 9/19/16 Beta 195! 1st US on 9/23/16, only 1 Gast Sac & Yolk Sac found, US 9/30/16 US 6wk 1day saw and heard Heartbeat 120bpm!! EDD 5/25/2017 Had a healthy baby girl via CSection on 5/18/17 8lbs 15oz. Then four months later got pregnant naturally and had a healthy baby boy on 6/13/18 7lbs 6oz (at age 38). Needless to say, anything is possible! I'm keeping my signature open so it gives someone out there hope that anything is possible. Message me if you ever have any questions or just need someone to talk to. DON'T GIVE UP!

  • @lsatturo126 me too! And finally knowing everyone's name!
  • @LeFemmeViolette - I Pm'd you.

My my name is Mack Uruguay on fb, btw (not my real name). A remnant of my youth, but you'll probably figure it out by the extensive Minipony pictures
  • Hi ladies! So excited to see more BFP's! I did start an October FET group so those of you who are gearing up for next month, I would love to see you over there!! Would it still be ok for me to be a part of your Facebook group, even though I was cancelled in September?! I'd love to see all of your progress and bragging over there

  • Oh and I forgot my email address if you're ok with adding me! ltl_13@yahoo.com

  • @ltlavac FX that October is your month! You were canceled due to your lining not increasing, right? For what it's worth, my lining was only a 4.5 at the last monitoring appointment before my FET but had good trilaminar striping and I got a positive.
  • Yes cancelled the first time in August due to thin lining then again this month bc I ovulated...lining was still thin 6.5, you give me hope! My RE won't budge on anything less than 8, so we'll see what happens this month! My

  • Ugh...message got cut off! Darn mobile! Congrats to you again! So happy for your BFP!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 Mr RE usually keeps the PIO going until 10 weeks. I’m not sure if they taper off or not. I didn’t quite get that far last time.

@bells52000 I looked at the board from my FET in May that ended in mc and felt the same way. I felt like everyone else had got their BFP and didn’t mc. They are a step ahead but the good news is that we all get to try again. You’ll be back at it again so soon!

4 days till my beta. I am excited for it but also I know how nervous I'll still be if it's BFP. Last time I thought everything would be so straightforward, and then it wasn't. :( Ugh. I'm just ready to get pregnant and be 12 weeks along already! ha

  • @Tusername This whole thing is not for the faint of heart that is for sure.  Hoping for nothing but happy nervousness for you!

@APM_SLP My Re mentioned the ERA test too.  But he said he thought we should wait until I have at least two chemicals in a row before doing it.  I will be watching your feedback on it closely!  Good luck!  I hope it gives you the answers!  Seriously when a PGS normal doesn't stick, uggh.  My RE said it could be male sperm factor, mosaic embryo, poor hormone levels, etc...Pretty much, they have no clue.

@Tusername Even though I haven't experienced such a traumatic loss like you and many others here have, I am starting to worry just because I know that it can happen. I want to just feel fantastic and certain that I will be delivering a baby in 9 months but I know I need to be cautious with that. Today I've had random thoughts pop into my head like, "What if I miscarry at 11 weeks?" or "What if my beta comes back LOWER tomorrow?" And I get this feeling of dread. I am such a worry wart, and I know I just need to think positively, but it is so hard especially when you go through all that we go through just to get pregnant in the first place. Anyway, sorry for the rant. GL to you on Saturday!!!

  • @LeFemmeViolette thanks for putting the group together!  I will PM you (now that I'm done PMing @LSatturo126 by accident).  I can't even blame booze since that's off the table until beta.

I hope everyone keeps the updates coming (beta results, BFP progress, BFN follow-up plans).  I'm cheering for everyone here and hopefully we will all get to graduate to a BMB in the near term.
  • @wifeinraleigh28 I'm having those same thoughts so you're not alone!
  • @wifeinraleigh28 yes I'm being a complete worry wart as well. I saw my gp last week and was telling her that I might be preg and that I'm worried If I am I may miscarry. After how long it's taken to get here it would be crushing. She told me that the odds are in my favour... Much higher chance that everything will be fine than having a miscarriage. Which has actually made me feel much more relaxed.

    TW: mc discussed
@wifeinraleigh28 I do not want my previous experience to make you or anyone worry more. In my case, I was warned at my 6 wk ultrasound that the heart rate should have been higher but it wasn't a huge concern yet. The heart rate continued to be lower than normal and lo was measuring small the entire time. So- your RE does get a good feel of things at your first ultrasound. And, with PGS testing you're very unlikely to miscarry! In my mind my mc was so unexpected (bc I was being crazy positive that everything would look normal at my next check up), but really..there were signs all along.
So- my point is...if your RE says everything looks great, they really mean it and try to just enjoy being pregnant. Everything will go well!

Edited bc I was rambling and never really made a point.

  • Sorry @Tusername. I remember your sad mc from the other FET thread this summer and your experience scared the sh*t out of me. Although I think it will help me prepare for all possible u/s outcomes (I thought you either see a heartbeat or you don't, black and white). Only 10 days until u/s, then maybe I'll breathe a bit easier.

We didn't get PGD testing done, but come on , my day 5 blast surely has a good chance???? Sigh, I need a crystal ball.
  • @FatPony I have a good feeling about you. A lot of times embryos with chromosome issues won't even make it to the stage yours did, so the likelihood of it being healthy is high. 10 days left to wait is still excrutiating though! I don't know how I'll get through that wait either!

  • @fatpony Yes, I was going crazy on google scholar reading every study I could about low heart rates and all the stats were against me. I really think in most cases the sticky little embryos stay for good! I didn't do PGS either but I truly think this one is your one! I bet you'll make a lot of new items for your store in those 10 days, ha! When I'm waiting like that I sometimes bake or cook food for an army when there's just the 2 of us at home. :-) DH doesn't mind that.

I may not be POAS but that won't stop me from symptom spotting! Very slight boobage pain, crampy & crazy exhausted today. Hopefully I have a tiny burrowing lo.

  • I spoke to the clinic today and they said they like to do the u/s closer to 7 weeks as sometimes at 6 it isn't as clear and they don't like to stress anyone out! Oh.... So I have 15 days to wait now! FIFTEEN!!!! Argh! Torture!!!!
  • @c-k 15 more days?! Ugh, I'm sorry. But at least you should have a nice clear picture of your little one by then!

@tusername just a few more days! FX that your symptoms are a little one getting nice and cozy in there!

Beta Buddies @wifeinraleigh28 and @thucks, how are you feeling this morning? @thucks I have my fingers crossed so tightly for you that your number more than doubles and you are able to relax a little bit.

My blood has been drawn. The nurse had issues finding my vein and then the blood came out slower than I've ever seen. Hoping that's not a bad omen! Trying to remind myself to stay calm and that I've already passed one big hurdle. My DH likes to say that this is like a steeple chase race. The start line has been crossed but now we have the hurdles and water jumps to deal with.

  • I'm siting outside the clinic now waiting for the doors to open so I can give my blood. @mtpbadger thank you for holding your fingers extra crossed for me. I'm still having the same symptoms that I have been. My boobs are a little less soar but I'm feeling sick if it's been a while between meals and there is defiantly something going on down there. A lot of pinching and tugging. My nightmares came back again last night

  • @thucks I'm so jealous that you will hear your results so early! Mine will be sometime this afternoon again. At least this time I can answer the phone and not have to let it go to voicemail and wait for DH! Although now that I think about it, that makes me nervous!

  • @mtpbadger My Burger King I ate for breakfast either hated me or I hated it so I felt sick most of the day yesterday so I tried to skip lunch but about 1 I decided that I can't do that and walked down to the Cafe and got a sandwich. I don't get so much queasy as I do faint. I thought I was going to faint right there in the restaurant. It happened Saturday too. I skipped breakfast cause we are trying to get ready to put our home on the market so I got busy working on things. DH stopped me and made me eat cause he thought I was blacking out on him. I never had ms with the twins but I did have the same faint feeling if I didn't eat every few hours.

I'm in the waiting room of my clinic waiting for them to call me back to take my blood. My clinic is BUSY this morning! Hopefully that doesn't mean I'll have to wait a long time to get my phone call later!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 that's how mine was on Monday! I had a 6.45 appointment and was the second one in line waiting for the doors to open yet they didn't call people in order. This morning was pretty quiet so there were only 2 of us in there and I was in and out quickly!

@thucks thankfully nothing I've ate has not agreed with me yet but the light headedness and queasiness is enough for me. I am usually a HUGE sweets person (chocolate especially) but the thought of anything like that makes my stomach turn. A bag of Hershey kisses might last through a few days in my drawer normally and I've had one sitting in there for over a week now.

  • No Bueno I went down to a 5. Looks like we are going to take a break until January. October-December are very busy months and we are buying a new house in November just about the dates for the next FET so I guess we are passing.

Just got a voicemail from my nurse. Beta only rose to 324, which isn't what they were looking for at this point, they wanted to see an increase of at least 70%. She wants me to continue all meds and go for repeat blood work on Friday, which now I will have to find somewhere to go in MN since I'll be home visiting my parents.

I am heartbroken. To be so excited two days ago and having such a good first beta to potentially this not being a successful pregnancy and it not even increasing by 100. How can that even be??

@thucks I'm so sorry that it went down. Hope you're doing ok.

  • @thucks I'm so sorry! What crap news. You and I may be on a very similar timeline, so I'm sure I'll see you around the boards!
