Re: WTO Tuesday 9/27

  • @lulu1180 what green tea do you use? If it doesn't happen this month, I'm cutting out coffee so I need a morning drink

    @KhRun17 brr!! Too cold for me!
  • Loading the player...
  • @purplg8r I just got some generic green tea from Aldi and am trying that for now.  I currently put a teaspoon of honey in to help sweeten it and make it a little easier to drink.  Other than that one cup in the morning, I have cut out all caffeine this cycle.

    @adirat That makes me feel a lot better! Thank you! Hmmm...I tend to be dehydrated, and I do drink caffeine all throughout the day (which I'm trying to stop). That would explain why I see barely any CM in the morning and it increases later in the day after I've had water.

  • @GeorgiaWife6912 I hate sleeping alone too! It probably doesn't help that I'm a light sleeper and we have a psychotic terrier mix who likes to bark at nothing in the middle of the night and scare me half to death.

    @marybpoppins good luck with the rest of the renovation! I'm jealous of your extra long weekend.

    @LuND and @mrsdaddario thanks for the support. I'm trying to snap myself out of it, and I think I'll get there in the next couple of days. I think it's just a bad combination of hormones, feeling like nothing in general is going right, and a bit of fear over taking the next step with TTC. I don't really have anyone other than MH to talk to about it because the limited circle of people who know we're trying don't have much experience with what I've been dealing with (thank goodness for my fellow bumpers!).  My sister and best friend know what's going on, but they both had unplanned pregnancies, and my mother is completely unhelpful - I just get the 'it'll happen when it's supposed to' line.
  • @wabash15 - aww... you and YH! THAT is commitment! My DH and I were in different states for most of our dating life, I can't imagine not having Skype, and going to fly to see each other.
    @zwink1 - I'm sorry you're having a downer week. I am too. I hope it's looking up soon.
    @MrsN092714 - WOW! That is so rough. It is incredibly frustrating when someone isn't trying and *whoops* it just happens, when you're working so hard. And then to make it worse, she already has one that she doesn't take care of. How terrible! I just had a friend post on FB that she's KU and her due date is within a week of when our MC would've been. I feel ya girl! *creepy internet hugs* Enjoy your anniversary with your DH and Fx that this is your cycle. <3
    @Dilynne - I usually O on CD 19 and start CBD OPK's on CD12, so about a week before I expect O. Hope that helps.

  • @RunRestRepeat Just an FYI, quite a few of the ladies on here use the Mabis that is mentioned in the newbie guide pinned to the top of the board.  You can get it for about $7 on Amazon.  If you choose to get another one, just make sure it is a BBT and goes to at least 1/10th of a degree and not 2/10th of a degree like most fever thermometers.  Good luck!

    It's super tough when no one IRL understands the struggle.  We all need a little extra TTC love from our fellow bumpies once in a while!  We're here for you, girl!
  • @rainbowturtles haha, yeah DH will be about 3.5 hrs away, so totally doable. I normally really enjoy a little alone time here and there, too. I mean junk food (without the worry that DH will eat it all), bad TV, and all the wine. And, at least its really nice to have other "don't O quite yet" dancers to commiserate with!
  • Thanks, @lulu1180! I saw that was the most recommended one by bumpies, so I'm sure that's what I'll end up with!

  • @wabash15, Yikes, sorry for the migraine with jackhammering outside! Great that you got a good night’s sleep, though! And OMG I didn’t realize we could have an anniversary baby! Now my hopes are going to be crazier than ever this month!!

    @adirat, that’s interesting research! Thanks!!

    @MrsN092714, Oh I am so sorry. That is a really tough situation. You get all the hugs today. <3 But on the positive side, happy anniversary!!!

    @LuND, LOL cute story!!

    @mrsdaddario, Yay for a good scan!! And we’re anniversary twins!!

    @RunRestRepeat, I wouldn’t say that I have a clear temping pattern, but in the three months I’ve been doing it, I have been able to see a clear shift after O. That’s all I really care about!

    @Sirius37, Wow, nice score with the free crib!!

    CD: 25ish, I'm having pre-AF spotting so it'll happen in the next few days.

    WAYDTGKU: Decided to start trying, found my BBT, bought a new BBT (cheaper than replacing the battery)

    R/R: No rants today :-).  Having a rave at my house since my girls are at Grandma's till tomorrow morning!  I went out for lunch and had a beer.

    CS/Q: Not today.

    GTKY: What was your first impression of your DH?  I actually don't remember meeting DH.  We "met" at a birthday party and we were both there with other dates.  I remember the party, and I remember his date being there, and I guess him but I don't remember actually talking to him.  He claims that we had a conversation about Dr. Who and I do not remember it at all (I didn't drink at the party, but it sounds like a conversation I'd have with someone I'd just met).
    DH was casually dating a friend of my (at the time) BF.  We hung out a few times as a group and I thought he was cool, but it took me a while to take a special interest.

  • GeorgiaWife6912 I thought about you today.  I’m glad you got to visit your mom and found comfort in doing so.

    lulu1180 I lol’d at your rant… DH already told me not to wake him up for BD.

    rainbowturtles I hope you feel better, and that you got a nap J

    MrsN092714  Your rant sounds very painful and frustrating, I’m sorry.

    Dilynne Nerds are hot! (my DH is a super nerd too!)

    LuND  /ded at your DH met story.  “Size does not matter when you’re flat on your back”

    mrsdaddario OMG I’m such a shoulders girl too.

    @lulu1180 (again!)  I have this theory that the TARDIS is a Hoberman sphere.

  • @Aurora1973 that Ralphie GIF is so stinking cute. I love him!
  • @Bitterbetty12 No need to apologize! Always great to see you, though I'm sorry to hear that your parents have been trying this school year.

    @vflux33 I have a cousin who spent part of her pregnancy in Japan (her husband was stationed there at the time) and she said sushi is encouraged as a pregnancy food in Japan! It's mild and easy to digest in their pregnancy lore, and spicy foods are what pregnant women should avoid. She also told me that listeria fears make American women avoid cold cuts but European women avoid salads -- since listeria is likelier in salad greens than cold cuts. Kind of makes me wonder how real any of the food prohibitions are.

  • @adirat @vflux33 and others, I also read a bit recently that sushi might not be as bad as we make it out to be and they mentioned how women in Japan eat it all the time. I think preparation/freshness is key so definitely know your sushi restaurant (tho I'm so scared after losses that I probably wouldn't risk it personally just because of how much it's been built up as such a no no). There has been listeria found in SO many things recently that it feels like a land mine. Packaged salads, frozen fruits and veggies (even organic so it's not like quality matters). I do wonder how serious it all is and how much is fear mongering but it's one of those things where ....you never know ? I'd hate for anyone to be "that one time" :( But also don't want us all living in fear <3
  • @adirat: I didn't realized it was encouraged there --that's really interesting. I never heard the thing about salad vs. cold cuts either. I was planning to give up cold cuts and not give up salad but I will have to look into all that more now...

    @rainbowturtles: I feel you on the not living in fear thing. I don't know about you guys but I feel like I'm already living in fear even though not KU... So sorry about your losses. I can definitely see why that would make you more paranoid about this stuff. There's so much conflicting info out there, which makes it all the more frustrating.

    @Dinosaur: Yeah we need regular standing pee parties! Maybe we should do the 26th every month? I don't know. Who started the pee party again last time? I forget. But she definitely should be in on the date choosing!
