@SawyerRichardson I like Chloe Grace but my DD's name is Briley Lou which is pretty southern. So maybe I just like southern names.

FYI: There's a congresswoman named Shiela Jackson Lee. You might want to google out your options. And I hear you on not wanting a super-popular name, but my friend Cindy named her kid Jack in spite of the popularity of that name and he's the only Jack in his class. Meanwhile, his sister, with a less common name, has never been the only one with that name in her classes!

We were originally going with Carson Alexander for a boys name but DHL decided he didn't like Carson, so now his name will be Eli Alexander. I was very adamant on the middle name, it's my grandfather's name.

I love Eli! Our top two names are Samuel and Eli. I'm still not sure on the middle name. Our first is Peter Joseph (My Husband is Joseph) and I want to honor either DH's Dad or Grandpa. That would leave us with Jeffrey or Robert as a middle name.

If we have a girl, her middle name will be Sharon after my grandmother. If we have a boy he will be named after DH's late twin Freddy. Love sentimental names

Well, now that we know it's a boy, we are officially naming him Dean Wayne! Wayne is the traditional family MN (DH and FIL both). We opted to keep the name to ourselves until birth so the families wouldn't pester us with "better options", but now instead it's turned into a constant guessing game for all of them... which is equally annoying. Seriously? Be patient, people!

It's kind of lucky for us we agreed so easily on the boy's name, because we were not agreed on girl options!

I convinced DH to put Maverick back on the table as a middle name

I'd prefer it as his first name...but I'm not unreasonable. I'll take middle if I can get it!

DH and I are naming our little girl Rosalie Joelle but calling her Rosie for short. We're not officially announcing it until she's born. MIL is pissed bc Rosie was my DH's dad's first wife's name. I've never met that bitch and I've only met DH's dad once ever so she's just gonna have to deal. Regardless, MIL is still stuck on the name Patrick but she has modified it to fit the sex. She is now adamant on Patrice or Patricia and not that there's anything wrong with those names. I'm just not naming my kid them.

Our boy name is almost 100% set - Sebastian Clark, middle is my dad's name. I think this will go well with our son who is Augustus David (he has a family middle name too, H's dad's name).
My second boy name is Theodore Clark.

For girl names not so set yet. I love Felicity, Phoebe and Victoria. They are my top 3 with Felicity being my absolute fave and I just love it so much. Middle will be Marie, which is my middle name. H is goo with all of them but has had no real opinion yet.

@peachesnbean It's funny, because we are fans, but it is the tradition that the first name start with D... I was campaigning for Derek, but we have a family friend who completely RUINED that name with his horrible personality.

Dean was the only D name we both liked! It's strong, traditional, but not popular enough that there will be a bunch of them running around.

We are thinking Henry Baer. Baer is my maternal grandparents last name.

We are being basic bishes and wondering if it's too normal of a name. We were going for something more unique and off the beaten path but I think we just have to face it. We're normal nancies.

I finally told DH the girl name I love, and he loves it too. He told me the other day that he's "kind of set on it" which of course made me go, well maybe we should keep thinking because it can't be that easy, haha! We don't even know the sex yet, so we'll see next week!

I found this cool app (babyname-app.com) where you and your SO can download it on your phones and link your accounts. It randomly shows you names and you swipe left if you don't like it, swipe right if you like it. Then, if you both like any of the same names it shows you your matches. That's why I hadn't told him my name, I was waiting to see what names we would match on, but I got impatient.

Yeah, it's not the best app in the world. It seems to work better some days than others. When I first got it it was repeating a lot and I thought it didn't have very many names, but then I tried it again a few days later and it was giving me new names. It definitely crashes a lot, but I like how it randomly suggests names rather than just looking through a list like all the other apps I've tried.

My best friend just named her baby Eleanor and I LOVE it! I never didn't like it, but after hearing it all weekend (we were bridesmaids together) I love it more!

They aren't planning on shortening it, but it also has a ton of cute options. Ellie, Ella, Nora, etc.

I actually love Ella, as a stand alone name, but in So Cal it would get pronounced/ confused with the Spanish "ella" meaning "her/she".
So if we use Eleanor, H is happy and I get to use Ella!

We're team green and have our girls names set:

Middle name a derivative of either mine, DH's or my dad's name (which is also my MN)

We are stumped on boys names. None of them stand out a clear frontrunners, more like "yeah I guess I'd be fine with that" which is bumming us out

Beau
Maddox
Dominic
Or Jason, Jordan, Joshua, blah blah blah
Dex (Dexter) but the whole serial killer thing ruined that one for sure

MN would be DH's name or my dad's name (we're not narcissistic, it's a family tradition spanning the last 4 generations to do it that way for either sex). I just can't help but feel "meh" about all our boys names. We have a very common last name, so anything simple but maybe not as common would be better?

I feel like I'm betraying some secret code by giving our lists lol, I've had this typed out for a few weeks but never hit Post. Ahhhh the beauty of anonymous forums

@yogadevil I have a harder time being excited about boys names too, and we are team blue (so I really need one)! I think I like Cole the best from your list.

My husband picked our sons name (Isaac). He loved it so much! I didn't have any options i felt that strongly about, so we went with it. Now it fits him great, and I like that it's not super common, a biblical name, and also not too unusual.

So since we found out babe is a Girl today my H said that he really likes Phoebe for a girl name. I'm pretty excited over that haha
