It doesn't look like I'm going home anytime soon, I honestly expect I'll have a baby by the end of this week because they're talking induction and said no way I'm making it until October. Ladies, I'm so not prepared, I didn't even get to shave!!! Lol

Breech Babies / Checking... My cervix wasn't checked until my 36 week appointment at at 36w5d, my cervix was soft but no other change. The Ob said it was because LO had been breech for so long, there wasn't enough pressure on my cervix. I totally feel it now that baby has flipped. Also, most doctors want to schedule the U/S for week 39 at the latest so you don't chance having to have an emergency c-section if you are breech and go into labor on your own. Good luck to all the breech moms out there! Thinking flipping thoughts!
My friend told me the other day that she's been induced and gone into labor naturally and she would choose being induced any day. I don't have any experience but it was nice to hear in case!

Well my hope for the baby turning ran out today. I have a c section scheduled for Sunday afternoon because the baby is breech and I'm 4cm dilated. The concern is cord prolapse {cord is delivered before the baby and almost always fatal}.
Can't believe Sunday is baby day for us!

@PCOSbaby oh wow!!! Sunday is like right here! Did they do an ECV? I ask because this baby is breech too. I've been reading up on ECVs and what to expect, etc. They are gonna try one next week.
2 cm and 50% effaced. Still having contractions. I had a few on the fetal monitor that hit 100 on the toco, but weren't super painful. Doctor said she wouldn't be surprised if I went into labor this week! She could be wrong, though. We'll see.
So what does it mean ladies when they say "You are xxCM and __% effaced or __% dilated" what is the cm part of it?
@annabenanna Basically baby at the front door is 10 cm dilated and 100% effaced. Effacement is thinning of the cervix. Think of it like a Lifesaver candy. It starts out thick and with a thin hole in the middle, but after you suck on it a while, it becomes very thin with a much wider hole. That's exactly what the cervix is doing to let the baby pass through the opening.
CM is dilation, % is effacement. Referring to dilation by percentage is not useful information.
How fast the process goes is up to your body. It could take three hours, or it could take three weeks. So multiple measurements are more useful than just one, unless you're talking full dilation and effacement.

My doctor plans to start checking me at my next appointment. I'll be 34+5. Feels really early, but I'm too curious to complain
