@SpaceBurger yes!! No contractions or BH and I haven't dropped. I secretly hate all you people going into early labor j/k im just jealous, I'm very excited for all the mommas
I know she should.cook as long as possible but I just want to meet my girl and have a legit reason for not sleeping and being this exhausted
@SpaceBurger yes! I'm due on the 12th too and don't feel like I've had any labor signs either (at least that I know of ), baby hasn't even dropped yet. I'm really hoping she'll come slightly early or right on time.
@SpaceBurger Yeah, I'm due Oct 13 with no suggestion of preterm. I want baby to cook until she's ready. BUT part of me feels kind of sad that the thirtieth baby born to the board is not going to be as exciting as the first few.
@spaceburger@ibabyloveb87 same. Due 10/10 and no contractions, discharge, nothing. Doctor got my hopes up and said he thought baby might come early because it was measuring so big at 32 weeks, but now I feel like I'm resigned to another month of this misery.
ive been having a ton of BH but baby hasn't dropped yet and no dilation yet which I was pretty disappointed about. Hoping for some progress at my appt on Tuesday (EDD 10/5)
Aww @SpaceBurger, you're definitely not alone. I'm due Oct. 2nd, @von1976 was my edd twin, and I have had no signs either. Just checked on Thursday and she said I'm dilated a fingernail... Lmao. Not even a centimeter. I feel left behind already.. Lol.. Think von makes the 2nd of my edd twins to be in labor/have a baby already.
Can you have BH every 5 minutes for 2 hours? They don't last longer than 30 secs. I've lied in bed, walked around, sipped gatorade and took a warm shower and they won't go away. Ughhh it's 2am, I am so tired and don't want to call the hospital.
Thanks ladies! Breastfeeding is tough going for us, but we're working on it. Just found out they want to keep us through Sunday, which gives me the sads.
FTMs, if you get the feeling you should go to the hospital, just go! I waited until the second or third time I had that thought, and we almost didn't make it. Checked into the hospital at 9 and she was born an hour later! No time for an epidural even if I wanted one.
I just wanted to say that baby Hazel and I are doing great, there have been no complications after birth and I'll update the announcement thread later today with pictures of the cuteness. Thank you so much for the support ladies, you gave no idea how much you helped this FTM! And those facing a c section for the first time, it's not as scary as I thought it would be, so try not to get too worked up.
Ignore the grammar and bad spelling, I don't have my glasses on lol.
@SpaceBurger I'm due 10/17...and pretty sure baby is sticking to that time frame! No BH, no dilating, just chugging along! I don't really mind, I like knowing I still have a few more weeks....except, I wish I wasn't so uncomfortably pregnant! I can't believe I have another month before I can feel my hands again.
Congratulations edd twin, @von1976! She's beautiful and I'm so glad things went so quickly once you got to the hospital! Congratulations @nataliemaephotography on Hazel!
Congrats @nataliemaephotography and @von1976! I'm so excited for both of you and your beautiful baby girls! Wow @von1976, I'm really hoping as a FTM my hospital time and delivery are that quick! But that's good to know to listen to your body, I feel like I have no idea what to expect over here.

So technically there are three categories of contractions: Braxton hicks, false labor, and true labor. BH and false labor aren't always the same thing. BH is NOT regular and does not serve to dilate the cervix. False labor is usually irregular but does serve to dilate the cervix. It can have periods of regularity, however, but may stop at any time. True labor is regular and does not SLOW with change in activity or position, but activity may accelerate contractions.
You will know when it's real labor. I didn't understand that before I went through it, but I get it now. You will stop talking during true labor contractions. You will double over in pain and not be able to walk. Changing position will not make them go away. They will wake you up from a dead sleep! And contractions will be at least a minute long.
If you have any of that and think, "Maybe it's time to go to the hospital," GO. SERIOUSLY. I waited because my contractions weren't as regular as I'd like. They weren't 5:00 on the dot, but 5:45, 3:58, 6:15, 4:24... We waited until they got very painful and were coming 3-5 mins apart. They were 1-2 mins apart by the time I got to triage and I was 8 cm dilated! We waited too long. The doctor told us next time to please come sooner. She barely made it in time to catch the baby!
For those of you coming up on your due dates with no sign of labor, don't be discouraged. All of our bodies are different. Some show signs for weeks and some don't start having symptoms until a few hours before go time. We will all have our babies soon!
@von1976 Oh my gosh! At least you got to labor at home for most of it!
Update: I'm in labor! Only 2cm dilated but I came in when contractions were between 3 and 5 min. Water broke (trickled out) at home so I'm not leaving this hospital pregnant! Crazy!

@SpaceBurger if they weren't watching me for my BP, I would be in the same boat. I thought I was having BH but nope, nothing.
@von1976 good luck to you too!
