Wishing everyone short, healthy, and happy births!!
Baby Simon was born September 3rd at 28+6 by emergency c-section due to IUGR. He weighed 1lb 7oz and was 12.5 inches long. He is doing amazingly well and has been growing! This is the day he was born.
Brielle Rose Schultz decided that September 18 was a better birthday than November 19. She was born 9/18/16 at 3:45pm weighting 4lbs and 7oz measuring 17" long. She's in the NICU, but is doing so well thus far!
Our little girl Kimber was born at 34 weeks 1 day due to me having pre clampsia and high blood pressure! She was born healthy at 4lbs 6oz. Still in nicu to get stronger but getting better everyday and hoping to bring her home soon!
Here is miss Eva Grace! Friday my water broke (34w/5d) and by Saturday they induced labor. Sunday she finally arrived (with the help of a vacuum for delivery) at 10:48am. She was officially 35 weeks at that point, 5lbs 13oz, 19.25 inches long. Despite getting two steroid shots during my stay at the hospital her lungs are a little under developed so she's with the special care nursery, but not high risk. I am suffering from a spinal headache from my epidural so being able to just rest is nice. It was a tough 40 hrs but I'm so happy to be her Mom (though she's totally a daddy's girl).
Michael was born at 2:00 on 10/18 at 37+1 weighing in at 7pounds 5 ounces and 20.5inches long! I can't believe he's here! We are over the moon and we are doing great!
She's here! Leighton Mitchell joined us a little early due to preeclampsia. She is 7lbs and 20in exactly! She's currently in the special care unit due to some grunting when she breathes. They seem to act like this is normal with babies who weren't quite ready to come out yet. Thank you so much for all the love and support!
Cooper Scott was born October 21st at 5:29 via c section at 38 weeks. He weighed 7lbs 8oz and 19 inches long! I was admitted Thursday night because of high blood pressure. They did cervidil that night and pitocin all day yesterday and I didn't dilate at all so they made the decision around 3 to schedule a c section for 5. I am so thankful he's finally here and healthy! We are so in love with him!
Damani finally made his appearance 10/24 at 8:48am I woke up with contractions around 2:30am but because I have been contracting the last week I didn't think anything of it but I couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to time them and we were admitted by 4:30-4:45am dialted to 5 by the time I got my epidural I was 7cm and when they came back to break my water less then an hr later I was 10cm they let him come down on his own but I couldn't handle the pressure so after almost an hour of pushing he was here only weighing 5lbs 8oz and 18 1/2in long. We are so excited and in awe of him it's hard to believe he will be our last!
Mason Archibald came today via planned c section! Little rocky to start.. my platelet count dropped too low so they wouldn't do an epidural. Only option with spinal where they had to give more meds then usual because of no epidural. The meds made me super dizzy and really stomach sick the entire day. Otherwise baby is super healthy and the most perfect little human!!
Lenora Susanne arrived 10/25/16 at 5:37PM at 6lbs.8oz and 19.27cm long! I had been in the hospital for the last month due to pre-ecclampsia. Being in here for so long took a really huge toll on me, and luckily, even though Lenora was doing just fine staying in, they induced me at 35 weeks. I started the Cervidil at around 8pm on the 24th, and had horrible cramps all night long. (that stuff sucks!) The next afternoon they took it out and started me on pitocin. Due to a yeast infection I was unaware of, the cervical checks BURNED ME UP! I could barely be touched. They had to give me my epidural early just so they could check me and break my water. About 6 hours later, I was fully dialated, but had gone through panic attacks all day long. (I threw up 4 times from them, begged for something to help and I finally got a small shot of vallium to get me through labor.) I got four separate doses of epidural bolus shots and had level 10 pain in my hip because apparently, I was told later by my husband that my epidural bag had run dry and I dealt with that pain for 3 hours! To make a very long story short, I started pushing and an hour later, I shot baby out like a cannonball! Because everything came out so fast, I had a first degree tear (which sucked because the dr. didn't bother to numb me at all since I'd be getting two non-drugged up stitches vs. two numbing stitches PLUS the other two stitches.) Getting her out was glorious. My husband was the best coach I could have dreamed of. She came out grunting and not crying very loud, and has only made a few sorta loud cries all day. Otherwise she is eating great and is sleeping a lot, and being loved to death by her family and especially her daddy! Our dreams have come true and we couldn't be more blessed.
Baby girl surprised us today by arriving 4 weeks early! Woke up with major back labor at 2 that I thought was just pregnancy discomfort even though it was super intense. Tried to go to work and left after 45 minutes. DH came home at 9:30, doula joined at 11, arrived at the hospital at 12:31 and she was already popping out and I had her at 12:52! Needless to say, we're still a bit in shock and awe over this amazing early girl.
Charles Louis arrived October 22. I had some high blood pressure and protein in my urine so the decision was made to induce. There was some drama near the end (he had the cord around his neck) but otherwise everything went smoothly and we are home enjoying him.
Henry Maddison Thomas V arrived Thursday October 27 @11:41 am weighing 7lb 7oz via c section as he did not like the whole natural labor idea. his heart rate dropped to 70 as I was being induced so c section was the only action at that point. so many scares. Henry came out with alot of bruising and swelling accompanied by yriuble breathing. he is currently being treated in the nicu for his breathing and heart monitored as he suffers from vsd. things are slowly improving each day at a time. prayers welcome please.
I assume all of us were originally due in November (mine was due the 27th) but she came early. All of us are early deliveries, but still posted here because this is the birth month board we've followed for the past 9 months.
Oh I'm sorry! I meant to write that on the October group. Some babies from early Nov get posted on the October board. I'm due on November 7th so I'm in both. Was hoping she'd come a little early but I guess she will be a Nov baby after all
Alana Maria was born this morning (Nov. 1) via RCS. She's a whopping 9 lbs, 15 oz and 21.5" and has a FULL head of hair. Nursing like a champ. We are head over heels :-)
I'm a little late posting but still wanted to pop in to update.
Team Green turned Blue last Thursday with the arrival of Vincent Edward.
Our sweet little rainbow was born via a scheduled c section 10/27/16 at 11:04am. He weighed in at 7lbs6oz and 19.5in. I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get the whole labor/delivery experience but he's here, safe and healthy which is so much more important. The week prior we found out that he was breech thanks to a growth scan. They estimated him at about 6lbs 6-8oz and recommended we attempt an ECV the next day(38 weeks). Little man wouldn't budge for us despite 3 attempts to flip him around but he tolerated the attempts well and we didn't need to take immediate action(ECV can be traumatic for baby so we went in knowing we might have ended up with an emergency c section. Very grateful that wasn't the outcome.) Upon the Dr's recommendation we scheduled a c section but we had to wait until least 39 weeks so we went with Thursday at 39+1.
We waited out the week hoping he might miraculously turn vertex on his own but the stubborn little guy just didn't want to cooperate so we checked into labor and delivery at 8:30am on 10/27. They hooked me up to all the monitors and started my IV and paperwork. The doctor got there just a little after 10:30 and verified with another ultrasound that baby was indeed still breech. It was go time!
They got me all prepped, brought DH into the room and we got started. I could feel them tugging like they said I would but really it more so felt like they were just pushing my lower body around behind the sheet. DH stood up and watched them take baby out(and took a couple pictures). I cried when DH told me he was a boy and I heard him start wailing! They took a few minutes to get him cleaned up and I watched across the room as he peed on the nurse and DH. We had names picked out before he was born but when they asked me what we wanted to name him all I could say was that I wanted to see him first. Once they brought him back to me I immediately knew the name we picked was right and told DH he's Vincent because he doesn't look anything like a Micah(our backup name) then I cried some more.
I couldn't feed him immediately in the OR because I felt like I was upside down on the table but they got me back to my room within 15-20 minutes and I started breastfeeding him while they continued to check my vitals and got me hooked up to the monitors in our room. He latched on like a little champ and luckily hasn't had any trouble with BFing so far other than my nipples being sore after the first full day(I blame the nurses on that one because even tho they gave me a small tube of lanolin, they gave me absolutely no other help with feeding and I didn't know when or how much to use the lanolin) and a couple of rounds of cluster feeding. It's getting better now after almost a week but it was really hurting for a while.
TL:DR rainbow baby Vincent Edward was breech and arrived via a scheduled c section on 10/27 at 11:04am. He weighed 7lbs6oz and was 19.5in long.
I'll add pictures in a bit but they are on my phone instead of my tablet.
Little Adam made his arrival 2 weeks early due to contractions with a cervical cerclage for 2 days. Due to my blood pressure dropping so low, having experienced the whole pitocin thing, him being sunny side up and the cord wrapped so tight around his head.....he made his perfect entrance on 10-29!!!!! I would do it all over again, but he is my last and final baby!
Baby Alex arrived on Nov 2nd just before midnight after almost a month of prodomal labour. I went to L&D (for the 4th of 5th time) on Wednesday with terrible contractions but no change to my cervix. The contractions were so intense and so close together they decided to just go ahead with my csection right then and there.
And now I have baby Alex He is perfect and latching like a champ.

Our sweet Evelyn Margaret was born at 5:54 am on November 3rd. I had my 39 week appointment on Wednesday (at 39 and 4) where we set an induction date and stripped my membranes. I had not been having any contractions for a few days, and was still just dilated to a 3, where I had been the week earlier. I cramped on the way home from the appointment and decided I was going to do what I could to get this show on the road, so I spent 20 minutes pumping when we got home and my family and I went on a nice long walk (upon which we got my second ice cream of the day!) to get things going. Everything just came together and I started consistently contracting about 10 pm. I was able to keep cleaning and doing my thing until midnight, when I had to start focusing and being on the exercise ball to manage the pain. About 2 am, my contractions were 3-4 minutes apart so we decided to go in and called my SIL to come stay with our sleeping daughter. We had a long drive (45 mins) to the hospital and my MW said to be sure to be on our way if I started to throw up while in labor. In perfect timing, my SIL walked in the door and I started throwing up! The drive was quite miserable while contracting and I was feeling a ton of pain in my tailbone. When we got to the hospital, I was 6 cm dilated and 90% at a -1 station. I asked for the ball and spent the next hour and 45 minutes laboring on the exercise ball with my husband sitting behind me applying counter pressure to my sacrum. The nurses had trouble getting and IV on me, so the anesthesiologist was called in. I finally asked her to give me an epidural (which I originally did not want) because the back labor was so painful and I was struggling to get through my contractions, which were only giving me about a 30 second break between them. The anesthesiologist went to gather her things when my MW checked me. She knew I had wanted a natural birth, and quickly shoo'd the anesthesiologist out of the room with a "We're 8.5 and complete, we're gonna have a baby!" She must have stretched the last bit of my cervix and somehow worked some magic, because 15 minutes and 4 contractions worth of pushing, I was able to reach down and pull my baby to my chest! We did skin to skin and nursed for nearly 2 hours before they weighed her and moved us to our PP room. Evelyn is nursing well and I'm so thankful to have had a provider who trusted my body when I had given up and supported me in just the right way.
Everyone tells you you'll love your second as much as your first, but it's a hard concept to imagine until you're there. But, sure enough, as soon as I saw her, she was a part of my heart and it instantly just made room! I am equally enamored and totally overjoyed!
We got home this afternoon and are hoping to sneak in some sleep between loving on our GIRLS (!!!) and adjusting to life as a family of 4!
Rosa Carolina was born a week early on October 31st at 7:45 am in a tub! She came very fast (4 hour labor) and I didn't have time to even think about anesthesia or inductions. She weighs 6 lbs and 8 oz and is 19 inches long. Is absolutely perfect.
Short version: Baby girl #3 born Nov 6 at 39 weeks, 6 days. 8lbs, 5oz and 21 1/4 in long. Second successful VBAC with no complications.
Nov 2: Membranes stripped at 2-3 cm. Doctor felt was successful but didn't do anything. Nov 4: Went in with contractions similar to my first 2 daughters but contractions eventually slowed and stopped and we were sent home at about 4 cm. Nov 5: Contractions started about noon again but slowly and we didn't want a repeat of Nov 4 so waited it out. Took an extra strength Tylenol to help me sleep during the night and got quite a bit of choppy sleep. Nov 6: Contractions were picking up so took another extra strength Tylenol. An hour later took at T3 as we were given a small prescription when I was in Nov 4. -Dropped our older girls off where they were staying. -Headed for the hospital an hour away. T3 kicked in then was overwhelmed with contraction pain. -Arrived at hospital at 5-6cm at 9:30 am. Baby day according to nurse. Both husband and I are thinking an evening birth, or earliest late afternoon birth, as that was kind of how long my first 2 labours were. -Got Fentanyl for pain right away which helped a lot and a walking epidural a short time later. -12:30pm complete and ready to start pushing. -1:07pm baby girl #3 born. Immediate skin to skin time and no major blood loss (2ltrs lost with my second). -Showered and in a room by about 3pm. Both husband and I are amazed at the smooth, quick delivery!!!
