This is the thread to officially sign up for a Labor Buddy. I'll leave it open for about a week or so to make sure everyone who wants to signs up.

Labor Buddies are for all of us, no matter what kind of delivery you have planned. It's an assigned pairing where you (privately) share personal contact info and you become each other's go to for whatever you two want to talk about. Plus this is the person you let know when it's baby time and they can report back to the group for you so you don't need to be thinking of posting to the rest of us while in the hospital (or at home or wherever you are delivering).

Please make sure your EDD is updated on the spread sheet. I will try to pair people up with someone not due around the same time so there's less chance of both buddies having babies on the same day.

Feel free to sign up as a pair if you have formed a friendship with someone on the board. And although there hasn't been a lot of drama on this board, if for some reason you have someone that you absolutely DON'T want as a buddy you can send me a private message with your request and I will do my best to honor this.

I mobile bump, but as of right now my EDD has changed from 12/19 to 12/12--I included it on the due date thread, but I don't know how to change it from here. (Edited to say my EDD changed because of induction from BP--he may come earlier, we don't know yet. But 12/12 for sure right now).

I'll be having a RCS but I'd like a labor buddy. My EDD on the spreadsheet should be 12/9 but the RCS will be between 11/18 and 12/5 depending on my placenta location. Won't really know for a while.

I also mobile bump 99% of the time.

Me too. EDD 12/21. But gut feeling I'll be late. First baby and I was born almost a full 4 weeks late. My poor mother.

ETA: Pacific time zone. And aiming for med free/low intervention birth.

I mostly mobile bump as well and I think I'm on the spreadsheet.... due date is 12/12 but I'll be a RCS, most likely on 12/6

I'm in!! I'm due 11/28. Just a suggestion. Maybe we can mention where we are time zone wise so we can pair up with people in the same time zone. For instance I'm on the East coast- eastern time. That way if we aren't throwing everyone off in different time zones.

I'm so down

My RCS is between 12/5 - 12-9. I only mobile bump, and can't change due date on the spreadsheet (12/10).
Also, I'm on the west coast, but am a relatively early riser. So any time zone is fine with me.
I am a great friend, but will say what I'm thinking. I'd be great with someone who has a good sense of humor and isn't easily offended! Haha...

I'll join too! My EDD is 12/5 but will update if I end up scheduling a c-section. I mostly bump thru the mobile app and I'm on the east coast of the US. Looking forward to getting to know my buddy! Woohoo!

I'm in (east coaster here)! EDD 12/14 and within a week measurement-wise! I can't wait to meet my buddy! I have this vision that I won't communicate a ton during my own birth because I'll hopefully be unmedicated and trying to be in deep relaxation. But in reality I'll probably be very excited and wanting to share haha.

What happens on the birth day? Do people start their own threads? I have poked around on other boards but haven't really found anything.

@leksiL my last BMB had a basic announcement thread where you posted stats and a couple pics, then either the labor buddy or mom made her own thread and did the updates as it happened.

I'm in. I think I'm in the spreadsheet? EDD 12/12, but twins...so pretty much could happen anytime from mid-November to then. Also I'm on the west coast....but I don't think there are many here in that time zone lol.

I'm in AZ so I'm special with the time zone. Currently 3 hours off east coast but change to 2 hours whenever daylight saving stuff happens. We don't change our clocks, it's awesome!

@leksiL - different bmb's do it different but my last one was similar to @Kate08Young - there was a birth announcment thread that is just for announcements and not comments and then whenever anyone is in labor or has had their baby, if they want to start their own thread to update about the labor and/or share the birth story, that's totally welcome and encouraged. Especially if there are newborn pics included. This is the time no one should be shy about having their own thread. It's the big moment!

One quick addendum to mine: I'm planning on having a homebirth. Do we want to pair up the med-free check-in folks who might know more about what's going on in that realm? Or just let the buddy selection happen naturally?

Also, I'm PST. But I don't think time zone thing will really matter...babies come when they come.

Sign me up. I'm due 12/1, and will be attempting natural birth (or as low intervention as possible, assuming there aren't any serious complications). Would love to be paired with another FTM who is also trying to go this route!
