@Spicyweiner That's a cute dress! I use to love going to military balls. When my husband was in the Army we were stationed at Ft. Campbell and they always held them at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. So much fun!
I love them too. I usually get to drink though haha
Sooo I GUESS the invites to my cousin's wedding are in the mail. I decided to take the plunge and finally get my hair colored. I'm way over due but we're broke right now, so I was trying to save money. Those wire-y white hairs totally need to go. Btw, my colorist is late. He's not even here yet. Woof.
Reserved my dogs' kennel stay for our October baby-moon. And, booked my ultrasound for the 26th. I've gotten so much done at work this afternoon (non-work related, obviously), I may go home and binge on episodes of Married at First Sight.
Not sure if this was mentioned in the big boobie bra thread but my sister bought me a Gap Body wireless bra and it's the best thing that's happened to me in weeks. It is so comfortable... For littles and medium to bigs. I'm not a huge boob girl, like a 36D, but it is amazing.
@homemake I only buy gap body but never tried the wire free... I might give it a shot now so glad you posted that in here because I'm not anywhere big enough to participate in the big boob club lol
So I have been arguing with my Dr about the NT scan (Nuchal translucency) and I have never been so confused.. He told me I will get it from week 16-20 weeks however everywhere I look it up it says 11-14 weeks?? Does anyone else have experience with this or had an NT scan done later on?
@Rainbow2017 that's weird. As far as I know the NT scan is time sensitive and does need to be done by 14 weeks. Maybe he was confused and thought you were discussing the anatomy scan? Which is between 16-20 weeks..
@rainbow2017 at my place they are offering me testing along with my anatomy scan for Down syndrome. I'm not sure if they're considering that the NT scan but also said it could be done until about 20 weeks.
@GlitterDragon I even made my husband call and double check and he assured him that was correct? We haven't even discussed the anatomy scan yet. Not happy about this makes me worry he has no clue what he's doing..
I actually just tried a wire-free bra from Motherhood. It felt really comfortable in the fitting room. But when I wrote it all day on Sunday, it was actually really painful. I guess the cups have wire in them? I'm not sure but the cups were hard and dug into my sides. I hope they accept returns even though I wore it for a day.
Update: So my colorist never showed up! They said he'd be here in 20 minutes but it's been an hour now. I was pissed. Everything really happens for a reason, though. The manager fit me in with another girl and is giving me 50% off! Now I don't feel guilty coloring my hair cuz we broke! I just hope this other girl does just a good job. FX. Btw, I'm not going back to my colorist. He's left a bad taste in my mouth.
@rainbow2017 I had the (NT) integrated screening done, which means an ultrasound (to measure the fold) and then two rounds of bloodwork. I was told the ultrasound and first round of bloodwork had to be done between 11 and 14 weeks. But my second set of bloodwork could not be done until at least 16 weeks. Since some OB offices send you to an outside specialist to do the scans and bloodwork, is it possible that he's got his dates confused? Maybe you could ask where it is that he would send you and then just contact them directly to ask about timing.
@Spicyweiner There were usually plenty of people at the hotel buying drinks for the soldiers. Won't be quite the same when you can't drink, but it's still a kid free night!
@Rainbow2017 wow. I was always told the blood work and test for the NT scan was time sensitive. Maybe it's a regional thing? It's not too late to find a new OB if this one is making you have second guesses.

This is exactly what I have to do. I'm going for the second set of bloodwork next week, I'll be 17+3.
From what I understand (and experienced) the NT bloodwork is done in two parts, between 11-14, then 14-17. The NT scan is around 11-12 weeks. The anatomy scan is 18-20.
My OB asked if I wanted to do the screenings for downs, etc. at 16 weeks also. Maybe it's a different test? I opted out after doing some reading on the info they gave me, but it was the quad screen, done between 16-18 weeks. Maybe it's the quad instead of the NT? @Rainbow2017
@srscott3 Yes everywhere I look it up at online thats how it is ALWAYS done. Thats why I have asked him if he was sure and made my husband call again. @GlitterDragon I really am considering a new Dr but deff going to be calling once again tomorrow or going into the office for more straight answers to my questions. If I don't get anything I will be switching. Thank you all for your responses this is very frustrating for me and I really just want to know baby is healthy.
Okay, so since there is no WTF Wednesday, and we were talking about teaching earlier today on here, can I just say: I just got home from a day mostly filled with department meetings and "strategic development initiatives" and I am ready to flip my fucking lid. I am so sick of nonsense buzzwords, and if I hear one more word about "visioning" in the next week, I am going to scream.
And apparently my school is trying to create a "culture of observation" and keep talking about it like it's a good thing, but our school is already high stakes and high pressure for our kids, and I don't think getting them used to the sensation of being watched all the time is at ALL healthy for their mental health and *deep breath*
This is the first time I've ever done beginning of year BS without coming home to a 10 oz pour of cab sav. I am struggling.
@rainbow2017 You know...now that I think about it, I've never had or been offered the NT scan until this pregnancy. (This is my 4th baby). I've only ever had the quad screen around 16 weeks. The only reason I ended up having the NT scan (and cvs and probably an amnio as well) was due to my abnormal panorama test.
Strange! Maybe it's just not routine for all doctors?
Ok, this is an AW, but its random, so. My 5 year old has the sniffles and is very dramatic when she is sick. She requires lots of snuggles and attention. We are all getting ready for bed here and she brought me this because I am "an awesome mama who is so good at taking care of her."

It wasn't mentioned to me either pregnancy. I knew about it from reading but didn't really inquire. My midwife said today when I asked about the testing they offer during the anatomy scan that since I was low risk she wouldn't recommend testing until after an ultrasound showed any markers or abnormalities. If I wanted to of course I could but she didn't think it was necessary.
Speaking of nurseries... Im so torn because I want to spend the money on all the things but wtf do you do with nursery art in two years when your kid will only sleep on ninja turtle anything? I'm stuck somewhere between being cheap and wanting this room to be so cute.
@perrasucia I went kind of plain and will again for the next one. Walls are revere pewter (yay Pinterest) and then I get the cute crib sheet and changing pad cover. Put a couple of things on the wall in the same color scheme and done. I made a mobile so it didn't cost much.
@perrasucia now that I'm thinking about it I have Michaels to thank for some cool stuff I did. I hung these paper lanterns and also used paper from the same box of decorations to make her name in giant letters. Get crafty girl!

Somehow stuck here. Ok, top near books, behind carriage or whatever the pink things are? Looked again and I have no idea. I am mobile so it doesn't get too big but even it if did I don't think I would find anyone. Edit
@poetryandoceans I think a culture of observation is a good thing! It's not about pressure on kids - teachers are the ones being observed; and it shouldn't be any kind of stakes - it's about collaboration and growth, not "gotcha." I don't mean to dismiss your rant - I'm a teacher too and hate those same things - but I'm also an observer and would be happy to talk more about what that's supposed to mean, if you'd like. If you just wanted to bitch about it, feel free to ignore me
Is she by the books behind whatever that pink toy is? I'm also on mobile and my husband probably thinks I'm crazy holding the phone close up to my face to see
