@kennelchick Your baby is sooooooo cute! I can't imagine having to leave your baby at the hospital, that takes a lot of love and strength. Hang in there!
I for one am excited about ALL of the O16 babies - the more the better! Although I agree about wanting more pictures of all of the sweet babies. Gets the oxytocin going
Dh: What in the world are you doing?? Me: Making padsicles Dh: .... Me: What?! Dh: You're nesting! Does that mean he's coming tonight?? Me: I'm just making padsicles....and washing our pillows
I missed so much! I haven't caught up on the announcements! I do remember having a dream where i had the baby, and the next two days were insanity so I didn't get to post my announcement on the thread and I remember panicking in my dream: "but I HAVE to update the O16 announcement thread!!!!"
Also, we now have a carseat!!! Woohoooo! Baby can come now.
I don't know why I thought I could handle driving 5 hours to a family reunion, going to a college football game, dealing with the heat, stadium stairs and bleachers, and then driving 5 hours home. Every inch of my body hurts. My insides feel like they are going to come out. I just want to be home and I don't want to leave again until it's baby time.

This sounds horribly uncomfortable. Feel better soon!
I just had my second dose of the steroid shot for LOs lungs- man that things gives you a sore bum!
did anyone else's body turn red afterwards? My chest, face and arms are all flushed! The nurses think it's from the shot- which it probably is. But I didn't realize that was a side effect!
i am not really concerned just curious!
not being able to sleep and a higher resting heart rate are two of the other things I have but I knew those could happen!
Congrats @kennelchick! I was excited to see your name - you are the first name in the birth announcements that I recognized! So happy that you & your LO are healthy! I know it must be scary & so tough to leave her but hang in there!! Thinking of you.

My chest, arms, and shoulders flushed pretty badly - bright red - after that shot.

Oh good to know I'm not the only one! @sjo_thetwins thanks!
Ditto to being excited about all O16 babes! I get why there are some drive-by announcements... keep in mind these ladies are stuck in the hospital for a few days, probably going stir crazy, and stumbled upon our board and decided to post. Not everybody is going to know or follow the rules, that's just how it is. I do think there should totally be a baby picture requirement for posting though
I am glad Sundays are slow on here, I've been doing homework for six hours straight and wouldn't have the energy to even attempt to catch up if we had another day like Friday!
@ashleyp625 I packed the diaper bag too with (2) outfits, one newborn and one a little bigger, and onesies just in case. I know he'll probably hang out in the onesies and the blankets they provide. I brought a blanket for him too that we will use in the hospital and for his car seat.

@ashleyp625 - my hospital provides onesies for the baby to wear and I assume most do. So I think the answer would be no (other than your going home outfit, unless you just want the baby in something other than the hospital provided onesie. I personally don't think I'll bring outfits for her to wear in the hospital bc that just means more laundry for me.
@ashleyp625 I have packed his going home outfit along with a cute onesie and a gown. He may not wear the other two but I figured better to have them than not. I may want to dress him up for visitors???

@ashleyp625 my hospital requested bringing 4-5 sleepers for the baby, so I guess mine doesn't provide anything. I ended up packing 8, 4 nb and 4 0-3ms because who knows how big this guy will be. I also packed a going home outfit which is 0-3ms, but if it ends up being too big, he'll be coming home in one of those sleepers. I also brought a few blankets since we can't bring the hospital ones home and I wouldn't mind bringing home a smelly blanket for the dog so she can pick up his scent before meeting him.
Mine said not to bother with clothes except for the going home outfit. They do provide white t-shirts for the baby, but I've heard the baby just stays in a diaper and swaddled in a blanket 99% of the time. I guess clothes aren't necessary when you're just that cute!
Yeah, with my son, he didn't wear clothes the whole stay. If he was in his bassinet, he was swaddled. If he was on me (which was most of the time), he was just in his diaper so we could have skin-to-skin. We only needed a going-home outfit. It might depend on the hospital, though, so it doesn't hurt to bring a few outfits just in case.
I've mostly been lurking these days, but +1 for being excited for all O16 announcements. Hell, I even lurk other boards for birth announcements and I don't know anyone there. It's fun to read other people's birth stories and see pics of their beautiful babies. It makes me even more excited to meet my own.
Nurse just called. I'm getting induced next Friday at 4 am. 10 days of pregnancy left. 7 work days. I might have cried tears of joy and professed my love to her for making my day.
Eeek!!! OMG shit just got really real for you @nlane0723! I would have professed my love too!! LOL

Dammit. I posted on the wrong thread. I WAS JUST SO EXCITED. Thank you, ladies! It's definitely nice to have a light at the end of this super wide tunnel.
yay for @nlane0723!! We will be awaiting your announcements with bated breath.
Pro tip for packing the bag for baby: bring a swaddle. Whether it be a really good high quality swaddling blanket or something like a woombie (easier for those with little to no experience swaddling while you recover...ie what I will be bringing) it's really nice to have if/when baby is rooming in with you and wakes up a million times in the motn. You could totally call a nurse in to re-swaddle but you won't want to. And a bad swaddle job won't get you real far sleeping-wise.
