Re: Baby Sleep Questions
Eta: we had to give in. He was getting worse with each nap and crankier during the day plus I remembered he's in a wonder week. DH and I realized that he can't be soothed other ways and ends up crying himself to exhaustion each time which isn't healthy and it this age he needs his sleep above all else. I can survive with replacing the dummy during naps and he doesn't need it at night so night wakings should be an issue. We said we'd try again to go cold turkey once we see hes able to calm himself down at times. Until then we will try gradual weaning where I pull it out slowly as he's goes into light sleep.
I'll be glad when my husband returns from his weekend golf trip. He's a big help and great moral support.
Preston did one time but was able to calm down by sucking. So sad
So now we have to ditch the swaddle! I ordered a zipadee-zip but don't know what to do in the week or so until it arrives! She won't sleep longer than 30 minutes without being swaddled or held; she still has a strong startle reflex. I'm going to try swaddling her with one arm out in the rock n play (where it's harder for her to roll over), but even that makes me nervous! And here I thought I had another month or two before we had to transition... Boo.
ETA: He usually has a 6-8 hr stretch at night. He will be 12 weeks on Friday I think?! Is that bad I don't remember lol? Any how he will be three months sept 10.
Anyone else go through this and have any advice? I am praying it's just something he will grow out of! I miss the 90 minutes of freedom 2x a day!
