@scostel2 - I love the you are my sunshine stuff! My mom used to wake me up in the mornings by singing that to me when I was really young so anything with those song lyrics involved is instantly even better lol
So sunshiney and happy @scostel2 !! Yellow just instantly makes me smile, and I love the pops of gray. Such a great theme for a little one! p.s. I spy a kitty tail...

We've made some progress on the nursery, not as much as I'd like, but it's getting there. We still haven't hung anything on the walls yet because we're waiting on two custom water color pieces from a friend. After we get those, we'll decide where everything looks best. I'm pretty certain the thing in her crib will go on the wall above the crib. And there's a mirror over by the bookshelf that will probably go over the dresser/changing table.
Please excuse the two things on the floor under the window. The room was full of presents before this weekend and when I was moving things around, I found two of those house gecko things and trapped them under containers so hubby could remove them when he got home lol. (It was actually only one. What I thought was a second smaller one was the big one's tail. GROSS.)
Seriously we still need the chair which will go behind the pouf (should be here in 2-3 weeks), and a twin bed is going along the wall across from the crib. DH should be done refinishing that and the dresser this week. So all these clothes can go in drawers. Then I can feel better about where we are. My friend is painting 2 pieces to go over the crib and the rest of the walls are a big question mark right now. At least my curtains are hemmed???
Everyone else looks so organized!! Nursery envy continues.
@CopperBoom86 I just love the color purple...and you've used it so well! It looks so airy and feminine without being too over the top girly...I want to live in this room!!
P.S. Love your hot dog just chillin', looking all at home...
@LMNOBaby - What you described is exactly what I was going for.
And that dog is so darn rotten! She definitely thinks all this is for her. I catch her in there by herself all the time!
Awww, so cute!! Does she burrow under the blanket, too? And I can relate - our little guy thinks everything I set up is for him. I caught him barking to get up on the rocking chair the other day so he could reach a stuffed animal! It's going to be interesting trying to keep toys separate between baby and pup!
@CopperBoom86 You're nicer than I am! I keep a baby gate in front of the nursery door so mine can't get in! Of course with the mess on the floor in there, who knows what she would get into!
And +1 for the burrowers!

@ibabyloveb87 - I've heard you're supposed to keep your pets out of the nursery... boundaries and whatnot... but we've been spending a lot of time in the nursery and I don't want them to feel left out!
@CopperBoom86 I've caught my cat lounging in the boppy newborn lounger, sitting in a basket of baby clothes (luckily they are still to be washed), and sprawled out on the activity gym box. It's not like we don't have 5 million cat-appropriate places for them to lay around the house. They always want the new exciting thing.
I'm guilty of not keeping our dog out of the nursery. I want her to be as relaxed as possible when the baby comes home so I let her hang out when I'm in the nursery. Here she is trying to figure out why she can't play with these toys.
@NicholeL16 we have a dog too that we let in the nursery so he gets acclimated but he doesn't know that he can't touch his brothers toys and he tries to get them. This is going to be a hard transition. I really hope he learns quickly that he can't eat his brothers toys.

Hopefully yours will be like my friend's dog is with her son's stuff. It was weird. Her toy obsessed dog just KNEW those weren't his toys when her son was born.
@sportiegrl1213 Monroe has actually done ok so far. The only thing she is confused about is the balls. I'm not bothered by that so we are in good shape I think.

Our dogs are like this. They've never once played with anything other than their toys. We didn't really teach them that; they just knew somehow.
@NicholeL16 - that picture is precious! Our dog is pretty good about knowing what toys are "off limits". The only ones he ever tries to get are the bath toys that squeeze water and the bullets (little orange balls) from my son's zombie gun...
@lilbabybrown I can see how bath toys could be confusing for a pup! She's really good and hasn't destroyed anything that wasn't hers since she was a puppy. She is definitely perplexed by all the new stuff we've been bringing into the house.
I finally have something to share: I got all the 6mo.-18 mo. clothes put away in the closet, an organizer put up for breastfeeding/bath/diaper changing stuff, the lamp was brought up, I repositioned the crib, hung up paper flowers, hung the Love is Sweet banner, and now need to finish making fabric boxes and put up more wall art soon ! Oh and I need a glider !
@mommabear444 I love those round wall hangings behind the crib! Just want to mention also that you may want to be careful with how close the lamp is to the crib - obv baby won't be grabbing for it yet, but you'll probably need to put it out of arms reach in a few months.
Thankyou @kmvisioli & I will have to reposition the crib anyway because we removed 2 bars on the back side, which is really the front side, so my son could crawl out and into bed with us... which reminds me I need to get mesh bumpers.

ours will in no way be as gorgeous as every other one of these but these sheets are everything
Made some progress this weekend! Still need to order wall art to replace the ugly black bracket where the TV used to be, but it's coming along.
