T&P @peachesnbean! If it puts your mind at ease at all, my MW's trainee had a hard time finding mine at my 16 week appointment. It threw me since I thought it would be easy at this point, but apparently it can still be tricky in early 2nd tri.
She couldn't find hb either, so she got out the little VScan machine (low tech ultra sound) and my placenta is anterior and very thick. We couldn't see all of baby, only its head and arms but we were able to see it suck it's thumb so it's okay. We're going to do an office check this week. (This was a very informal visit to the on call room, off the record).

Thanks guys. All week I've felt really off, I was feeling movement and then not. Even though I didn't get to see or hear the HB seeing baby suck his/her thumb was a big relief. And hearing that I have an anterior placenta made a lot of sense. Can't wait to go into the office this week and hopefully we can actually get some HB action.

Glad to hear everything was ok with you @peachesnbean! My friend had asked me if I wanted her doppler and I had to turn her down because I was afraid that would happen to me and I would freak out. I can't wait till we get to the stage where we can feel our babies and not be nervous.

@Aussie45 I wasn't going to do a Doppler this time around but I went from feeling movement daily to not, it freaked me out.
I'm sorry I hate it when that happens. DD did that a couple of times and I was drinking OJ and doing all kinds of stuff to get her to move. Even in utero, they still manage to freak us out and give us gray hairs. I haven't had consistent movements, but if it gets consistent and then stops I'm going to be freaking out too.
I don't think there's really any part of pregnancy that's really stress free..

I unfortunately have had a hemi since DD1. When I'm done having kids I am going to see someone to get it removed. Prep H works, when you #2 use wet wipes, and do sitz baths. Essentially just sit in warm water, you could add some witch hazel to it.

I don't know much about football but all my neighbors are crazy Trump people and posting about this Colin Kaepernick scandal of not standing for the pledge of allegiance.
1. I don't think being a professional athlete makes you have to be a patriot unless you're like at the Olympics or something. (I think there is a team named the patriots so them aside too) 2. I don't think white people have a right to be annoyed by black people saying this is a racist country. 3. I wonder if these people also hate Mohammad Ali.
Does anyone have a blind pet? My sweet, geriatric Siamese is worse than we thought. We moved into our new home and I didn't realize how much she relied in muscle memory to get around our old place.. We had to put up a baby gate on the stairs because she kept accidently stumbling down. Shes bumping into walls too, and it's breaking my heart that she'll get lost in a corner somewhere and start yowling til one of us go and gets her...
Any tips on how to make it easier for her?
I've been baby wearing her (lol) in a little homemade papoose thingy but she's getting too used to it and I want her to be able to get around, find her food/water/litter etc a little easier
@yogadevil I have a blind Yorkie! She will figure it out, she just needs time. We've moved three times since my dog became blind (in an attack) and there was an adjustment period. He still sometimes gets stuck in random places and walks into stuff but he knows where to go. I've never had a cat but I would think their senses are just as good as dogs... Not only is my dog blind but he's also almost 100% deaf and we will leave him in the living room at night to go to bed and without fail he shows up a couple minutes later crying for us to pick him up. We usually leave him in this one room and he can find his room with ease no matter where he is in the house. Their sense of smell is amazing and once she starts recognizing that I feel like it should get better.
@homemake that's my hope that she'll get acclimated and figure things out, good to know it just takes time. Thanks! She's not deaf but if I call her she doesn't follow my voice she just walks and bumps around aimlessly til she picks up the scent. I hope she can adjust soon!

I think the 49ers' response pretty much summed it up perfectly. In our nation it is our right to decide whether to stand, pledge, etc. and he had his reasons. He still came to work and did his job. On the other side of the aisle, there have been a couple of recent instances of athletes skipping WH visits after a championship because they either admittedly or presumably do not support Obama (including, sadly for me, a couple of major Boston sports heroes). I'm glad we have that option here, and I guess I'm glad people have the right to stew about, even though it's annoying and a distraction from actual issues.
That said, not a Kaepernik fan in general for football reasons.
@Xstatic3333 I can't stand Dwayne Wade (another not pledger) because he's the angriest player on the court. But I mean honestly there are SO many monster athletes. Like terrible people and I can't believe how those people get a pass but someone standing for black lives is pitchforked.
@yogadevil My childhood dog went blind in his later years (cocker spaniel). He adapted to it very well. We actually were able to teach him left and right as commands. For a cat that likely won't help you. If he got turned around in the yard chasing chickens, we could just yell, "Buddy, left!" And he'd turn and start off that way. My only suggestion is try hard to keep things on the floor in the same spot until she gets the lay of the land.
@PerraSucia I'm a niners fan and I'm embarrassed by him. It would be different if he was I understand he has that freedom but it does make me feel like he is disrespecting the men and women who have given up their lives for this country, but I'm also super patriotic. The only thing is I feel like he is doing this for attention since he wont be our QB this year. I follow him on social media and his post are so inaccurate. Sports commentators were saying that he knew he wouldn't make the team and so he is trying to cause a problem in hopes they will let him go and he can sue.
@raptormomma well if that's true, that's pretty scheissty. I sort of see it like this.. People are dying for his freedom to say whatever he wants, even if it's not something they support or believe in.
@WinchesterGirl it made me smile picturing your dog using voice commands to chase chickens
I think as soon as we're fully unpacked leaving things as-is will be easier. I had DH put most boxes in our spare room, however the kitchen is a total disaster. I'm going to be such a proud furmama when she memorizes the house layout! Thanks for the advice
